  1. Last night in MDR, on Luminosa, during the throwback day, the Chocolate cake thing was back to normal. I kid you not
  2. Again, admitted snobbery on my part, but it isn't an ice cream cake, it's just merely ice cream, typically in a half dome, covered in a thick layer of meringue No crust, not a cake and neopolitan? Not in any true one, it's vanilla. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/18986/baked-alaska/
  3. Exactly as I type this, at 9:30 pm local, we have crossed the Equator
  4. Admitted food snobbery.....THIS is not a "Baked Alaska" THIS is a Neapolitan ice cream cake with meringue
  5. Also as an update on early arrival, none of this is official, just my being observant..... We're hauling the mail now.....we've been doing a leisurely 13kts for most all of the cruise and now were doing 20kts It even feels faster and for sure looks it, why I checked the map boards. Found library....kind of hidden Standing at the Excursion Desk, you look right then you'll see it
  6. 1. 80's Day dance lessons, Thriller dance (I did not) 2. He even had a throwback uniform 3. Old fashion ball and cage bingo (one away!)
  7. They sucked. Can't be any more clearer than that. Not made fresh. If we sink, I can tie them together for a life raft
  8. IT IS NOW POST TIME Horse racing $2 per bet/horse, USD cash only One race.
  9. My brother used to bartend at “World Famous Button on the Beach” in Ft Lauderdale all through the spring break years. Several times he told me he was so sick of making “Sex on the Beach” because that’s what every female wanted to drink, because they were so sweet. Dudes loved it, because they’d get so hammered w/o knowing it.
  10. John Heald posted on his FB page right after this cruise started the numbers for it: Total passengers 1914, USA 1729, Australia 53, Canada 42, others 90. So unless somebody jumped ship along the way that is the number they are expecting to get off at some point. Have a feeling this may be part of it. Also keep in mind, every pax had to surrender our passports at embarkation and were returned to us after Tahiti. Then add in the crew. This entire crew will have to go through Customs and Border Patrol, every single one, because Hawaii is this ship's first entry port into the US, ever. That has to be even more complicated between the many nationality, work/travel visas, ESTA's and so on.....then there's any food inventories and such, maybe it's inspected?
  11. Misc pics. Then you see a photo of M/Y Formosa I saved you the trouble of looking her up for your next charter, she's only $470,000 per week + expenses. Pocket change, bro.... Like that Tahitian nickel I found....It's a start, don't laugh https://www.yachtcharterfleet.com/luxury-charter-yacht-25653/formosa.htm "The 60m/196'10" 'Formosa' motor yacht built by the Italian shipyard Benetti is available for charter for up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. This yacht features interior styling by Dutch designer Sinot Yacht Design." BTW, apparently she got into trouble a few years back, anchoring onto and damaging some coral reefs off Hawaii. She was fined $100,000 for that boo-boo
  12. It's now totally official, I have become "old" The music in the MDR is all "my music" with Led Zeppellin, Tom Petty, The Ramones, Madonna, Rick James, Devo and B-52's.... We found a banana....well, half a banana
  13. Horse racing tomorrow, and that means…..80’s Day!! saw lots of 80’s trivia and stuff too, but nothing stating it. I’ll ask at GS
  14. Note the time......6:07pm 70-80 minute wait It is now 6:49 and app says 40-50 minutes This is why you check in to eat BEFORE you're hungry.
  15. 33rd cruise and you're unaware of the drink limit? New to drinking? Maybe 15 is a good idea for you then? Were you drinking MORE THAN 15 drinks a day on the past 33 cruises?
  16. SHARED FROM THIS CRUISE FB GROUP This is regarding our new extra day in Hawaii =========== B.J. Guillot The immigration process in Hawaii is probably going to be crazy and take several hours. I recently did a cruise that left from Panama and it's final destination was a New York. We stopped in Puerto Rico before New York. Because Puerto Rico was the first US stop for that ship's itinerary, everyone (including every single crew member too!) had to debark the ship until passenger/crew count goes to zero. No one can re-board the ship until the count goes to zero. This took from about 8 am to 1 pm because some passengers were refusing to get off (claimed they were wearing headphones and could not hear the 27 announcements to get off the ship). I assume Hawaii will be similar for us, so that first day may be a bit stressful. Immigration lines took a long time too but at least that killed some of the time while waiting to get back on the ship. ================= I can't vouch for the validity, but seems plausible.
