In Celebrity’s description of their Stingray City sandbar excursion, they describe is as Strenuous. We are in our late 60’s, but feel wading in chest high water on a sandbar, then lunch after, would not be difficult, let alone strenuous. Has anyone been on this tour?

I’m looking at the Celebrity Excursion, which describes being in waist deep water. My husband is not a swimmer. I assume life vests are required anyway. Would he be able to participate?

Update: So, we are looking at a rental car! Besides Eagle Beach, any recommended must sees before we turn the car back in? This is likely to be our only visit to Aruba!

The ship excursions are sold out! We are 4 people in our 60’s. We want to spend a couple hours at Eagle Beach, but are not sure what else are must-sees in Aruba. Ideally, we’d like to see the sights first, then be dropped at the beach. I can’t seem to find any local excursion companies that do that. We’ve never set out on our own before, but don’t want to waste the opportunity to see Aruba, and really do not want to rent a car.

We will be in port from 9 am-10 pm. Ship excursions are full, so thinking of coming up with our own itinerary, and maybe include an hour or so in a casino if they are near the port. Ideas?

Curious if you decided which one! We will be docked in Marseille on June 24, and I do want to see Lavender fields. Luberon sounds wonderful, but I don’t want to take the tour offered by the cruise line.
