  1. If you snorkel do not book through the ship. We used Blue Water Divers and there was only 10 people on the boat. We stopped at 3 sites. As we left the first site, 2 huge pontoons showed up with cruise people. We laughed and waved to them as we headed to our second stop. Top notch company!!!!

  2. We just did YTD dining on the Sunshine. Seating started at 5:15. We had a party of 9 and we would all meet at the Ocean Plaza. One or two if us each night would get in line around 4:45 while the rest got drinks or took pics. Early assigned seating did not start until 6 so we had a 45 min jump on all those people each nigh in getting to after dinner activities. I will do YTD from now on

  3. I was on the Sunshine out of PC Mar 4-12 to Aruba. We had the rooms directly above the bridge on deck 9. The first 3 nights the wind was 50-60 kts and waves got up to 17-20' one night. I made for 3 sleepless nights. Wind did not die down until we were on the way back north to Grand Turk. Sea spray was on our windows 9 decks up.

  4. If you bought it onboard it should have been delivered, that's what the FAQ says (the stuff you buy ashore and turn in still needs to be picked up).

Nope!! On Sunshine cruise in March there were 2 lines. 1 for on-board purchases and 1 for shore purchases. I know what the FAQs said because I specifically read it before the cruise. here is what the FAQs specifically say:

    Ports of Call

All alcohol purchased in ports will be stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained items will be available for collection in a designated lounge on the morning of debarkation for cruise durations 5 days and less; for cruise durations 6 days and more, alcoholwill be delivered to guest staterooms after 7:00pm, the evening prior to debarkation (some exceptions may apply).

    The Fun Shops (onboard)

All alcohol purchased in The Fun Shops onboard will be stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained items will be available for collection in a designated lounge on the morning of debarkation for cruise durations 5 days and less; for cruise durations 6 days and more, alcohol will be delivered to guest staterooms after 7:00pm, the evening prior to debarkation (some exceptions may apply).

  5. They changed that policy for cruise longer than 5 days and they now deliver it to the cabin the night before as they used to (for purchases from the Duty Free store onboard anyway).

This is not true. We did Sunshine 8 day on March 4-12 and I had read the alcohol would be delivered and it wasn't. We had to pick up the last morning. I was not a happy camper about it

  6. I do reviews of lots of places in clouding cruise ships. Each one is different. I would say tell us what you liked and did not like and why. I also include observations of things I see in other people's reviews. For example, lots of people complain about cheers or FTTF. I got both last time and confirmed or denied all those complaints based on my experience.

  7. Out of PC, you should get your S&S cards in the terminal before you board. That is what happened on our March 4 sailing on the Sunshine out of PC. I got a drink as soon as I got on at the lobby bar after paying with gift cards online. Wanted to be sure there were no issues so I could hit Guest Services right there if there was an issue

  8. Don't listen to all the blowhards. Make up your own mind. We are not lucky enough to live close enough to a port to drive to it embarkation morning. We, like a lot of people, stay in a hotel the night before. With FTTF, it allows us to check out of the hotel and head directly to the port and board as soon as they allow boarding. We drop our bags off at the room and hit the lido before it gets super crowded with people and all their carry on luggage. Should we have an issue, we NEVER wait in line at guest services. Our last cruise, we especially liked the VIP debarkation in Aruba. People had been waiting in line for who knows how long and they were not happy when ship personnel escorted us right past them all. It was a good thing because we arrived 3 hours late to Aruba and there were zero taxis at the port. We would have wasted a ton of time waiting on a taxi had we not gotten off first. We also get priority debarkation after the cruise is over. This is a tremendous help in getting on the road asap to drive home. To us buying it is worth it and we get it every time we can on a Carnival cruise.

  9. YTD dining does not start until 6. By going at 5:15 we got a 45 min head start so we were done much earlier than the 6pm seating. We were done and free to do whatever evening activities we chose without rushing or getting bad seats. Most nights they started assigning tables right at 5 so we really did not wait in line at all. Honestly, our idea of fun is not a 2-2.5 dinner that could be finished in an hour. By going at 5:15, we were usually out in 1.5 hours.

  10. We just got off the Sunshine on March 12 and our party was 9. We used YTD and like the post above we got in line at 4:45 every day. They started seating at 5:15. the only wait we had was the short line to check in. We requested the same table each night. They out us at a table for 8 and just added a chair and serving set to the table to accomodate 9 people
