    Good afternoon.

We have just got home after 14 night's holiday.

We had 2 nights pre-cruise and 2 nights post -cruise and 10 nights on

    Ventura.

We were on by 11.45am priority boarding and seated at 12 noon for embarkation lunch which was table service and plenty of wine.

    We visited.

    Santander.

    Vigo.

    Lisbon 2 nights.

    Porto.

A Corunna ( St Peter port was cancelled due to weather).

We had a fantastic time eating in Epicurean 5 nights.

    Beach house 3 nights.

    Sindhu 2 nights.

    The only downside was.

NO SHUTTLE service provided at Lisbon and reception later said it is a Short walk and Shuttles have not been provided for months?.

we had shuttle service in march when we were on Iona. Its a short walk if you want to go nr the horse but up the top its quite long, although coaches have to go all the way around so took quite a while

Taking my Son on his first cruise and my wife is going to pick us up from Southampton when we return, what sort of time should I ask her to meet us at the port, obviously the later the better as it's a two hour drive and I honestly don't mind eating breakfast until 11am. We are staying at a hotel the night before embarkation so that part isn't a worry. I've searched forums but most people seem to want to know how early they can finish their holidays not the opposite 🙂

they will give you your disembarkation time on the thursday evening. We had 10.00am

  3. How do you print your luggage labels. They are not in check-in, which is where they are on other cruise lines. Says print documents but won't load, is there a time frame from when you can access your luggage labels.

I am at a complete loss as to why they use the passengers lifts for luggage, with the enormous difficulties that it creates for passengers trying to move around the ship, rather than the service lifts as other cruise lines do. Answers on a postcard……

When we were on QV in december they were using the passenger lifts they also use them on QM2. Makes you wonder if they have any internal lifts. Still love cunard though.

Never been on Celebrity, so can’t compare. The same with P&O which seems another object of comparison. Don’t they tend to play a lot of loud artificial music on Celebrity?

Incidentally don’t you think the dress of the five Liverpudlian women yesterday, (which was criticised by many) was in part chosen to reflect the Cunard colours?

I think you might be thinking of carnival. I remember when we first went on a celebrity ship some-one said the same they then realised it was carnival not celebrity🤣

today I searched for a 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise with Celebrity Cruises aboard Celebrity Apex and P&O Cruises aboard Iona in July 2024.

Celebrity Cruises aboard Celebrity Apex departing Southampton on Saturday 20th July calling at Zeebrugge(Brussels), Flam / Geiranger and Bergen in Norway and arriving back into Southampton on Saturday 27th July 2024 for 1 adult staying in a obstructed Infinite Veranda Cabin the cruise price for 7 nights for cruise only would have been a total price of £3,040.00 or if I went all inclusive which includes Classic Drinks Package, Wifi, Meals and Entertainment then the holiday would have been a total cost of £3,811.00 (the price comparison was done using Celebrity Cruises UK website)

P&O Cruises aboard Iona 7 nights departing Southampton on Saturday 20th July 2024 and returning back into Southampton on Saturday 27th July 2024 calling at Geirangerfjords & Hellesylt, Olden, Stavanger, Haugesund and cruise-by's to Storfjorden, Sunnylvsfjorden and Innvikfjorden for 1 adult staying in a standard Balcony Cabin just the total cost would have been £2,768.00. however if I added the Classic Drinks Package at £48.85p per person per day and the Ultimate Wifi Package at £18.00 for the entire cruise then the total holiday price would be £3,127.95p(this price comparison was done using P&O Cruises website).

P&O Cruises 7 day Norwegianfjords cruise aboard Iona is cheaper by £683.05p

We are on the celebrity apex on 20/7/24. We had a guarantee concierge total cost with prepaid gratuities for both of us £2,638.00

  7. Thank you all for your replies. Another question how do you input your passport and insurance details. Won't let me click into documents. Do I have to wait until online check-in opens or does my TA have to do this.

I can not believe it. I bought a pair of jeans online from M&S for collection from my local store. The jeans were late because of some online IT problems. This morning I received an email thanking me for returning the jeans and saying they would refund my credit card. Arrgh! I have immediately re-ordered. This could be interesting 🙄

I ordered a top for collection for my daughters birthday from mands. Had a text to say it was delayed by up to 48hrs. Left it the 2 days hadn't heard anything so phoned my local store they said it was showing up either lost or damaged, so they ordered me another one. Had an e-mail to say I wouldn't be charged. Few days later I had another e-mail saying thank you for your return we will process a refund.🤣

I have claimed from All Clear for my aunt and they required the original invoice as proof she was actually on that cruise.  It was very quick once I'd supplied all her documents.

They must know we were on that cruise because the letter P and O gave us stated both our names (we were given one each) and said which port was missed.

  10. We returned from iona on 30 march. Phoned our insurance (all-clear). They asked us for the letter we were given and some other details. Sent them off, have now had an e-mail requesting invoice from our tour operator stating how much we paid for this cruise. We are only claiming for missed port which states quite clearly we have. Are they just trying to get out of paying us, which wouldn't be much. Has anyone else had this problem.

We are with Barclays for annual insurance and they excluded my husband's cancer initially. However, after one year they would cover this and with no increase in the premium, just the regular travel pack price.

When I first had breast cancer in 2013 they wouldn't cover me for 2 yrs after that I was covered again. When it came back in 2022  in my bones they didn't want to know. Same with my husband when he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma 3 months after me in 2022.

  12. When we had travel insurance with our bank - barclays - they wouldn't cover us for our cancer. Aviva are their underwriters. We were thinking about changing our bank as our local branch has closed and were looking at nationwide. When we heard aviva would be their underwriters we didn't bother. We are now with all-clear. £1800 for the both of us for 12 months. Only includes europe but it was cheaper than keep paying individually.

I am just catching up on posts for the last week, we are on Princess and I have to say that it is not only P&O where things have changed and not for the better.   The behaviour of some people leaves a lot to be desired, smart casual now means that it is OK wear a bikini top and shorts to dinner in the main restaurants and to let your children throw food at each other.  We got out of a lift this morning when we saw a family of 4 push past a lady in a wheel chair and her partner to get in to the lift.  We have said that we will not be sailing on Princess again after our next cruise which we have unfortunately already paid for so would lose over £5000. Carnival's current push to price low in order attract a rowdy heavy drinking sort of passenger is not for us.

Reminds me of a man who was waiting for the lift with alot of us on disembarkation day. Lift furthest away from him came first. He went at speed in front of us, there was a young girl in a wheelchair on her own just getting ready to get in the lift when he skirted round her and jumped in the lift. I despair sometimes with some people fortunately not all. He looked to be in his thirties and how quickly he moved could have used the stairs as he had no luggage.
