Had lunch in the cabana. You can order from the room service menu basically.

    Mark got the Celebrity Burger.

    I got the pepperoni pizza.

Guys. I did not realize this pizza was big enough for three people. I felt terrible that I could only finish three slices. It was delicious. But seriously. I’m going to have to invite some friends next time.

We once ordered 4 in our room thinking 4 portions. The room attendant must of thought we were crazy. Obviously only ate one and a half and felt badly. Cruise and learn.

Have you had any problems with tropical storm Fred?  Any port cancellations or indication that you will be late arriving back in Port Canaveral?

Late August 2019, our Allure cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale, 7 nights turned into 10. Could not sail back so the ship hung out in western Caribbean. That was a pretty bad storm.

Well, here is your daily update.  The person I know sailing this Saturday from Florida just received a call after he was told this morning they were meeting to discuss the matter.  They just told him (again) now that for this weekend's cruise HE IS considered UNVACCINATED because his Pfizer shots were more than 42 days apart.  They say talks with the CDC are still ongoing.

Just when I thought we were getting somewhere after Michael Bayley himself said that we are considered fully vaccinated, this happens...

Were they offering a refund or at least covering the testing. The experience they sold him has definitely changed.

It doesn’t prevent you from cruising, but it does make it a more unpleasant experience and it does cost you more money at the end. You may not be allowed in certain places on a ship, you may not be allowed to get off a certain ports, you’re subject to more testing on your dime … why would one want to subject themselves to that if you are fully vaccinated but the cruise line won’t recognize you as such?

Actually it does. We are booked on a B2B2B and if considered “unvaccinated” now, you cannot cruise B2B. Now we are stuck with changing these and getting tested at our expense for all three and getting some kind of accommodation in between our new cruise selection. Ok, we can still cruise but not what they let us book originally.

  5. It will be interesting to see what the USA entry requirements are when the border opens up.  If they will be using the 42 days etc.  as a requirement to enter by land.  Right now, that is not the case when you fly in.  If you can enter the country and go to hotels and restaurants without all these restrictions why couldn't you cruise as vaccinated.  This doesn't make sense.

We are on a B2B2B in February.  This will be impossible with the 42 days limitation. Considered "unvaccinated" so no B2B.

We also have 3 weeks at Disney World planned so, cruising might just not be where we will be spending our money.

The port of Vancouver is beautiful in November.  I especially like it because not only is it raining buckets but there is usually a lot of wind so rain is falling sideways, negating the effectiveness of requisite umbrella.

Really, inferring that the goal is to start cruising in November is ridiculous. It is to confirm opening up so cruise lines and guests can begin planning confidently for next spring and summer.

  7. I think the room is the same sizes but I found it noisy on deck 2. We requested to move to an inside cabin on deck 2 so I could sleep better. Light sleeper. We were towards the back and there seemed to be a humming noise. I also heard that towards the front, there is noise from the anchor.  Noise canceling headphones might be my solution next time we cruise with a guarantee and end up in a less favourable room.

We love 3112. It has a little extra room in that you enter from the end of the hallway rather than from the side of the hallway, making that end of the hallway part of your room. Our stateroom attendant told us daily that the room was wider than the others on the hall, but I am not sure of that. The rooms on that hall used to be part of the public area and have huge windows. The mid ship elevators are just around the corner, and the aft elevators are at the end of the hall. We were next door to public restrooms which we never heard, but the extra restrooms come in handy. We were vey close to shore excursions and a short distance from guest relations.

I was wondering about that, being next to the washrooms. It sometimes is one of the last to be available. Thanks for the info.

  9. I would suggest they look at the shore excursions that they would prefer and take in their activity level and personal interests. Our first cruise had 4 port days as I wasn’t to sure I would enjoy it and it was western.  About 56 cruises later, we pick ships with great itineraries to tour like Europe or Caribbean (any kind) where we prefer ships with great entertainment like Oasis class.

  10. We sailed Honolulu to Vancouver April 20th to May 1 in 2015.  As far as I can remember we had good weather. Examples of diversions on the ship. Hula lessons, lei making, sea shell bracelets, sarong tying. Seminars such as The unification of Hawaii, Hearts and minds of the early Hawaiian people. Many movies and dance classes, various food and wine seminars. Never a dull moment.
I must say that the next time we do the crossing I would select yours as the anticipation to arrive in Hawaii is more fun. If you like beer, I would suggest the Steamworks brewing company in Vancouver. Nice patio by the waterfront.

  11. We loved the restaurant crew on Reflection.  We went to Blu on day 1 after boarding and upgraded our wine package with the sommelier and had the best service.  We also staked out a table we would like that would be quiet.  It was away from the windows as in December, it was dark anyways.  As for July, you may want a window table but it gets very competitive to get those tables.  No reserved tables.
