Another option would be to lease a small RV (check out companies in Vancouver) then drive to Calgary. We did this (with our own RV) stayed in the beautiful parks and treated ourselves to brunch at the Chateau Lake Louise. You’re right there with nature.

This may explain our current “success” story. Our population of about 38 million is spread over the second largest country (after Russia) in the world. Toronto metropolitan area population about 6 million has had more than its share of problems. Many small towns, rural areas has helped us contain the virus.

Our March 29th Edge cruise was just refunded complete. No issues. Thank you Celebrity. We are now waiting for our April 11th Infinity cruise. Not sure what will happen with our October cruise to Europe. Will have to decide in July if no cancellation comes from Celebrity.

No it doesn’t say there won’t be a requirement in the future. When they are allowed to start cruising they will receive requirement from CLIA and the CDC. If they don’t want to follow them they will have to cruise away from the U.S. We don’t know what restrictions the U.S. government or our state will put on us in the future.
I am surprised that Canada with their wonderful and “free” health care does not allow their citizens to have a assigned doctor. Do you have to go to a clinic and see the Dr. who is next in line? In the U.S. we have a personal doctor who has our history and who is under no liability issues for certifying you are fit to sail, at least when she saw you.
My husband and I have had the same doctor for more than 25 years. And that is the case with a lot of Canadians. When using a clinic (free) you can request to see the same doctor and they will give you their clinic hours. Eventually they can take you on full time. They keep our records on computers that the clinic and your personal doctor can access. A great, free, system that anyone can access.

Just got off the Oasis of the Seas yesterday and scheduled to board the Edge March 29. Both with a balcony. I tend to eat everything with a knife and fork (even burger or bread) I carry a small bottle of purell to get a quick touch up at the table. We also carried a few weeks worth of meds, just in case. Ship was always clean as I expect the Edge will be. Oh, and we always asked for a table for 2. We are 65 & 69.

HH is in "The Club" although you can go anywhere for drinks, you won't get appys. Only at the "Club"
Breakfast was in the Tuscan dining room. Very few window seats unlike Solstice Class.
Thank you. Really looking forward to the Edge. Going with an open mind. Discovering new ships is really exciting. 😄

Anyone know how they handle the HH & breakfast on the Edge. Also wondering where it’s held. Will be sailing March 29.

Actually, two weeks ago myself and friends enjoyed a 2014 and a 2017 GSM from Wente (Livermore, CA). They were both outstanding. (I may be prejudiced as I belong to Wente's Wine Club and get a quarterly shipment of varied wines from them).
If I remember correctly, we were able to get Murrietta’s Well Zinfandel on Celebrity. Really enjoyed it.

The solarium is 16+ and the restaurant is in an area just as you enter so it could be restricted also.

Thanks all - really great info.
We had a look at the new Symphony OTS and it looks very impressive, albeit different vibe to Celebrity. Does anyone have any experience of sailing RCL without kids?
We go back and forth between CC & RCL, always as a couple only. We use the diamond plus lounge for drinks and the 3 freebies in the clubs and dining room. Always have a great time, shows are #1 and music a plenty. We enjoyed the MDR but the buffet on our last cruise was a more casual choice and a good variety also. Sometimes a better price, especially booked ahead. Sailed the Oasis last time and would go back.

When wintering in Florida I always check the Celebrity site on Fridays and Saturdays for next day sailings and haven't been disappointed. We pack that night and leave next am. We've done this 4 times with great deals on guarantees and were upgraded twice. Once to OV and once to Aqua. Have to be ready to sail and who isn't.

On a recent Oasis of the Seas cruise, on the final evening, we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and a great buffet that included plenty of lobster and various seafood. On the 7 night cruise we dined there twice. Really impressed.

thanks all!

Hello, we are sailing on Oasis on Sunday and would like to know which deck and port or starboard to check in. Thanks.

With your cc stateroom you get lunch on embarkation day in the MDR and real priority embarkation. We really enjoyed this benefit. Have fun.

We stayed at Hotel Fita with a great breakfast included. Walking distance to Van Gogh and Rembrandt museums and also the tram behind the hotel. Many restaurants, canal nearby. Also felt quite safe walking anytime of day. The hotel has a few walk up steps and a lift. It was down once while we were there pre and post cruise so a gentleman carried our luggage to the second floor. Nice rooms and staff. Would stay again.

We were in Villefranche, a tender port, and when arriving from our tour to board the tender, a couple was there waiting with all their luggage. They had arrived late in Barcelona and missed the boarding. They may have been on a Celebrity arranged flight and got redirected, didn't ask but they did board a tender. I would call Celebrity to get an official comment.

We've sailed both lines frequently. The largest ship the Independence of the Seas. I must say the biggest difference for us is the welcome back feeling we receive on Celebrity. We recognize a lot of the staff and vice versa. Very comforting to see the officers out and about greeting passengers. Looking forward to our next European cruises.

We left Barcelona at the end of October and ran into Hurricane Thomas. The captain did his best to circumvent the rain and wind. The days were mostly grey but we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise none the less. It ended in Miami and we stayed aboard for a 5 night Caribbean cruise.

Loved our 10 night cruise on the Mercury back in 2005. Would do it again.

We had booked an inside guarantee and were assigned our stateroom the night before sailing. We checked our emails just before retiring for the night in our Ft. Lauderdale hotel. Surprise, we had been upgraded to an Ocean view. Patience sometimes pays off. Hope you get a good cabin assignment.

Late March 2006, we enjoyed a 12 night cruise on the Constellation, which was new at the time. Our 1st stop was Charleston, SC. We loved it. There was a great cruise critic thread, The Stars of the Constellation. We had our 1st aft cabin, wonderful. I would jump on the chance to do this type of cruise again. In Ontario, we are a short drive to the port of Bayonne and we also spent a day touring New York pre-cruise.

Good morning trainman-2. Your menus came out clear. I'm also an early riser and love to get pictures of empty venues. Can't beat the sunrise over the ocean. We will be sailing on December 4, our 1st time on Serenade but we have sailed on the other 3 of that class. They are beautiful ships. Thank you for your wonderful review and happy sailing. Johanne.

I also pack a product for blisters if you intend walking a lot. They are usually called second skin. They help in sensitive areas before you blister. Saved me on European cruises.

Check out the Celebrity cruise critic site. Miaminice is starting a review of the Mein Schiff, TUI cruise line, owned by Royal. He has a lot of pre boarding info. His cruise leaves on September 27th.
