  1. Without logging in, I saw the 5 night on the crown Nov 8th, for $49 inside and $69 OV. When I clicked through the rates jumped up to normal at first, but then if you kept going and selectees a cabin, there were just a few cabins at the rate. I'm already booked on a another ship, but I emailed a friend and they were able to jump on it! Crazy!

  2. I would go to the buffet. Plenty of choices, from light lunch (Horizon Bistro) to heavy lunch (Horizon Court)

Not to hijack the the thread but: I've often wondered if there were a difference between the two? Is that true? Bistro has "lighter" food than the Court?

  3. Sleeping arrangements should be one sofa bed and one upper berth.

Likely the two lower beds will have to be kept separated as twins else there will be no room for the ladder to the upper berth.

If you go to the online deck plans for Regal Princess

    https://www.princess.com/deckPlans.do?shipCode=GP&version=5

and click on your exact cabin the details will pop up.

That's not true of the minisuite we had on the lido on Regal last year. The main bed was kept pushed together for me and my husband. The sofa turned into a twin and the upper berth was over the sofa. It was essentially bunkbeds when made up with the long edge of the end against the wall. I can't remember where the ladder was but I think it was at the foot of the bunk bed near the balcony door.

  4. I love minisuites on the lido deck. So convenient to grab a drink, a quick bite or to go for a swim. We've stayed in L221 and this year L220.

There's a curtain between the bed space and the "living space" that you can pull for privacy. The sofa bed is made up into a single and the other twin pulls down from ceiling to make bunk beds, essentially. Each area has it's own TV.

    Enjoy!

  5. I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, but my OBC appears in 2 different places in my Cruise Personalizer. OBC I was gifted from my TA appears when I click the Payments/Credits tab. OBC that came from Princess PR is listed when I click OnBoard Reservations and scroll all the way down. Both are listed when I click Print Travel Summary from the Documents or Boarding pass pages. Interestingly if I try to book and pay for an excursion or dinner reservation, it will only apply the OBC from the TA.

  6. My reason in tracking them is to NOT watch them ahead of time so they'll be new to me on the ship. It always provides entertainment for when there's nothing else of interest.

I'm guessing that her husband will use this list to make sure he records things that are not being shown :D (Speaking from experience, as the wife of a guy who's favorite pastime is movie watching, preferably on the balcony of a ship)

  7. I believe room service is 24/7 and very good. It's no charge but I do tip $2-3 per order. They do have a standard menu but might do special requests, if asked nicely, provided they have the stuff to make it.

Any recent Room service menus? I've googled but couldn't find anything recent for the Regal.

  8. Yes! We absolutely loved it! The balcony was great! My only cabin compliant was that it was tight for a family of four. I have become accustomed (on other cruise lines) to the kids beds being the pull out sofa with a bunk above and on this ship with the pull out sofa and a bunk over the main bed. Which meant we smacked our heads every time we got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom!

  9. Can someone who has done the Blue Hole excursion from Falmouth comment on the time you spend in the van to get there? I know it can be a fun and informative drive, so looking for the actual time. Also, does it get expensive? I can't find prices on Marvyn's website.

    Thanks in advance!

  10. id greatly appreciate any insight as to this location. from what i gather the worse noise you may hear would be deck chairs in the AM. i'm thinking about a mini right in that area.

I don't recall even hearing that much! I think you will enjoy the location if you like the proximity to the pools, bars and buffet. It was wonderful being able to walk a few paces from room and grab a drink, a snack, quick dip in the hot tub at night, MUTS, breakfast in the am. Really enjoyed it. Did not feel excessive movement either, but our seas were very calm that trip.

  11. If they offer it this September, does it usually restrict to cruises far in the future? I am looking at Regal Nov 5th 2017 and not thrilled with current pricing/deals. Any chance that cruise might be eligible?

  12. I just hung up the phone with Princess, and was told this $100 cancellation fee was not correct that they originally sent me. It does follow what is in the passenge contract that the most you would lose is the deposit. They are suppose to be sending me a revised confirmation and/or a note, showing that $100 cancellation fee is not applicable.

It sounds like the IT department, changed the deposit amount to be $1, but not the cancellation schedule in the email confirmations, or maybe they did later in the morning, and I had booked before the change was in. Could explain why some others did not see it.

Once I get the revised email from them, I will try and post it here.

I hope this is true! I read the passenger contract when I booked this 30 minutes ago and this $100 fee was not noted anywhere that I read. I just saw the $100 per person cancellation fee and am LIVID. on hold with them now. It lists today as the day by which to cancel so I am hoping I can cancel without penalty if true.

It's totally bait and switch if true.

  13. I haven't been since 2010 and it was one of favorite stops! We rented a car for the day and went to Smugglers Cove, I think. Beautiful, wish we had stayed all day but we went to another beach, Brewer's Bay, it was past Cane Garden. There were some bars there and it had a very "green" lagoon feel. Very different than other Caribbean beaches.

  14. I think I would

    A) Stick to the plan to have them be no-shows

    but

    B) Call HAL now and ask if your daughter and mom can switch rooms. If they want a reason, you can say that your daughter decided she was uncomfortable sharing a room with her cousin. So you and daughter in Neptune suite and nephew and mom in the verandah. All taken care of ahead of time.

  15. I just ran a quick search on Budget for picking up at FLL at 9:00 AM and returning at 4:00 PM to the the 17th Street location (free shuttle to PE) and got a "Pay Now" total rate of $46.61 (without discount coded) for an Intermediate SUV or Full Size. Cab fare plus tip from FLL to PE will cost you almost half of that.

Great tip, thanks! You have been so helpful!

We are actually staying at the Magaritaville resort for one night when we return. I think the boys will love it!

  16. You could go to Embassy Suites on 17th Street and check your luggage with the bellman. They have a huge banquet room set up for this.

Then walk over to the Total Wine and pick up your wine.. then get on the Sun Troll and ride ( for free or cheap )! They pick up in front of that strip mall. You can check out their website and look at the routes and what attractions are on them. One place you may want to check out is Los Olas.

Then get dropped back off at the mall, walk to Embassy Suites, get your luggage from bell services, call for a XL Uber, and head to port.

Thanks! This is excellent advice. I did not realize that the Embassy Suites would hold luggage for non-guests!

  17. Hi all -

We are on the Nov 9 Koningsdam. I knew when we booked there would be a delay in boarding for necessary inspections, etc. We were told 2 pm instead of 1pm boarding. Now they have pushed boarding back further, with that staggered boarding will begin at 3pm, with various decks boarding in 30 min increments. So now I have a lot of time to kill with kids in tow.

    Questions:

    1) Will the terminal still open at 11 am?

    2) Can we drop off luggage leave and come back?

    3) We are considering "killing time" by taking our time getting luggage, grab a coffee at Starbucks, change kids into shorts etc. Then go have a nice big breakfast somewhere. Considering eating in a restaurant at a large hotel like the Hyatt Pier 66, so that we can wait in relative comfort in their lobby after eating. Thoughts? Other options I haven't thought of?

Note: I have looked into a day room, hubby said no. Thinks it's a waste of money and that boarding may begin earlier than 3 so we should just go to the terminal and wait.
