  1. Not really - Sometimes you have friends or relatives that are traveling together and they need each need a room with their own separate bathroom/shower/bed. Whatever keeps the peace and sanity, lol. :p

Ditto. Last cruise I shared a room with my best friend. She is a slob and I am a neat freak. By day 3 I started cleaning her side of the room b/c I couldn't deal with the clutter.

  2. I'm a bit surprised at this given that they are for solo travellers. Sort of defeats the object of them really.

No it does not. My best friend and I are both married. None of our husbands like to cruise. We want to cruise together but not share a room. I have kids so on cruises I sleep in until 9. She does the sunrise yoga at 5 am. Hence we prefer a connecting room.

  3. Not my first time cruising but first time with this line and first solo/studio cabin.

    I have some questions...

What happens if the price drops before final payment? Can I get the adjustment by just calling?

I noticed I can pick one of 4 special add on's for free. I don't drink so I was thinking about the wifi pkg. Is the speed decent?

    Can I prepay tips?

Where can I find a sample copy of what the daily activities are for the STUDIO CABINS.

Are any of the speciality dining restaurants open for lunch at no additional cost?

Can I make dinner reservations for the MDR?

  4. So I have decided on an NCL cruise and will be booking tonight or tomorrow. I am going with a friend of mine and we have decided on adjoining studio cabins.

I searched youtube and google and could not find any pics of these connected cabins. Any past passengers on here have any?

  5. So I have done the breeze and the others in my signature. I did the triumph right after its fire dry dock and was disappointed in the lack of modernization of the state rooms. The Elation also had very dated rooms. Having a nice room is important to me.

So besides the Vista and the Breeze what other ships have modernized state rooms? Flat panel TV's etc.

  6. We got a mini bus when we got off the ship. But beware, we wanted a taxi for ourselves but were told only a mini bus with about 15 people would go to M'bay. So our time frame was dictated by the group. We wanted to come and go as we wanted but it didn't work out that way. Still had a good beach day.

Do you roughly remember the cost per person? Also how did it work did the same taxi bring you back? Did and the group have to decide on a mutually agreeable time to return to the ship?

  7. Hooper,

I also thought I read that you can just go to the dinning room (NOT my time dinning) and just wait for a table?

We really didn't want to tip in advance for the "MY TIME DINNING" but hoping we could try and change our seating time or wait for a table?

    Thanks!!

This advice is incorrect, you cannot wait for a table. You have to go at your specified time. They will give you a few mins leway. 20 mins or so but it really throws off service the rest of your table mates.

  8. If you have a spa cabin you can use the Thermo pool, heated tile loungers, sauna and showers for free. You already have access to the spa. You will have to pay for any treatments you want but you will get priority booking of those treatments.

If you do not have a spa cabin then you need a spa pass to access the spa. With the spa pass you will get access to the hermo pool, heated tile loungers, sauna and showers for no additional cost. If you want spa treatments you pay the fee for those. It's the same cost regardless of whether or not you have a spa pass.

If you do not have a spa pass then you can book, pay for and get treatments (a la carte).

If you do not have a sap pass and you want to use the Thermo pool, heated tile loungers, sauna and showers you must buy a spa pass to do so.

  9. I did the 4 day cruise from Galveston to Cozumel and back. I had an awesome time (except for the rain). It was my first solo cruise and I had a great time meeting other solos. This was one of the 0% supplement cruises. I didn't enjoy the commedians (for the first time). We had no hot water the first night but that was resolved.

We did ATD and the service was quick unlike ATD on the Breeze earlier this yr. Menu was the same and we still had table cloths.

I am not a big writer so I am not going to do a review but I am happy to answer any questions you may have!

  10. I put together a mini photo tour of the Carnival Triumph after my June 2013 cruise on the ship. The goal of this tour is to help people see what the renovated and upgraded ship looks like.

My tour is divided into decks. I tried to include as many public spaces as possible. I included many of the new 2.0 features also.

Please enjoy and feel free to ask questions! I think the ship looks great and I had a great cruise on the ship!

So great you posted this. I scoured youtube this morning for recent videos and couldnt find much. Do you have any pics of the refurbished cabins?
