  1. I had the same attitude on our 14-day med cruise. We had some itinerary changes due to weather and we rolled with it. We missed the 2 days in Israel that triggered the initial purchase for us.... but we still went, we still had a grand time, and I'd have still been happy floating for 2 weeks (esp with that level of compensation)
  2. We can't control our circumstances, only the way we choose to react to them. You can have an angry outburst, or you can make lemonade. I walk on to every cruise with the attitude "even if they cancel my ports and I have 14 sea days... I'm being waited on, entertained, and I don't have to work. How bad can it really be?" 🙂 First world problems. heh.
  3. Original Itinerary was: 5/11 Vancouver 5/12 At Sea 5/13 Ketchikan (skipped) 5/14 Juneau (late) 5/15 Skagway 5/16 Glacier Bay (cancelled) 5/17 College Fjord (cancelled) 5/18 Whittier So looks like they cancelled Glacier Bay & College Fjord (last I heard) to let them get to Whittier on time....
  4. They'll fix it while underway most likely; if they need specific parts or personnel they can onboard that in Juneau.
  5. Skagway may still be tough; they're scheduled to dock at broadway which isn't possible in windy conditions (especially if they're having propulsion issues to start with). Maybe they'll tender (been there, done that after the rock slide), or let them swap berths with another ship given the circumstances.
  6. We opted to forego CFAW this time, unfortunately. Even if there are issues, I'll board that ship. I'm mostly looking forward to 2 weeks of being unplugged and not having to work. We've all been to Alaska except 1 of my daughters, and we're doing a 14-day b2b so odds are good she'll still get to see some decent scenery, make a stop or two, etc.
  7. We're hauling the whole family (including 15-mo old) up to Vancouver from Kansas City for the 6/8 bwb 14-day, so also keeping an eye on things. Hopefully they'll figure it out with several weeks between now and then, so I'm not terribly concerned.
  8. What's wrong with the salmon bake? or do you just not like fish? 🙂
  9. Which other operators have you looked at?

    Rome Cabs

When booking the private transfer with Rome Cabs, how do you know what time to tell them to pick you up at the port? E.g. ship arrives 6am (scheduled). I don't know if we'll be able to get off by 7, or 8, or 9am.... never taken an EU cruise; all our US cruises they have "group number" and they announce when each group is allowed to disembark, etc. So I really don't have much control (other than saying I'll carry my own luggage off to get in the first group).. but we still have to clear customs, etc.
