  1. We have the Specialty BOGO the first two nights

We have Izumi the 3rd night

We have MTD reservations the last 2 nights.

We don't have a formal night unless we have The Grande right? Cocktail or a little more casual dresses fine for me for all nights? DH one collared shirt and tie, otherwise slacks, button down or polo tops?

Thanks. Haven't done a 5 night and with the speciality reservations I just want to confirm.

  2. We're flying into Newark on Thursday prior to our Saturday Anthem cruise. We land around noon and are staying at BW Robert Treat.

Thursday we're looking for somewhere to eat near the hotel/Prudential Center (we plan on going to a concert there, show at 7:30, doors open at 6:30). We don't want super fancy, but something good and the reviews on Open Table and Yelp seem mixed as to places - any recommendations? We thought we could grab a snack near the hotel and then go out for an early dinner (5-5:30) and head to the show. Would prefer walking distance (up to about .75 mile ok, especially if near Prudential Center).

We plan to head to the Walgreens on Ferry Street in the time between the snack/dinner for any last minute supplies and wine (or a liquor store). I tried to read up on the liquor laws for NJ but it's confusing - just thought I'd ask and confirm that no wine available except at a liquor store? We'll be in Manhattan on Friday so I can pick up some there for the ship too.

Food wise we're open, like all cuisines and will probably be dressed in jeans/nice tops for the show. Since we're planning to go early, I assume we won't have to have reservations but we're fine if we need to make them. Full bar would be a bonus! Thanks

  3. Hi, we're on Anthem May 6 (Sat am) to May 11 (Thurs am). We're staying at the BW Robert Treat from 5/4-6. Question on each direction below - thanks for any advice!

Saturday am - looking at private car service (pick-up at 9 am at hotel)

    2 adults, 1 carry-on size, 1 26" checked bag (plus tote/backpack on us) - quotes around $ 69

    1) Is this the best option? Should we consider Uber (possibly lower cost) at this time of day as it's a Saturday?

Thursday am - pickup at 8 am to Newark - quote around $50

I realize it is a work day and more traffic on the return. We will do self-disembark (Diamond Plus on RCCL so we're familiar with the drill)

I have Amtrak to catch at 9:56 am so I would plan to have drop off at Terminal C and ride the monorail over (have ticket already). DH has a flight at 12:35 so he has plenty of time to get through security and to right terminal for departure.

    1) Private car service - best option? I've seen recent reports of Uber, but a Thursday morning makes me more inclined to have a pre-arranged car

    2) Is 8:00 a good pick-up time given my train time? Google maps shows typical commute at 25-40 minutes at this time.

Thanks! I'll be happy to report back on both journeys once we're back.

  4. We did a 14 night last summer. We brought formalwear (cocktail dresses and one long for the girls, guys rented tuxes) and about 5 other dresses. We had no issue re-wearing a casual dress to dinner but I think I only did once as we ate in the WJ a couple nights, JR one night and room service a night. We brought shorts and tshirts and sent those for the wash and fold. The girls washed their delicates in the sink using Tide sink packets and hung them to dry

For an 18 night trip from the US and back we checked one 26" bag, one 24" bag and had 3 19/20" carry-ons plus totes or backpacks. That was 4 of us, 2 adults and 17 + 18 year old teens

  5. For the love. I finally checked all my old "screenshots" of prices versus my "new" and talked to DH. When he called last week the lady actually sent us two confirmations. The first was her pricing (our then D7 balcony) with a "like" balcony and the price was higher. She got off the phone with him and then sent a second one that was the EXACT SAME PRICE as what I had booked.

So today, he called back again (final payment due Sunday) and we had to "release" our cabin and rebook (same confirmation number, all our reservations stayed the same) and we were back in a guarantee balcony. Before he got off the phone, she gave him the new cabin number and it IS a D5.

So we got the price drop, but had to call twice and release our assigned, back to a guarantee, and then got assigned a new cabin.

    Case closed. I hope. LOL

  6. Honestly, a glass of wine has less calories than most mixed drinks.

    .

Yes! As someone on myfitnesspal the best drink for the calories is usually red wine. Not that I've ever given up food to have that glass [emoji1367][emoji23]

  7. I purchased a balcony guarantee on 5-6-17 Anthem. Someone on our roll call indicated a price drop. I went in and repriced and could save $88 which would cover our specialty restaurants!

However, we've been assigned a D4 - it was assigned the day after I booked. Will that make a difference? As in will they not honor the drop from a guarantee to an "assigned category/cabin" which is around the same price. Just curious. Thanks

  8. We took Tide packets on our 14 day cruise on Indy. Didn't need anything else besides those. The sink stopper worked and we rolled the clothes in towels to get excess water out, then hung them on the hanger hooks out on the balcony chairs to dry quickly. We had an aft corner so it was huge, but we put the chairs right by the door so we could watch and make sure things didn't go flying away!

  9. We were upgraded on our 2nd RCCL cruise. We had booked a GS and were upgraded to an OS (the cost was still less than a Disney balcony at the time). I didn't know about price drops so I think we received it because the price did drop.

Since then we've become D+ and I just booked a 5 night balcony guarantee for Anthem in May. Next day I had a D4 assigned cabin. Gotta figure that was a mini upgrade cuz I expected to receive a D8 possible obstructed view!
