  1. Just confirming that the Champagne package is in FULL EFFECT for current cruisers for the holidays.

I have no idea when the promotion ends, but I pre-paid for the Ultimate Beverage package for our cruise on the Oasis on 11/8 and upon arrival I had a lovely bottle of champagne waiting for me in my stateroom and I was drinking Moet Chandon Champagne every night on my cruise!!!

--Thanks Andrei from the Champagne Bar on the Oasis - Memories to last a lifetime!!!

  2. Other than getting the limited edition bottle, why is this such a big deal? If you have the package wouldn't you get bottomless champagne anyway?

I have the ultimate package booked for our Jan 11 cruise so I guess I'll find out then if it is still available for that date, but I'm really confused why it is such a draw.

..I dunno... maybe it's the thought of getting to your cabin and seeing a bottle of champagne because you forgot it was part of a perk...

....maybe just a moment to feel special... it is after all a vacation!! ;)

  3. As someone who had issues with booked dining reservations all day for a cruise this coming week that just SUDDENLY disappeared this morning...

YEAH, RCI is going thru some IT troubles yet again...

Welcome to the party... the party that knows where TECHNOLOGY is not always the greatest in the hands that DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT!!!!

  4. Deck 6 on the Allure of the Seas is a great place for a cabin as I had it on my Allure cruise back in 2011.

I am not sure about your reason to not want to try deck 6, it is one of the 'preferred' decks by many people who love the Oasis class of ships. I can tell you from my own previous experience on Deck 6 that you are CLOSE to everything, and you will hear NO NOISE from the boardwalk or the promenade, if that is your worry.

With only a month before your sailing, and in a Grand Suite, I would take the vacation and RUN!

  5. My cruise goes to Falmouth Jamaica next week... and after reviewing everything that I have read on these boards and in the news about the Chikungunya virus, I decided the best course of action was to purchase a small bottle of Deep Woods OFF! at my local drug store and put it in my luggage.

Better to have some protection against the little buggers than nothing at all!!

  6. latest RCI Website glitch (if I can even call it that...)

I'm sailing the Oasis in 4 days and ALL of my dining reservations are GONE...

    WIPED OUT...

No one exist - were linked to our parties on my sailing since we're sailing for my in-laws 50th anniversary and this morning I just go to PEEK on everything, since everything was PERFECT Monday night and

    NOPE...,

all but one dining reservation still exists on my reservation... my 150 Central Park that was just booked over the weekend. All my other specialty restaurants and MTD reservations WIPED...

I now get to spend my day at the office SCREAMING at RCI to resolve this...

and with 4 days until sailing, of course the website says NO modifications can be done...

To the OP - CALL RCI - Get a Manager and GOOD LUCK! sometimes technology is NOT the best solution!!

  7. Hi, we were on the westbound TA, we heard that it was having a grand opening on October 8th.

I think you mean November 8th, since it was not open on the TA...

    BUT....

but I'm here to correct you since I'm on the 11/8 sailing and had a reservation for Izumi and about a week ago and received an email about my Izumi cancellation and how I was going to get an OBC credit for the inconvenience.

so yes, it was believed that IZUMI was going to be reopened shortly after dry-dock, but I think they needed some more time moving it from deck 16 to deck 4. I'm still hoping that is IT open next week...if it is, I will let you know when I return. ;)

  8. OK, this might seem like a crazy question and it may have been asked before me and I'm sorry I didn't dig deep enough into the realms of CC, but.... If you have the Ultimate Drink Package and you decide to go to 150 Central Park for dinner and get the wine pairing, is that included in the drink package, or is there some minimal surcharge for the addition of the wine pairing??

    TIA!

    ;)

  9. With the Oasis JUST coming out of dry dock and having her first cruise since a revamping, I think waiting for feedback would be your best bet. Having said that, I am on board the Oasis in just 3 weeks, and having been on the Allure, I can say the bedding is devine and I know I'm looking forward to sleeping in some mornings on board.

As Clarea also mentioned there are 20 dining venues on board - You must also take into account everyone's food palates are not the same; where I might think the pizza is garbage, you might love it. Everyone has their own opinions...

Your BESTEST BET - Go on vacation and enjoy yourself!!

    Happy Sailing!

  10. I am so disappointed in RCI for getting rid of the Viking Crown lounge on the Oasis - This had to be my favorite lounge to gather with friends and family on our last cruise and I was very much looking forward to seeing again on our upcoming cruise.

I think it's a SHAME that a staple of what made RCI what it is today is being REMOVED from its ships for more SUITE perks for the wealthy.

Did RCI stop and think about the people who save up to go on your cruise ship and the monies they save for MONTHS/WEEKS/YEARS in order to have a nice vacation... Thanks for not caring about the little folks and only caring about the $$$$$$$$$
