  1. I don't believe the Pat & Diane tour includes a beach. When I looked into it, you took a boat from the marina. That being said, it probably has better reef access regardless of weather conditions. We chose P.C. and were more than satisfied. It had everything we could have wanted... a reef near shore, reasonably priced food and drinks, and a secluded beach. Here's some pictures.

Nice pictures! One thing I wanted to add regarding PC. The swim out to the reef is pretty far, so if you tire easily, a boat might be a better option.

  2. I just booked an Inside GTY with only a 24% supplement (double occ is currently $849). Plus there is a $115 Inside or $225 Outside Crown & Anchor savings certificate, which will hopefully get added on top of the $100 OBC deal I found at a major online TA. Taxes/fees are only another $77. Nice ship and itinerary (5 ports)--I did a very similar cruise on the Jewel (sister ship) 3 years ago, and for more money. A 13 nt cruise for under $1K (assuming the 2 OBC deals come through) seemed too good for me to pass up, especially since I'm from the Boston area and am saving 1 flight.

When I just rechecked the same TA website, the Inside GTY is gone but OV GTY is still available, though that happened before and the Inside GTY came back, so maybe it will again. OV is still a great deal, especially with the $225 certificate. But if this is any indication of availability, you should act fast. Good luck!

I booked a similar TA a few months ago. Balcony for around $900 after SC. The deals are out there!

  3. and i see this excursion in the general listing of excursions but neither of my booked cruises in Oct or Dec which both stop at Nassau have Balmoral. is anyone seeing it specifically for their cruise dates?

It is available for our cruise in August.

  4. OMG! What happened. I mean to go up to over $2,800.! Either this was a happy hour special for the record books or someone screwed up the rates.

Sorry to all of you who missed out on this deal. I think someone really screwed up the rates. When have you ever seen a 3 day cruise for $28 (before taxes) and a deposit of $3 ? I never have. They new pricing looks like a mistake as well and should come down.

  5. I just got off the phone with Princess. They claim they are working on the promotion today and erroneous confirmations were sent out. They are working currently to fix the problem and will send new confirmations once it is fixed. Recommend you watch your bookings over the next few days and insure your prices are correct...Stay tuned cuz I get the feeling this is not over...

I just received a new confirmation with the correct (original) pricing. Thank goodness!

  6. I found the following regarding that cabin. Hope it helps.

I would take 2470 in a heartbeat over 2477. The entrance into 2477 will be inside a door leading into a small foyer like area with 2 more doors. One for 2477 and one for 2475. We have had 2470 on our most recent 2 cruises and our friends have had the matching cabin 2473 twice. Cabin 2470 is much larger than the standard OV cabin. Cabin 2477 will have a funky shape and not near the extra floor space that 2470 provides. Either cabin will experience some shuttering in rough seas or when entering and leaving port. It was of no concern to us and did not have any negative impact on our experience. I have plenty of pics of 2470 as well as a video. It's our favorite cabin and will trying to book it again in the future.

Thanks for posting this. I wanted 2470, but it is already booked.

  7. I've been spoiled with balcony cabins and I am very reluctant to give them up. But today I just found a great bargain! Celebrity has balconies and concierge class balconies on sale for a very good price for 2 of their spring transatlantics. I have a 24 hour hold on one of the larger balcony (it's "on the hump" as they say) C2s on the Eclipse 13-day between Ft. Lauderdale and Southampton for a total including taxes of $1527. As a solo!

Extra large balcony, concierge class (fruit bowl, bottle of champagne, footstool on balcony etc. included, plus more importantly an extra cruise credit vs. regular balcony)--and the chance to spend the weekend in London once I get there before flying home. What's not to love?

Only reason I haven't taken it off hold and paid for it is I'm still debating whether I really want to gain all that weight again like I did on my last cruise! :)

I'm eyeing the Celebrity Silhouette (new ship). Total $1,285.73 (solo balcony) 15 days- Fort Lauderdale to Rome in April. Airfare is decent as well.

  8. Did your TA give you some of your onboard credit?

I got $50 from RC, I am Emerald and do not really have any idea of how that all works. I know on Celebrity everyone boasts about Elite or better, I just enjoy the cruise I am on!!

Talk soon, and yes I am also over on the roll-call.

    what is your name?

    Just curious,

    Kathleen

ps I think we have several solos on board this cruise!!

What dining did you select? Maybe we could dine together. I hate going to the bufffet....

My name is Laura and I live in VA. The $225 was in the form of a savings certificate from RC (comes off the total price of the cruise). The $100 OBC was from the TA. See you on the roll-call.

  10. Outstanding, maybe the upgrade fairy will visit next.

Did you get an obc from both your TA and the cruiseline?

    We should talk on board!!

    K

Oh, I hope the upgrade fairy visits!! I received a $225 savings certificate and a $100 OBC. I will be emerald after this cruise. Did you register for the M & G? Looks like a big group. Come on over to the roll-call to chat.

  11. I think we got the same deal!! I just booked this as well. My price was a tad higher but I prepaid the gratuities!! and they gave me an obc.

    woot woot.

I booked an ocean view guarantee that they assigned quickly. So I called and moaned about being up front, port holes instead of windows, under the anchor.. and low and behold I got moved just back of midship!! Still deck 2, but I do not mind. So looking forward to a bonus day in Aruba and all those wonderful days at sea.

This is my check on whether I can do a transatlantic. I think so, and from what Ive been reading, if you wait a bit, you can get great deals. so maybe 2014!!

    See you on board!!

    Kathleen

I was assigned a cabin this morning and like you, it was a forward on deck 3 with portholes. I emailed my TA and was switched to an aft O/V with a picture window. So, I am happy!!!

  12. And, for what it's worth, I checked the Choice Air site (that's the flights you get through the cruise line if you sail on RCCL, Celebrity or Azamara) and flights for me (Tampa to San Juan, then London to Tampa) were only $638 earlier tonight if I remember correctly. So that makes it a very affordable cruise. Except that I'm really afraid I'd gain as much weight on that one as I did on my transatlantic cruise this fall...I think I need to do cruises with lots of port days to walk off the calories! :)

    Those are great quotes. ENJOY!

  13. Also, there is a second lock "deadbolt" on your cabin door and when locked, no one can access your cabin except security with special tools. I know this cause I accidently locked my husband out of the cabin one night while he was playing poker and it took a special call to security to unlock the door.
