Can someone please explain how reducing the specialty dinners from three to two helps with social distancing?  What a load of bologna!

Don't know if it helps with social distancing, but since some reported that they couldn't get reservations to use their free dinners, it might help there.

I don’t hire staff in my castle to bring me things.  In all seriousness, I believe most of us would rather do certain things ourselves.  It’s just as easy, or easier, than to call and ask a butler do it for us.

I remember staying in the first Haven cruise on the Breakaway.  We were maybe 15 steps from the Haven bar.  My GF wanted a drink and called the Butler to “fetch” it for her.  Meanwhile, I walked out to the bar, had a drink and got one to take back to her in the Suite before the Butler delivered the one she called about.

Mostly, it just makes no sense to use a Butler for certain things.

I remember one of my butlers telling me about another passenger.  It seems as though the couple would put the coffee in the coffee maker, but would call the butler to push the button.

Am I the only person to ever try and stop snacks from coming?   While I enjoy chocolate covered strawberries, they are so over rated IMHO.  It was those fishy sandwiches I tried to stop LOL

No, I stop them as well.  First I let the pre-Concierge know I don't want them and then reinforce it with the Butler when I get on the ship.  Only a couple times in all my cruises have they been delivered by mistake.

They keep saying it is taking so long because there are so many refunds to process.  If that were true some people should have at least started to receive funds

I think that is one reason.  Another is that many are disputing it with credit card companies and it takes time to research and third and thus holding up the process more, I think they want to hold on to the money, just like the other cruise lines, for as long as they can.

Absolutely.  It was made very clear in the beginning that the policies would be enforced.  In my example everyone was encouraged to review the social media policy, policies that relates to publishing information about daily operations or audience restricted material, along with our medical privacy policies.

I just can't figure out why it is such a big deal to some, since so many companies have this policy.  Maybe some aren't in the business world where this is a standard policy.

DelRio is the worst thing that ever happened to NCL.  He wasn't supposed to get the job after NCL's Oceania acquisition but former CEO Kevin Sheehan had a problem (I know what it was) that caused him to step down.  The Oceania people then took over NCL.  NCL's customer disservice has to be the worst in the industry.

NCL has lost a lot of formerly loyal customers as a result of the 90-day refund debacle they have instituted.  I will never cruise on  NCL again and they can keep my platinum level status.

Bye, bye, NCL.  I will not miss you.

I'm sure NCL has lost some customers including yourself, but they have probably gained the same amount or more and I base this on the fact that all my cruises have been full.  I've also notice that a lot of posters who said they would never cruise on NCL have come back and are posting they are cruising with NCL like nothing ever happened.

There are always going to be those that like a cruise line and those that hate a cruise line, but in the end it all seems to balance out.

Kevin Sheehan also made some decision that were not customer friendly; i.e., getting rid of lobster in the MDR, so it wasn't all roses with him either.

Social distancing on a cruise ship would be very hard to do. Most people aren't doing it here in NY, I went food shopping and couldn't believe how people are so close to one another. They are supposed to be wearing face masks and they are not following that either. There are those people who still want to do what they want to do.

Not just New York, same thing happening her in Arizona.

Weird situation and would love some thoughts.  We were scheduled to cruise Alaska May-June in 2 Haven family Suites.  My MIL moved the cruise to next summer.  My daughter was going with us (last family vac)  but will be married by then so we are trying to figure out how to have her fiance/husband come with us, without breaking the bank!  We are booked as a family of 6 (includes daughter) which is the max for the room.  No way we can afford to book another Haven cabin.  We were were thinking we'd book an inside cabin, but only put him on that room, and leave my daughter on the Haven reservation, so we'd pay for and she can enjoy perks and he can be in the Haven with us as a guest, but she'd go sleep in the inside cabin with him.  We have cruised in the Haven before, and I can't impagine Haven staff would give us a hard time about him being in the lounges etc with us - and he'd have the full drink package etc.   HOwever it feels weird, knowing that we get to know Butler/barterder/concierge etc. pretty well so it would be obvious we had another person around all the time not booked in Haven.  I can't imagine they'd complain...I don't even feel like we'd be doing anything wrong, but wondered what official rules are on guests in Haven....we've always kept to oursleves so before I book, just tossing it out to see if anyone thinks this sounds like a reasonable plan, or if I am overlooking a potential issue?

I doubt he will be able to go anywhere but your suite.  You might be able to ask the Concierge if he can eat a few meals, which you might have to pay for, in the Haven restaurant.  The reason non-Haven guests are not allowed in the pool, lounge, etc. is because if everyone brought a guest or two, there would not be enough room for those that actually paid for the benefits.  Think about it, would you like to go to the pool or lounge and not be able to find a lounger or seat because others brought guests who are not paying for the benefits....I know I'd be really ticked off and would be complaining.

But people have already posted the letters they got from the banks on another site showing no payment due for the next three months, but in month 4, you have to pay the full amount due for all four months.  Most people are living paycheck to paycheck as it is.  Coming up with four months worth of payments right after being furloughed or laid off is impossible for most.

I don't know why the banks just don't add those payments to the back of the mortgage.  The banks wouldn't be losing anything and the folks won't have to try and come up with four months mortgage all at once.

And I'm sorry you don't understand the difference between facts (what I posted from actual experience) and the hearsay (the report of another person's words) you posted. And LOL at the idea you have a clue of what I got! My Amex message says: " In these situations, we may rebill your account."   Rebill my account, not take back my temp credit.

But say you are right and they do "rebill my account". What do you think they will say if I tell them to "wait 90 days, interest free"?

When I disputed a charge, not mine, with my Visa.  They removed the charge off the account and said I wouldn't have to pay it or any interest until it has been investigated, they said that they will investigate the charge and if it is found that I did make the purchase, they will "rebill" my account, because that is how they get the charge back on the Visa.  Of course, it was not my charge, so they didn't "rebill" my account.

I didn’t suggest that NCL would win. All I was saying is that typically if you file a dispute and have funds credited back to you the next day, it’s usually a temporary credit that is subject to being taken back upon investigation.  For the record, I agree with you in that NCL doesn’t have much footing to stand on to fight this.

I think folks are getting confused when someone says they won or got a credit.  When you dispute a charge, the bank will pull the charge off the account so you will not have to pay at least the minimum payment for it or incur any interest on the amount.  The bank then sends communication to the company involved and the company then has x amount of days to respond and then the bank will make the decision.  After the company has responded to the bank and the decision is made, if you won, then you will get that amount and then can use those dollars.  If you lose, the bank will put the charge back on your account and you will have to wait for the refund.  When I have disputed items, it has taken thirty to sixty days to get a letter from my bank with their determination as to whether the charge is correct or not.

Depends on your income. If you make less than $75,000 if single.. $150,000 if married... you will see something.

I knew that and am eligible.  The posters information was incorrect, not all the checks went out this week, they are being sent out in batches based on income of the person receiving the check, so I'll have to wait some weeks.

The government said we will start to send out stimulus checks yesterday, mine was in the bank by 11. If the government can issue 325.000.000 checks in a day ncl can do a 100000. The government isn’t a retail industry that does this daily like NCL. I think with those checks the cruise line just lost there 90 day argument.

Wow, they sent them all out in one day.  I must not be getting one, cause there was nothing in my checking account.

Edit:  I looked it up and they didn't send all checks out all at once.  They are batching them, based on receivers' income.  First to come are the lowest income bracket, so it was 50 million to 70 million checks that were sent out.

In April NCL told me to check with my credit card company because they claim they paid my shore excursions ($151.20) 3/10/2020.  I filed a dispute claim & received reimbursement shortly afterwards; however, NCL claim beverage/dining/prepaid service charges ($568.80) refunds are still pending.  I was told 7-10 business days for refunds & so far 25 business days have gone by for refund of gratuities/prepaid service charges.  I can’t help but feel NCL is giving us the runaround.

Didn't comment on what their intensions are, just that it is best to be honest about them offering a refund, so it doesn't look like you were hoping to double dip.
