1. PS there is a Palm beach which is the main beach by big hotels, and there is De Palm island. They are two different places with totally different sort of beaches and things to do

Sent from my SCH-I915 using Forums mobile app

Thanks for the info. It was DePalm Island I was looking for

  2. [QUOTE=Fouremco;41407620]Interesting question. When I first started using the site, everything was quoted in Canadian dollars and I simply accepted that. I don't recall ever having the option of USD quotes or payments.

I have never seen the option of Cdn/US quotes on line, but if I talked to the X rep or booked onboard, I always had the option

  3. GREAT photos...

I wondered about the "Silly" part...

    Now, I know!!!!!!! :p

Hey, NEXT Saturday, if you are at the same place, I will waving to you on the ECLIPSE from the very same place..Usually, I am port side but, I will look, and, wave next Saturday from the starboard side of the ECLIPSE.... ;)

I also wonder who starts these silly names, Silly, Connie, So where do we go with the Century, Cennie?? or Summit, Summie, Eclipse, Eclipsie etc. and as some else asked what would we call the Titanic.????

  4. I smile as I read this thread, to this point in time I've no issues with X 's email or phone service. then again I don't have too many questions after I book. As for info on FORMAL NIGHTS (the most talked topic) if you can't find the answers ( after a little research) on this site, they don't exist.

  5. ]QUOTE=shoelover536;41302528]Inclusion of drink packages (and possibly other add ons) into the cruise fare?

Seems that the free classic with 123 go could be them testing this, since prices often go up during the times when the promotion is offered and it is still a success. It could be they were gauging whether having this included was something people like, which a lot of people (myself included) seem to. Just a thought.

I think it's only a matter of time and some forum of the drinks package will be included in the cruise fare.

  6. Noticed you are from Canada (like me), did you book in US$ or in CAD$ ?

    I haven't found a good on-line agency that gives prices in CAD$ .

My upcoming Celebrity I booked by phone with the cruise line (because web booking was a disaster). I might be looking to book another with this promo.

Hi, I am from Canada as well, It's been my experience US online TA's will only book in USD. They normally have better perks but you have to weigh the extra perks against the exchange rate and right now it will run about 10% ( exchange and cc rate) and they do charge a cancellation fee.:)

  7. And heerrre we go!!!!

Let the b!+&%ing, second guessing, how come they didn't...., they should have..... begin!!!!

I agree, people either don't understand what they are reading or they jump to conclusions. I am elite and don't expect to get any higher, so I'm happy with the benefits I receive. If some people received the SHIP as a benefit they would complain that it should have been painted. So X can't please everyone.

  8. Is it possible to book the two cabins splitting me and OH, one in each cabin, along with either Mum or Sis then just switch when onboard or at check in? That way both cabins would get the captains Club discount.

There's always a way to beat the system, and then we complain when we think the cruise line is nickel and diming us.

  9. I agree with all the comments on the above posts. When we started cruising some 20+ years ago formal night was part of it. But I believe formal night over the next number of years will disappear on the mass carrier ships, Celebrity, Carnival, RCI etc. People today treat this class cruising as somewhat of a resort vacation where dressing up is a shirt and long pants. We don't go to formal nights anymore, can't be bothered with taking the extra clothes and now there are good alternatives for dinner. Will we ever see the day when crusing becomes totally all inclusive.
