I’ve seen a 7 ounce filet mignon for $19 every night in the main dining room, but again, it could very ship to ship ?

You can find these upcharge dishes on every ship in the fleet.

I'm looking at cabins on the Dolphin Deck (deck 9) on the Emerald Princess. I see it is right above the Emerald Deck, which is where the lifeboats are stored. Do the lifeboats obstruct the Mini-Suite views on the Dolphin deck?

    No worries.

Looks like there is a lot of variety from one ship to the next. I admit I have never seen Fish&Chips on an always available menu, but I'd like to run into it on one of my cruises! The Lamb Rogan looks like a nice alternative also.

This is what you get when you cruise from Southampton Just more UK dishes.

It's been a rare occurrence in the last few years that an included steak has been on the menu, except for the one with the lobster tail.

Recently, this Cowboy Strip Loin Steak was daily available in Royal Princess MDRs as an always available dinner dish at no extra charge:

And last summer on the Regal Princess, a Grilled New York Strip Steak was daily available with no surcharge:

We had a forward facing mini-suite on the Discovery to Hawaii (see post #12) above.  We loved it.  If you find an evening that you are in port, or just leaving port, the forward facing balconies can be extremely nice for the UBD.  Ours was nearly perfect.

Hawaii instead of Norway makes a big difference.

The Sky Princess in Olden 2022

Norway can be very chilly, even in summer.

We have a forward facing balcony, so lots of room to spare.

Oh well, that's not the best place for a balcony dinner. It will be extremely windy.

And keep in mind that the weather in Norway can be unpredictable and really really wet.

The front facing balconies on the Sky are not covered.

one would assume the chef's on Princess cruises wouldn't serve raw or undercooked meat..

Well, of course they do if you want. Just like many other restaurants.

Some people like their steaks just rare.

Beef tartare is coming with raw beef and raw egg.

Fish is sometimes undercooked to not dry it out too much.

And remember all sushi dishes are raw fish.

For our Princess visits however we’ve always had tenders take us to the town’s harbour.

I was in Mykonos on the Regal Princess in 2022 and we docked at the berth.

The Norwegian Epic was there in the morning but cancelled the port (high winds). The MSC Sinfonia was also there, they had to tender.

By the way, the drinking age on Princess is 21, so the 18 year old will not be able to purchase alcoholic beverages with the Plus package either.

No. The Sun is in Europe in August.

"When sailing from North America, the legal drinking age on Princess Cruises is 21. However, when sailing from Europe, Asia, South America, Australia and New Zealand, the legal drinking age is 18."

So what’s the truth on this port? Is it really just an issue with tenders like Santorini, or is there a miscalculation by Princess on the ships ability (due to size and LNG requirements) to call on this port?

Ships have to pass through a very narrow channel to get to the anchorages near Kotor. Perhaps Sun is just too big to safely navigate this channel.

The biggest ship that stopped in Kotor so far was the Norwegian Epic (330 m long, 40.6 m wide). That's pretty much the size of the Royal Class ships.

Sun Princess is 345 m long and 47 m wide. So yes, the Sun may be too big for the channel.
