Haugesund itself has not much to offer, so scenic fjord cruising was a very good option to spend the day instead. They will not let you go on the ship. Princess even enforces the 6 months rule when sailing sorely in countries that don't have this rule. It's a passenger contract thing.

So what's wrong going down that trail instead of waiting 90+ minutes in line for the cable car?

One question about Santorini: If you book a Princess tour, do they also tender you down to the cable car / trail? There is no bus access down there. And also not up there (no roads). If a tour ends near the upper station, going the trail down seems not to be a problem. (of course, for older passengers, it is). Going the trail up I would hate. 🤣

No worries. I'm sure the shore excursion desk will have tours available for you. Website isn't that fast. Even the Princess app shows tours sometimes as sold out or doesn't even show them at all when on the ship, but at the shorex desk they still have it.

The Princess tour description (under excursion details) sais: "Drive from California Lighthouse to the beach" Travel time: 00:20 and "Drive from beach back to Cruise Ship" Travel time: 00:20 So it must be a west coast beach half way between the lighthouse in the north and the cruise pier. So my guess is Palm Beach (where Hyatt Regency, Marriott and Ritz are located).

Well, after all it seems we will never see the Sun Princess in Kotor Bay. Yes, there are ship tours to Kotor from Bar. But it's a 1:30h drive each way to get to/from there by bus.
