    Thanks for the replies

I read up some other ships they could be removed but it doesn't look like it on the Epic it seems. Looks like we'll get ourselves some travel bed rails and our 2 year old can sleep on the sofa bed.

    thanks again!

When our son was little, we rolled extra towels and tucked them under the fitted sheet. Worked perfectly

We are booked on the Bliss in Dec 23 for a 15 day Miami to LA PC cruise.  The ports seem the same except we get off in LA.  There is a reverse of this the next two weeks, then back again.  The Bliss mainly stays on the west coast for Mexican Rivera and AK cruises.

I plan on having a follow along thread here, and will invite others to join in when we get a few weeks from leaving.

The new Panama City cruise terminal is supposed to be finished before the start of December.  That will be a report in itself.

We looked at that one as well, but DH wanted to go to Seattle. So we are doing the 21 day on the Encore

We just booked the 22 day sailing departing on 10/29/2023 from Seattle on the Encore. NCL had a great Memorial Day sale and we nabbed a balcony stateroom with the angular balcony at a great price.

This is almost the exact reverse of the one we have booked. You will have to post after, and let us know how it went. Especially if there are things you recommend.

OBC is the worst possible use of points,as the others have pointed out.

best use is cabin upgrade.  Check the difference in Inside rates vs ocean view.  30,000 points to go up one category or 60,000 for double upgrade.  Highest you can upgrade to is a BA.  You cannot upgrade from an X category, unless that’s changed recently.

use you CC onboard and receive 3 points/$ then get a statement credit for charges.  One way you get zero new points, the other you get triple points for your next redemption.

BTW, there is a sticky dedicated to the NCL M/C

Just did this. We booked an OV for a 21 day Panama Canal voyage and used points to upgrade to a balcony. Only took about 10 minutes on the phone and saved over $2000

  5. I was able to unpack once and travel to a variety of wonderful new places.

The fabulous views of the huge expanse of nothing but ocean. It always makes me realize how much more there is to discover.

There are so many different types of coffee packaging these days, and I'm already paying a fortune for this trip, so out of principle I refuse to bring my own supples.  If they only have decaf on my trip, they will be hearing from my lawyer.

I actually only brought my own for my husband’s benefit.

If they only had decaf on our May cruise, he would be swimming to shore each morning. 😂. I’m not a fan of NCL coffee.

Since the cruise is 21 days I wouldn’t think you’d have too many families with small children but I’m not positive.  Also, I wouldn’t expect it to be at 100% capacity but again I don’t really know for sure.  I’d love to read some trip reports on this itinerary but I haven’t found any.

I haven’t found any trip reports either, other than what @YVRteacher posted above. I know we have some different ports, but it’s nice to get an idea.
I found a roll call for the 2024 cruise which is quite active. Hopefully one of them will write a review/trip report.

    Hi,

It gives us plenty of time to plan and dream about it.   This will be the longest cruise we’ve taken.   We’re  trying to decide what type of cabin to book.  We had a Haven booked for a 7 night Caribbean on the Escape but we wanted to do something on our bucket list instead.  We can’t afford a Haven cabin on this ship.  I’m hoping since it’s a 21 night cruise that it will not be at 100% capacity and we will be able to spend some time at the pool.    I think I’m going to book a balcony cabin.  Which type of cabin did you book?   I didn’t see a roll call yet but I hope we get an active one.  It’s so much fun to get to know everyone.

    Thanks

    Sue

We booked a balcony cabin. We looked into the Haven also, but couldn’t justify the cost difference. We wanted to be able to spend on the excursions instead.
I plan on buying Vibe passes when they become available, that way we can avoid some of the crowds. Although, also hoping it’s not at 100% occupancy. Do you know if these long cruises are usually full?
