  1. No skin off my nose how and what people spend their money on. Don't get miffed when these "perks" that you pay for doesn't pan out. Was greeted at the door when on the Legend in Alaska by a waiter and a foo-foo- drink. Went to Lido, waiters walking around with the foo-foo drinks. You cannot tell me that you have never stood in line debarking at a tendered port. :D As far as getting off the ship to go home, just show your boarding pass at GS and your early flight, and you will get a tag that will let you off early.

So far I guess I've been lucky ... but I have yet to experience the things you describe with FTTF. For me I get great value from it and gladly pay the nominal fee.

I'm sure we all have things on cruises that we would never buy. We all have different priorities, budgets and/or expectations. I for one have not, nor ever will, buy photos from the ship. We take our own pictures and are satisfied with that.

    Happy cruising!

  2. Thanks for a wonderfull read Jack. I'll need to remember to read your future reviews without food or drink as I had at least 2 mishaps while reading! No worries I was able to save the keyboard from the coffee spray!

Like a previous poster (hi Denise!) My wife and I were on the Miracle to HI in Jan of 2014. We loved the ship!

We are in the throws of planning a trip on the Miracle for next summer as a graduation gift for our youngest daughter. After reading this we may opt for this itinerary instead of our usual Cabo x2/PV choice.

    Thanks again and happy sailing!

  3. As a smoker myself I'm actually glad Carnival banned smoking on balconies. I can book cheaper staterooms and have more $ in my wallet.

I agree that smoking on balconies impedes others around me from enjoying the balcony they paid extra for. Unlike most defined smoking areas where a non smoker can avoid it...on balconies they can not.

I'm sure I'll be flamed for this but I'm a believer in compromise and the current rules IMO achieve that. I can only hope they deal more stringently with rule breakers or its going to lead to more restrictions.

  4. Does FTTF cost Carnival anything? No. In that I agree. Should Carnival be vilified for offering it? No. I think it's a very smart business move on their part.

For me personally... I will get it everytime. I hate lines. I hate waiting. So removing that stress improves my vacation. I feel the price is fair and I can afford it.

Besides...the evil side in me loves the dirty looks when I walk up and get immediate service in front of folks who have waited in line for an hour. 😈
