  1. If doing all these new builds leads to the problems they are having on the 1st sailing of HOTS, then I am fine with the way Carnival is doing it vs the way Royal is. They get the ship a month early and instead of finishing it off jam in sailing while still having 1,000 contractors on the ship. While Carnival had issues with the Sunshine when she first came out, much different circumstances then this.

Compare HOTS first sailing to the first sailing of the Vista and the results are quite interesting,

The Carnival Sunshine still has issues and has dropped 5 percentage points in the last 6 months to a low of 59 % of people loving it here on Cruise Critic, the lowest in the Carnival fleet...

  2. You miss the point, it's their ballgame and their ball. They make and set the rules. Your only play (which I believe from reading your posts you already do) is to spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere (and potentially let them know why).

As in your past posts, some are completely not understandable, as this post of yours is, and has no relational input to the OP's post. You miss the point, but as a Carnival defender, that is understandable in having no rational input... As you have said many times, "we can move on". Try to make some sense in your posts and stick to the OP's post. Movin' on...

  3. OK, I will share my thoughts a little more. This has nothing to do with Red and Blues wandering around the ship. This is more of a loyalty cruise.

Let me explain; each year one ship is selected for one cruise for only those that are loyal to Carnival. That would be, Diamond, Platinum and Gold (or those that need a few days at sea to obtain Gold Status). This cruise would cost more than a similar cruise at that time; that is, one that is available to anyone regardless of the color of their Sign & Sail card. But the benefits to those on this charter would see benefits unlike anything offered before by Carnival, i.e. Concerts, high profile comedians (George Lopez, etc), reduce drinks or cheers prices, high quality branded merchandise, special dining menus, and list goes on and on. All with no additional costs.

I think this would be a perfect program during the slow cruising season, while at the same time appreciating those cruisers dedicated to Carnival.

I guess I could not go on said cruise because although I am Carnival platinum, I cruise other lines and not loyal to Carnival. I would not pay more to be on a cruise with other Carnival dedicated loyalists and George Lopez ain't funny. No additional costs??? How??? Anyhows, I like the Blues..."You got to suffer if you want to sail the Blues"

  4. Forgive me for being slightly suspicious, but we were on a cruise where the steward "forgot" to bring us chocolates (and we were too polite to complain) and then shortly after JH announced that chocolates had been discontinued because "testing" showed no one missed them.

Carnivals chocolates used to be real chocolate, then they down graded them so much that when they did their surveys they got the answer they wanted...That's how we got to no chocolates...
