  1. We both need a CPAP, plus 2 phones, a watch, an iPad and headphones, that makes 7 things to charge, never had a hotel with that many plugs, especially not in one place. And since we have different plugs, only one adapter is needed for the power strip. On the ship, that‘s less of a problem, as we usually won‘t need all those things at the same time. After a 10h flight, it’s a different story and we‘re then only 1 night at each hotel.
  2. Are regular extension cords even prohibited? I thought it‘s only power strips that are not allowed. That‘s what I use while traveling, because I then only need one adapter to plug in the strip and all my phones and other stuff I can plug in with their regular plugs. Also many hotels don‘t have that many plugs to begin with. Since I need it before the cruise and it doesn‘t fit in the CPAP bag, hand luggage is probably easier than putting it in the checked luggage.
  3. Already ordered the cord and distilled water on the cruise and got a confirmation back.
  4. There's a reason they start serving breakfast at 5AM 🙂 At least it will already be light outside, so you might feel as if it was much later. Or just leave the curtains open and you won't be able to sleep at all.
  5. The shorter, included Denali Natural History Tour starts between 5.30 and 7.30AM and takes about 4.5-5 hours. Then about 3 hours to Talkeetna. If you upgrade to the longer Tundra Wilderness Tour, that one starts between 5 and 11AM and takes about 5 and 5.5 hours. I believe that RCL tries to get the earliest starting slots, since both times I've done the Alaska pre-cruise tours, we were picked up just before 5AM at the Denali Park Village hotel for the tour.
  6. I figured I would put it in the carry-on anyway, as I'm not sure we have access to the big suitcase all the time during the land part.Just wasn't sure if port security might raise a fuss about it,
  7. I need an extension cord for my CPAP machine. I already contacted RCL to provide one as well as distilled water for it in the cabin, but we're doing a pre-cruise with 3 nights in hotels, so I still need to bring my own extension cord, which I obviously will not use on board. Just wondering if I just should hand them over when boarding. What's the most efficient way to have them store during the cruise without having to pick up the luggage in the naughty room? Hand them over at the check-in desk or at the security check (although those are usually external contractors, not sure if they know what they are supposed to do with it then).
  8. Thanks, that was interesting! I wish they would provide a more detailed itinerary, especially on arrival times at the en-route destinations in order to be able to plan for individual excursions.
  9. How did you get this info? By mail or in the RCL app? Our cruise tour starts in 27 days, the cruise in 30 days. As of now, I can only see the boarding passes, no luggage tags or anything else.
  10. We‘re doing a 3 nights pre-Cruise tour in Alaska. Do we just attach the ship luggage tags or will we get separate tags for the train and coach part?
  11. We had to ask for our first one as well. I have to say I like the laser-etched 3D models better that the (newer?) photo blocks. The color ones to me look like fridge magnets glued behind a glass brick.
  12. 1B, one night. Last time, I think we were picked up at 5AM. 1B includes the shorter tour at Denali which turns where the paved road ends, but we plan on upgrading to the longer tour which goes up to where the landslide happened, as it‘s only a couple bucks more and hopefully increases the chance to see wildlife.
  13. We're doing a pre-cruise tour with RCL and one of the hotels is the Denali Park Village for our stay the night before the visit to Denali. I've visited the resort twice before, the first time, we stayed in a cabin, which I didn't much care for, they were pretty old and run down, the second time we stayed at the lodge, that one I loved. To be fair, looking at the pictures on the website, it seems that the cabins have been renovated or rebuilt, as they now look much nicer. Where do RCL guests stay nowadays? Is it the lodge only or could it be either? What time do the RCL-organized transfers to Denali usualy start in the m
  14. We are renting a car for the day. How full does the parking lot get on cruise days? Is it better to go first thing in the morning or rather later in the day?
  15. As we live outside the US, they don't mail the crystal. We asked for it onboard and they gave it to us. We're at 205 points now, so will pass 210 during our next cruise. Will we be able to ask for on day 5 or 6 of that cruise or will we have to wait for another cruise?
  16. We're on the June 21 SB sailing.
  17. I chose 12:30, but I guess it doesn't really matter when you do a pre-cruise tour and arrive with their transfer. I booked the river excursion for us and Denali flights for our friends at 6:30 (latest available times) in Talkeetna, so I really hope we get there on time.
  18. I also posted it in this weeks roll call, but since that cruise has started, I‘m not sure if anyone is still reading there.
  19. Our cruise is still over a month away, but I was wondering if anyone has done the 1B Cruisetour with stops in Denali and Talkeetna this season already? What time did you arrive at the hotels in Denali and Talkeetna, respectively? And when did you get to board Radiance on the last day of the pre-cruise tour? Answers from previous years are appreciated as well!
  20. Thanks, would be a shame to miss Skagway. According to the port schedule, Radiance is supposed to dock at Railroad Dock aft on our sailing. Strangely, Radiance was supposed to dock at the Broadway dock on the current cruise, not sure why they still switched the itinerary for Haines.
  21. Radiance of the Seas changed her current itinerary on the NB cruise from Vancouver to visit Haines instead of Skagway because the construction at a pier is still going on. I know there was a rockslide in Skagway 2 years ago, was the pier damaged then? I also found a report from last year saying that the new floating pier was damaged during transportation to Skagway. But nothing current. Is there any information about the new opening date for the pier?
  22. She‘s near Prince Rupert right now and sailing at a decent speed of 20 knots. So it seems that the Azipods are fine now. At the current speed, they arrive in Juneau approximately 45 min. late, but they still have 12 hours to catch up and maybe they crank up the speed a bit later.
