  1. For the WB TA on Wonder of the Seas, RCL currently offers a „Buy 1, get 2nd for 50% off“,for the Deluxe Drink package, with the discount supposedly already calculated in the per person per day price of $66. The final invoice says „Total reflects 25% discount per Person.“

That only works if the regular price for the first person would be $88 per day, and 2nd person $44 (half price), so total for both per day would be $132 or $66 each.

However, until now, the per person per day price for the DDP on this cruise fluctuated between $60 and $64.

To me, RCL pretending $66 is a good deal is borderline fraud. Or am I not seeing the whole picture here?

FCC cannot be used for port fees and taxes, insurance or prepaid gratuity.

I'm aware of that, but we are talking roughly $1400 still due. Out of that, only $300 are taxes and fees. So they still should be able to apply the remaining FCCs, only about $110 per person left, but still.

  3. We had 3 cruises cancelled by RCL because of Covid and rebooked each time using the FCCs we got from the cancelled cruise. After we ran out of options last year, we moved our cruise to this years westbound TA end of October on Wonder. FCCs were applied and we didn't have to pay a deposit, as it seems FCC takes care of that. As this cruise is quite a bit more expensive than the one we planned to do last year, our invoices still showed a fair amount to be paid on the final due date.

Today, our travel agents finances department contacted me and let me know that we still had a couple of hundred dollars in FCC left and we should get in touch with our agent to book another cruise to use them as the credits would expire by end of the year.

I now wrote my agent that she just should apply it to our remaining amount due for the Transatlantic. Haven't heard back from her yet.

Just wondering if anyone knows about rules on how much FCC can be used on any one cruise. I was always under the impression we could just use it all on the upcoming cruise.

Haven’t seen much on the possible shows but there’s been lots of information on dining options different venues and plenty pictures showing the new neighbourhoods especially the new suite deck area.

I just thoght back in the days when Oasis was about to come out, they put dedicated videos on Youtube months in advance showing off the different neigbourhoods, dining venues etc. Haven't found much in that regard for Wonder. What they sent out in Newsletters was either recycled images from older ships or just artist impressions.

Is there perhaps a website that has all the info on Wonder in one place?

  5. Billy Elliot would be great, but unlikely, due to the many kids in the cast. And probably because of the swearing. 🙂

Loved Grease on Harmony, would be fine with Mamma Mia, but really hope to get something new.

With cruises starting soon, shouldn't they start giving out some informations? Have they even shared photos from aboard yet? Different neighbourhoods, specialty dining and new venues?

  6. In a Titanic forum I just read that the OIympic restaurant and its historical wall paneling had been removed from Millenium. From that post I also learned that Celebrity apparently also owns the original decorations for the SS Normandie and SS United States dining rooms, which I didn't know before. Were they used on other Celebrity ships before?

Apparently (according to the Titanic formum), Celebrity plans to reuse the decorations of those historical dining rooms in the Main Dining rooms of Edge-class. And indeed, on the deckplans of Celebrity Edge, there is a Normandie Dining Room, so I expected to see a Olympic or United States dining room on Apex, but on that deck plan, the restaurant is also called Normandie. Now, I'm not sure if they just reused the deckplan and forgot to change the name of the restaurant or if they indeed will have the same restaurant name on each Edge-class ship.

In any case, it would be a shame if those panelings and decorations wouldn't be reused.

    Anyone knows more about this?

  7. I'm currently 1 point short of moving up to Diamond Plus. Next year, we are planning on doing the westbound TA on Wonder of the Seas with the transfer cruise from Rome to Barcelonal just before that. So technically, after the transfer cruise, I would already be Diamon Plus, pointwise, however, my travel agent said it takes a while for the points to be added to the system and I might not be able to enjoy the additional benefits on the TA.

The benefit I care most about would be the 5 free drinks per day, that way I probably wouldn't even need the refreshment package anymore (don't drink alcoholic beverages anyways). In case it is not in the system for the follow-up cruise, do you think talking to the loyalty ambassador onboard would help?

    Anyone had this situation before?

  8. I think it would need a dry dock stop to exchange the elaborate sets for main musical show. Some of the set pieces for Columbus are also pretty big.

Having said that, I still enjoy Grease, Columbus and 1887. Maybe a "Gone wrong" show replacing Columbus might be fun 🙂

Also Big Daddy and the evening water show are great. But Hiro looks amazing too! The Aqua Theatre shows are probably easier to replace.

  9. When RCL cancelled our TA cruise on Odyssey last week, our travel agent forwarded us RCLs information letter. There, they mention a 125% future credit on already bought Cruise Planner items, like drinks and dinner packages. Apparently, there is a link you have to click to opt in. However, the link got lost in copy-pasting it seems, I can only see this:

    Cruise Planner Purchases

If you've already purchased Cruise Planner Items for your sailing, we also have a special offer available to you.

You can opt-in to receive an Onboard Credit in the value of 125% of the total Cruise Planner purchases on your reservation.
Click here by March 18th, 2021 to request your higher value credit, and we'll email you your credit by April 16th, 2021.

So nothing happens when I click "here". I assume this is a generic link to a survey page where you have to leave your booking information and not a personalized link for each booking. Could anyone post the link so I can opt in.

    Thanks!

  10. Received a message this morning, but unfortunately, can't find where it came from, maybe Twitter from RCL? I copied the text and forwarded it to a friend, so at least I have that.

    Here's what it said:

The ship transfer is expected to begin on February 27, 2021 at around 4AM in Papenburg.

The passage of the Jann-Berghaus-Brücke in Leer is planned for February 27, 2021 at around 12PM.

The ship is expected to pass through the Gandersum Ems barrier on February 28, 2021 at around 00:30AM

Hopefully, it will be streamed somewhere, didn't find anything in the TV schedule for NDR TV.

  11. We'll be visiting Kennedy Space Center from Orlando during our stay in June. Being in the area, I'd love to watch a DCL ship sail out from Fishlips. According to the DCL itineraries, on the first day it only says "Aboard 3:45", does that mean they will sail out around 4:45?

However, the port schedule on Crew Center says Disney ships depart at 3:45.
