  1. I used some gift cards on my last cruise. I was asked if I had more than 2k in gift cards. I was then told they had to send the cards to corporate if I had more than 2k to have them verified and applied to my sign and sail account. Luckily for me I only had about $1100 in cards. They never said there was a limit that I could or couldn't use. This was on the Horizon last week.
  2. Check out Grote Knip in Curacao. Smaller beach, few services, but beautiful and also has a ledge about 15 feet above the water you can jump off of into about 10ft of water. Water was crystal clear. You'll take a taxi to get to it.
  3. The BBQ class does a butt, so I just assumed the poster had mixed up the classes. I would think Emeril would include a jambalaya dish in the ones learned in the class. The description says 3 of hi favorite recipes, so I wonder what else is included.
  4. So what kinds of dishes did you learn to make?
  5. I saw where a new class is being offered in the Carnival Kitchen. It is called "Emeril's Favorites." I was wondering if anyone here had done this class and can share what you learned and if it was worthwhile. Thank you
  6. I would not pay to do the class. All of the other classes I've done have been worth it. This one was not.
  7. The cake was already baked. We trimmed it flat to stack, then filled 3 piping bags with different color icing. They taught us how to make a single flower and then we decorated the cake with the one design over the entire thing. I would have liked to learn several different shapes to create different looks but they didn't do that. n They did share about putting some sugar water between each layer to keep the cake moist inside, but that was the extent of the knowledge gained there. You are allowed to eat your cake you made, but I've never found the cake deserts to be very good. They look outstanding, but most taste blah with little flavor to me. I would recommend any of the following: BBQ, Italian/Pasta making, Ice cream (but not for the ice cream. Making the bananas foster was worth the class to me.) Pizza class and the bakeshop/pie town class. For the pie town, they take the pie you make and bake it, then have it in the dining room for you to have as desert that night.
  8. I've done several of the classes via the carnival kitchen on the Mardi Gras and Celebration. The Cake Workshop is the only class where I left feeling like I made a mistake doing it. It was not nearly enough to justify the price IMO. If I knew what it would be like I would not have done it. All of the other classes I have done have been top notch though. I hope you like the class more than I did.
