Is that like  when you love  a Mercedes  telling everyone else they will love one also 😉

Other people may like  an Audi  or Bentley  😎

If I were on a Mercedes board, sure since we’d be there to dis cuss Mercedes. Just like we’re here to discuss luxury cruising.

Agree with you on this one.  I do wonder why a poster that does not like luxury cruising is even monitoring this board.  I realize that anyone can go to whichever board they want to but hopefully no one is here just to make negative comments about luxury cruising.  That would be wrong on many levels.

You just gave one reason why many luxury cruisers do not sail on Europa2 - they prefer not to be with children (a been there - done that situation).  Europa2 does look lovely but most passengers' first language is not English and if you couple that with the children, it is not something that we would not choose to do.

I wasn’t’t addressing why some people don’t want to sail on Europa 2. I was addressing the OP’s question on which lines attract a younger demographic. No one dis likes children on a cruise more than  I but they are sometimes a byproduct of a younger demographic.

IMO, it's incumbent on future bookings.  I've read a half-dozen Wall Street research reports this week and the number of cancelled bookings that have rebooked is high across the three major firms.  From my perspective, really, really high with some figures quoting a two-thirds rebook rate.  The airlines can only drool at such high rebook rates.  So, until passengers demand a refund instead of a FCC, I think fares will be stable, relatively speaking, while in the meantime we may see more gimmicky promotions to try and get passengers to book a new voyage.

With the above said, I have no idea what the rebook rates are for SS.  I do know RCL states SS only represents 2% of their revenue.  But, I have a feeling their profit punches above their revenue weighting.  We'll get SS's take very soon on 2022 cruise fares as SS typically extends their classic fleet schedule early to mid-May.

That seems terribly unfair to the original TA who has put time and effort into the booking.

I have now had three trips fully planned that had to be cancelled.  One for medical reasons (since resolved), one because Windstar couldn't get their dry-docks done on time, and one last month for COVID-19.  I still hope to take all three in the future – but I have already enjoyed them because of the planning.  When I'm planning, nothing ever goes wrong!  The weather is perfect, we don't get sick or injured, the food is as great as the pictures make it look – everything.  So I don't feel I wasted any time planning those three trips, and when we reschedule them I will only have to update my plans instead of starting over.  Win-Win.

    Great attitude.

Looking at QE2 QG menus from the 2000s, they are not so different from now. Many of the same dishes survive. Which for some may be a minus rather than a plus.😀

As to food quality, it is hard to say. The quality of ingredients seems much the same, while the quality of actual dishes depends on the chef. My companion had tough roast lamb for lunch for the first time ever in September, which I don't see as a sign of falling standards, merely a chef who is incompetent at cooking lamb.

QE2 used to save Beluga caviar in QG. That about says it all.
