We plan to take a cab from our Rome hotel to the cruise port on Thursday but I'll need a wheelchair once I leave the cab. Do you possibly know if Princess has wheelchairs and people to push them standing by where the taxis drop people off? I'm trying to minimize walking. (I will not be able

You can tell ToH that I like his shirt - especially as it appears to have a pocket for my stupid glasses. (Sometimes I think it might be easier if I had to wear the glasses all the time.) I know that a lot of folks don't care for the Aloha shirts but I wore them to work every day the last 4 or 5 years I worked. Of course I also wore Birkenstock sandals as well. Working in IT has it's perks.😎  Give him a big High Five for the shirt. 😁

If your cruise stops in Honolulu, the Macys store in the Ala Moana shopping center has a fabulous selection of men’s shirts with many aloha shirts available. This store has shirts tha none of the other Macys carry. Every time we visit Honolulu we visit the Macys store and buy 2-3 more shirts.

We like to stay in an area loosely defined by The Pantheon and Piazza Navona.  Two hotels meeting your requirements during your stay are Hotel Smeraldo and Hotel Ponte Sisto.  Although both are listed on various hotel booking sites, I suggest you check their own websites for best pricing.

Rather than leave transfers up to your hotel, I suggest you book them yourself.  There are other good ones, but we always use RomeCabs.  Their pricing is usually better than what your hotel will offer and having direct contact with your provider in the event of a flight delay is a plus.

This past September our flight from EWR to FCO was delayed by three hours.  I notified RomeCabs and they adjusted their schedule to accommodate our late arrival.  I don't know how it would have worked out if I were working through a middleman, the hotel, for our airport transfer.

Great advice, Lew! Thank you for telling me about Hotel Smeraldo. That place looks very promising.

  4. I’m looking for a hotel in a central location with an on-site restaurant and a concierge who can book tours and airport & cruise port transfers. A buffet breakfast would be a plus. Am hoping to find something for $200/night based on a 4-night stay. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Just go the restaurant on embarkation - there will be someone there - and book your reservation.

The problem with that is that my cruise (to Sydney) begins in Vancouver but I don’t embark until 4 days later in L.A. (San Pedro), I am concerned that some of the choice days (e.g. formal nights) will be 100% booked.

  6. Sorry if this sounds clueless, but I haven’t been able to find elsewhere.

What kind of Covid test does Princess require for their cruises? PCR or ?

    How many days before departure?

    Thanks in advance.
