  1. -------------------------------

we will be arriving at Petropaviovsk, Russia May 14th, 2017. If other than cruise ship, can you please share your source information? Thank you so much,

I am on the same cruise and started researching private tour companies in Petropavlovsk 12-18 months out. I finally settled on KAMCHATINTOUR http://www.kamchatintour.ru

We have selected our itinerary and they have answered all of our questions promptly (in English). We now have a tour ticket for the four of us, which is also called a blanket visa or booking confirmation. This should allow us to disembark the ship without delay or any bureaucratic delays with the customs officials.

  2. I just checked the Guest Booklet, & it states that passengers with access needs should notify Celebrity in writing.

    Email special_needs@celebrity.com

Also, they provide a toll free number 866-592-7225 for the Access Dept.

I hope they will allow you to board ASAP. I know that other cruise lines do, as I was told by some w/c users.

    Hope this is useful info.:)

Thanks for the good suggestion. I have just fired off an email to the address you gave me.

  3. Which cruise? What embarkation port?

Are you wanting to go earlier?

Wheelchair users will be given a special check in line (again, this is true in most embarkation ports but without knowing where you will be, it's hard to be 100% certain it will be so for you.)

Yes, I want to board before 1 PM in order to not rush with lunch.

It's a transpacific cruise from Yokohama to Vancouver, B.C. via the Bering Sea.

  4. We are taking our first Celebrity cruise in about 5 weeks. The stated embarkation time is 1PM-6PM. Is this hard and fast or only advisory like Princess?

Being in a wheelchair, will I have any boarding priority?

    TIA,

    Vic

  5. got a reference? Does it require DV tags? How does one claim the DV status?

A veteran must be permanently and totally disabled (100% according to the VA) and it must be a service-connected disability.

You apply through your FL county tax collector's office (like all other auto registration issues). And show proof of the P&T disability.

  6. We usually cruise with Princess, but are taking our first Celebrity cruise (Celebrity Millennium) soon and I am completely completely clueless about dining options. We are in a standard balcony room (verandah).

Beside room service, the MDR and the buffet (of course), what other options (including specialty restaurants) are available for the hoi poloi like us?

  7. Here is the text of my Tripadvisor review of this hotel:

We have stayed here twice with the last time being October 23rd. The reservation requested a "King Mobil Accessible Roll In Shwr Nosmk - Non Smoking room and was made 3+ months in advance. Upon check in, we were assured that the room had a roll in shower. It did NOT and I could not use the non-roll in shower. At that point, after driving 200 miles, I didn't want to repack and maybe move to another room. When I mentioned this to the front desk clerk the next morning and showed her my copy of the confirmation which said " King Mobil Accessible Roll In Shwr Nosmk - Non Smoking Special Requests: Request wheelchair accessible room", she acknowledged it but did nothing further like call a manager over. We never received an apology after departing either. I mention this incident because it happened the time before in March (3/31/15) (i.e. TWICE).

The room was very nice with comfy beds and the breakfast was excellent. But, the failure to better take care of disabled guests (TWICE) is a deal breaker for the future.
