  1. We were on the Pearl in Dec- and purchased Thermal Spa Passes- as it was wonderful on the Getaway. Very disappointed with the Pearl. First the Saunas are in the single sex locker rooms, as is a jet tub & cold tub.  Will say the view from the sauna is lovely but it's single sex.  Also if you have any sort of mobility issues- getting into the tubs in the locker room as well as the hot tub in the main area can be difficult.  The thermal pool can't compare to the ones on the bigger ships.  Not all of the jets worked on our cruise.  We ended up get a partial refund for my hubby as he was only able to use the sauna & thermal loungers.  ours was a 10 day cruise & think it was around 250.  The rate is depends on ship & length of stay- the smaller ships do have a the cheapest rate.  It doesn't seem like they raise the price once on board & if they haven't sold out they usually have day passes for $79.

  2. Sorry this hasn't been a very active thread- for me with only the free wifi package been saving my minutes-things don't post quickly.  We're currently in PC today, had to do a mandatory immigration inspection, which did have the usual NCL hiccups- but all in all its been a great cruise-we made it to Bermuda & GSC, as well as Nassau. We're enjoying our 1st Haven experience. I believe I heard we're 4288 98% capacity but all cabins sold. Many families with kids. We're  down 2 of the 4 aft elevators that go to 16. I really will never understand why they designed the breakaway class with just 2 banks of elevators. Staff has been pleasant throughout the ship. NCL's biggest challenge is communication- they need to that better among their staff as well as their passengers. And passengers need to be nice to each other & staff. Will post more when we get home in a few days.

Your muster station and your lifeboat location are probably not the same thing.

Two weeks ago on Breakaway, our muster station was in the Manhattan dining room.

You report to your Muster station (location noted on your room card & behind your cabin door)  when the emergency alarms are rung- & will be escorted to your lifeboat station when & if required.  On smaller ships your muster station may be the same as the lifeboat station- we were grateful ours was when we sailed the GOS in 2013 and we had a fire on the aft of the boat - we never had to abandon ship but it was nice to see the lifeboat right in front of me.

  5. As I have said before- we're first timers- leaving this Sunday on the Getaway- we sent an email to the Pre Concierge as we wanted to switch the time of our reservation for one of the shows) booked the earlier show but was afraid we may have to rush through dinner- so wanted to move it to the later slot, we also couldn't find a reservation at Cagney's for 2, we gave them 2 dates & preferred times.

It was on the weekend but within 48 hrs we had an email reply- they made the switch for the show & booked our dinner reservation, explained that we wouldn't see it on the app- our on ship concierge would have the info.

A few days later we finally decided on an excursion for PC- but couldn't find it any longer- sent a note- responded overnight0 said it was fully booked but put us on the waitlist & our on site concierge would follow up.

We limited our requests to these types of items- but do have a brief butler letter in development, with mostly info related to who we are- & not a lot of needs. We really want to experience the Haven experience for what it is-not change or miss out on something because we over researched the experience (I'm sure I've over research- lol I have read every thread more than one- so excited)   Can't wait to report back on what a great time we had.

Thanks to all that have shared especially @Sthrngary

    Happy cruising

We leave the 25th, the last old in person muster sailing for the escape, I am hoping (knowing its not likely) that they do a hybrid type muster.  You can go to your muster station anytime before sailing, and then watch the video presented by the crew (since we didn't have that option during check in), they check us off the list and we go on our merry way.  Sounds reasonable to me!

We leave on the 26th- I'm thinking there's still time for them to send out the email links- they did it so frequently last year- but agree hope it's some hybrid.

Watching the video has been a mandatory part of check-in since the restart so it's nothing new.

actually we're cruising this coming weekend & have not been sent links to watch the videos, now in Oct & Dec 22- we did. I believe the in person drill started in Feb and no video viewing during check in.

Can you recall how much the daily pass for the thermal spa cost?

    thanks,

    deb 🙂

On both the Getaway & Pearl I saw them for sail on Port days for $79, would pay that for Getaway but not Pearl.  The Spas on the smaller ships don't have all of the rooms- and the pool is older & we found the jets don't work. Also the hot tub & ice tub are a challenge to get into if you have any kind of mobility issues (even if you don't) The sauna's are in the locker rooms- and while they have great views- you can't sit with your hubby. Love the Getaway's thermal spa & rooms - looking forward to our cruise next week.

@nmuller328 I am so excited for you.  My first Haven Suite was on the Getaway.  I really loved that ship.

Thank you @Srhrngary- I have read your thread here as well as every other Haven thread. I have a rough draft of our letter for our butler. We are so excited and can't wait for our Haven experience.

    Appreciate your personalized advise.

    Hi there!

We are going on the Getaway soon and I have a quick question.

Do they provide pool towels and beach towels when you go on their island?

Are they in the room or do you ask for them?

    Thank you in advance.

    Genie

You pick up towels pool side - when going off the ship- sometimes they have them near the exit other times you pick them up at the pool side. You normally have to give them your room number when you take them & return. (If you're in the Haven-I think they may have them in your room)

Off-topic, GA is turning around tomorrow for another shorter Bermuda/Florida & Bahamas run - and not looking pretty for the Dockyard segment, nasty storm sweeping across by evening into Saturday & hitting the islands.

Just looked at the lastest from the Bermuda Cruise Schedule (http://www.marineandports.bm/)  updated earlier today  Both the Gem & Ventura have been canceled for the weekend 11 & 12. The Getaway wasn't scheduled for Bermuda this upcoming cruise or the next one (just the Bahamas & PC). The Mar 26 10 day cruise (which I am booked on) is the next Getaway scheduled for Bermuda- fingers crossed but we have had low expectations even when we booked it in Jan. - We went with the 10 day cruise vs the 8 day cruises as it was a tad cheaper & we landed a Haven Spa at a real cool price. Figured if we don't get to land anywhere- we have 10 days to enjoy the Haven & Spa.

We appreciate your posts as well as Pete's - they are full of info & humor.

I'm just hoping we picked a good weather week time will tell

  12. question regarding the Sky- anyone know why they originally cancelled all of the cruises for 2023- not familiar with this ship so did the usual google & found an CruiseHive article from a year ago- where all cruises from May 2023-Dec 2023 were canceled. Haven't found a follow up article to say why or when did they re instate cruises.  Another question- does the Sky have a thermal spa. And yes I noticed we had the coupon Saturday night- hadn't planned on Alaska- as we've been there (our 1st cruise with HAL back in 2006, but if the price is right- why not.
