  1. No, this is not a factor on the Jewel (no card controlled electric). But, your digital clock will probably not work well on the ship, as the current changes/varies (not sure how it effects digitalis, but analog clocks don't keep accurate time). You are much better off with a small battery powered travel clock.

Clock will run fast gain about 15 minutes aday. As a electrician I was curious. Turns out in America we Work off 60htz of power (cycles per second) ships run off a higher. Htz

  2. More and more cruiselines are creating private cruise centers hoping to keep passangers safely in and locals out. I know Royal has Labadee in Haiti and Carnival has a few including Grand Turk. Does NCL have any cruise centers in the works ?

yes on the other side of Belize still under construction

  3. Thanks for answering.

Do you dress like a pirate ALL DAY or just for a party that night?

  4. I once booked a cruise expecting to go to Cozumel, Ocho rios, Grand Cayman and NCL private Island.. Weather issues happened We ended up Going to Cozumel Ocho Rios, and Nassau... Lost a Port gained a sea day.. They scrambled to book nassau at the last minute to give up another port day.. No fault of NCL.. They didn't control the weather Just Like Carnival had ordered from the Coast Guard to save the boat at sea.. Not Carnivals fault OP shouldn't get anything..

  5. My wife and I took these on the Legend. It was a very neat experience. The photographer took us all over the ship to take pictures in very nice settings. The pictures came out very well. I will say though they were very expensive. I think the smallest package was right around $500 with packages going up to about $2k.

Holy crap.. I hope the package came with a original Mona Lisa

  6. don't think so, imo it requires a ship big enough to have many alternative dining options vs MDR.

we enjoy the anytime dining option on both RCCL & CCL, wish DCL would offer it. That said, on RCCL we made reservations on the IOS and were glad we did after seeing the stand-by line for those that didn't most nights. Nice to have a 7 - 7:30 pm option to eat though.:)

Ncl sky and sun are pretty small ships. Probably a lot smaller than 80% of carnival ships.

  7. Did ncl fans suspected they would go freestyle a number of years ago ? How about rccl fans who got suprised a few days ago that new builds were going dynamitic dinning. Do I think ccl will change any time soon no. But one day they may well change.. Remeber the old saying all good things must come to a end..

  8. John Heald posted about this on the other website, just the other day. Tradition dining is NOT going away.

This is his comment..."Judging by these posts all received today it is obvious people are talking about this so let me simply say this. While Your Time Dining remains popular and is getting more so it is part of a choice that we offer our guests and there are no plans to change from the choices we currently offer of early, late or your time dinning. "

Never said it was going away. Anytime soon.. But one day it very well may.. I'm sure john doesn't speak for what may happen 5 10 15 years from now..

  9. Mom works at a School lunch room years ago she could bring left over home.. Now by law they have to catalog and throw away.. Cant take home anything can't donate cant send home with a hungry kid.. Have to log and throw in the dumpster..

Ive remodeled buffets (big name chains) they pile it in a trash can let it set out in the back all night.. And 1st shift throws away before the dumpster run .. Why you ask.. (I did ask) They don't want people digging threw there dumpster and end up suing for getting hurt or food poision..

  10. Here is the quote from John Heald's FB page today regarding discontinuing the 2 mdr seatings:

    Name: Don_______

Message: been reading stuff on cruise critic message boards that suggest that carnival is going to do away with assigned traditional dinning very soon. I hope this is not true because IMHO it would be a disaster.

    Name: Bianca__________

Message: John, I am really worries because we have been seeing people writing saying that Carnival workers have told them that Carnival is stopping all assigned dinner reservqations. We love meeting new people at dinner and it is one of the reasons we keep on cruising. Can you set my mind at ease please

    Name: Susan_______

Message. --------- - -----------cruise lines have done away with the traditional dining room, replacing it with 5 completely different restaurants. I now read that Carnival is heading down this route and no more early and late sitting. Please please please tell me that this is not going to happen.

John's Response --- Judging by these posts all received today it is obvious people are talking about this so let me simply say this. While Your Time Dining remains popular and is getting more so it is part of a choice that we offer our guests and there are no plans to change from the choices we currently offer of early, late or your time dinning.

    cheers

So you are one of the ones who Went to John.. Did you read my opening post? I said I had no source not a rumor just said In the future could be 20 years from now 1 day Carnival will do away with Standard seating .. And One day they will may not today may not be in 2015 but one day they will

  11. Re-reading my question I see it can be taken multiple ways.

I know NCL's menus rotate daily. So I guess my question is; even though there are multiple locations, on say, Day 1, they both have the same menu (dining room A and dining room B) then on Day 2 it is a different menu, but the only difference in dining room A or B is decor.

So regardless of if you go mid or aft, it's the same menu as the other MDR.

The special of the night menu are normally the same but the fixed every day menu is different in the 2 mdr one example you can get a ribeye everyday in one mdr the other mdr has a NY strip.. thats just 1 example
