  1. I highly recommend AJ Towncar Services while in Seattle. AJ is so nice, I know, because we have used him a few times for transportation needs while in Seattle. His number is (206) 697-5577. He is happy to give you a quote over the phone but I know he has a towncar that seats 4 comfortably that I think is $55 from the airport to Pier 91 or $45 to Pier 66 downtown...also hotels downtown. He has a SUV that is $65 from airport to Pier 91. I also think he has a 10 passenger van that is $12 per person (minimum 7 people). We have had him pick us up from Pioneer Square and also downtown Seattle and was ALWAYS on time, friendly, and great competitive prices. Here is his website that I just looked up. http://www.seatactowncar.com You will be happy to give him your business :) Hope this helps you and others looking for transportation reviews

  2. For transportation in Seattle from airport or piers

we have successfully used AJ TOWNCAR SERVICE at (206) 697-5577 (ask for AJ). He is always prompt and has a nice black towncar that seats 4 comfortably for about $45 from airport to Pier 91 or $20 plus tip from downtown hotels to Pier 91(or van for larger group-more money-Seats 10 I believe) . Really like him. You can reserve, with no money down. Give him a try and you will be happy you did ;) Tell him Charlene says helloooooo

  4. It is my understanding when you purchase a FCD on-board it is automatically put into your Mariner's account. I would think that when you book your next cruise on-line it would recognize that you have that in your account and prompt you asking if you want to apply certificate. If not, I would STILL book on-line (if you wanted to)and then maybe call a HAP rep. after that and have them add it to your booking. Just a suggestion. We purchased our FCD on this past cruise and it was placed into our acct but then we booked thru AAA and I reminded him that we had the certificate to use for our next Alaska cruise. Good Luck and happy sailing:D

  6. Glad you had a good time! You might consider taking Holland America's 14-day Great Land Explorer cruise. We went last September and enjoyed it so much that we are scheduled again for next May 2016. Ports include roundtrip from Seattle, Ketchikan, Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Anchorage, Homer, Kodiak, Hubbard Glacier, Sitka, Victoria. It is an amazing cruise with nothing but great memories. :)

  7. Byron Glacier was suggested because the traveler just wanted to say he'd been on a glacier. With limited time there was no point in making a half day trip to Matanuska when he would be driving thru Portage Valley 2 days later.

    Here's a photoblog from Byron.

LOVED the pictures MapleLeaves...I am going to schedule the four of us going to Byron Glacier next May! We will rent a car from the cruise port. Looks so beautiful and to be able to actually walk onto the glacier is exciting. It is pretty close to Portage Glacier as well, correct? We went on that excursion last year and enjoyed it as well as Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center...a must see. Thanks everyone for sharing. Any more pictures of Byron Glacier anyone?

  8. Thank you for your comments...keep them coming!

After reading tons of reviews on CruiseCritic and my personal favorite TripAdvisor, we decided to make a reservation with Glacier Wind Charters. g-wind.com

May 2016 was already starting to fill up. Glad we have that covered. On to other excursions now. Will be making plans in Ketchikan for the Bering Sea Crab excursion too. Mendenhall Glacier for Juneau. I LOVE planning these excursions.

Please feel welcome to add more "must do" excursions for: Ketchikan, Juneau, Icy Strait, Anchorage, Homer (the hardest one for me so far), Kodiak, Sitka (will for sure go to Fortress of the Bears) and Victoria

  9. We are going back to Alaska next May/June 2016 and have read alot of reviews on Trip Advisor for whale watching in Icy Strait. Leaning towards Glacier Winds...but not sure why...lol ALL of the companies seem great. There will be four adults in our group. Most of the boats are smaller and dont want to go with the large ship crowd. My question to all of you good people is who would YOU recommend and why? Thanks so much in advance

  10. We have used AJ Towncar Services four times and he is VERY good and prompt. Call him for a free quote and also reserve with no money down if the price is to your liking. Tell him Charlene says HELLO!!! I think it is $50 from airport to Pier 91 and $20 from downtown Seattle to Pier 91.... plus tip :-) (206)697-5577 Give him a call :D

  11. So exciting seeing all the people view our video and seems lots of you liked it! I am still trying to figure out WHY the video did not count all the views (411) seen by people yesterday and today on Cruise Critic. When I posted it there were existing 837 views and then 411 MORE have now seen it (by the count on this thread) and it only says 914 total views. Does anyone understand that part of YouTube? Why doesn't it count all the real views??

Anyway, Thanks again for watching our video :D

  12. We too wish they would just add the price of gratuities into the cruise fare. That way it would be paid for BEFORE the cruise and it would also make it so everyone pays for them...verses opting out, as some do, because they supposedly pay all their tips in person. It would be better for all concerned to be paid upfront before the cruise. If there ends up being an issue that needs special attention...then so be it.

  13. We have used AJ Towncar Service and absolutely LOVE HIM and his great cars and service. Phone number is (206) 697-5577 He has a towncar and/vans. Able to pick up 2 people to 8? Give him a call and he can give you a quote or make your reservation with him with no money down. AJ has ALWAYS been on time and I love getting him more customers. You can arrange to be picked up at the airport and taken to Pier, or to hotel, and as we use him from hotel to Pier. If you feel like it...tell him Charlene says HI !

  14. Wanted to share with everyone our first time creating a YouTube video and it happened to be on our last cruise with Holland America to the Panama Canal in March! We also visited Half Moon Cay and Costa Rica and the Tortuguero Canals. Hope you enjoy the video and hope this post works correctly :-) It is 7 minutes of our 10 day cruise :)

  15. RockfordCruiser....looking at your great pictures and was wondering what company you were using to Whale watch and were you with a few people or alot of people? I like the boat we are looking at FROM your boat. Is it similar and only 8 or so people on board? What company?
