We have sailed the Getaway twice and loved it each time.

Getting WAY off topic, was told by NCL it not the foreign countries, it's because it leaves from New York, but ends in Miami.
Yes, it is not a closed loop cruise so it requires a passport.

Doesn't it have to be a closed loop cruise so sail without a passport? I am surprised it would give BC as an option.
My wife lost her passport in a move a couple of years ago right before a cruise and was able to get a new one same day in Seattle.

If you read above I stated I zsked for the restrictions.
The form clearly spells out the restrictions, the sales person probably didn't outright lie but didn't make things as clear as the Ts and Cs do either. Almost all of the time we use two when we book and if not just don't buy two on the next cruise.

Yeap, originally bought it because I got tired of calling hotel IT numbers to get my Apple TV whitelisted. (They finally allowed it to connect to captive networks.) The internet still sucks on board. I can’t use enough internet bits to get my moneys worth either way. 🙂
You could have just cloned the MAC address 😉

Go to the Cellar when you board and they should have signup sheets. The Sommelier, Suprakash, is fantastic.

@carohs clearly outlined why in post #7. There are people who don’t get 0% credit offers. Or they have zero credit cards…which they do exist.
Anyone who can't get a 0% credit card offer won't qualify for the NCL 0% offer either.
-
There are dozens of 20 month+ 0% credit card offers out there, why not just get one of those?
-
You can't even get it in the Haven, just LeBistro. Pommrey is available and IMO at least as good but it is a Rose'. It really sucks that they don't at least offer a Pommrey Brut.

Hi! We went on a cruise in Jan of 2023, and the premium plus scotch and bourbons offered could not be found. We have another cruise for 2025, and would like to know if anyone has been on a recent cruise on the Getaway and been able to find the premium plus offerings at whiskey bar. Seems a silly question to ask so early, but we are talking about what upgrades/packages we might add on.
thanks
We were just on the Getaway, we had to go to specific bars for what we wanted although the Haven bar had everything including Enigma and Johnny Walker Blue.

I was on the Sun last year and streamed a Mariner playoff game and a Seahawk game (hooked my laptop to one of the Sports Bar TVs). It was a challenge but I managed to pull it off. Both were sea days int he middle of the afternoon (so just about the worst time). I did have to find lower datarate streams and it did freeze a couple of times but it was mostly pretty good.

We just got back with 5 stops in Spain, no taxes charged with drink plan.

Thanks. I'm trying to decide if I want the Plus drink package. We don't need the extra internet or meals since we'll be in the Haven. I'm also trying to decide how many bottles to bring. Normally, for a seven day cruise I would bring six. I'm thinking with the plus package four at most. (Plus one for the room the night before the cruise.) I can check three bags each for my wife and I. I'm thinking of one bag for myself, one for my wife, and a small carry-on for the wine.
We are in the Haven on this cruise as well, it does not give you any extra internet but yeah I was dubious about the meals (although 10 days with the same menu, might be nice to mix it up a bit). We are flying to London and stopping over for a couple of days then flying to Lisbon, the London flight we get 70 pounds but the Lisbon flight we only get 50 so we ended up checking 3 bags to stay under the limit.

Question: do you also get the plus drink package?
Sometimes. On the cruise we are leaving for today we did through Free At Sea Plus. I needed unlimited internet for work anyway, my wife is a big fancy coffee drinkers, and we have 10 ports (although we didn't use all of the excursion credits) and it is our anniversary cruise so it seemed worth it. We are only bringing 6 bottles of wine which might be 5 by the time we board. If we don't get get the plus drink package we will bring a bottle for every day we are on the ship (which once included a 9 day Baltic cruise 🙂 ).

We always brought our own wines when we drove to the ports.
We have to fly on our next two cruises. I'm uncertain if I want to fly with wine in checked bags.
I am literally packing for a cruise out of Lisbon now, we use these wine angel bags and have never had an issue).

Not totally out of line with restaurant prices ashore.
If these prices bother you then bring your own wine.
If you like good wine bringing your own is the best thing you can do, especially when most people will have no corkage.

Not much difference between $25 a glass and $29 a glass.
I was just pointing out that it also qualifies in the decent category 🙂. We are getting Premium Plus for our cruise next week as well. If you do upgrade and your ship has a Cellars, go there and talk to the Sommelier, they often have some other good options for you to try.

Looks like you'll pay $29 per glass for any of hte decent wines.
Seems like I'll have to buy the plus package.
The Silverado is only $25 and decent is a good way to describe it. We always bring some of our own wine.

I require a VPN for security on my corporate network, but I only email and low level intranet. No streaming. Do I still need Premium wifi?
anyone have info on purchasing an EU sim card for a Samsung? Is it inexpensive for when you are within range versus a $300 UPGRADE? Must be the most profitable thing they sell on the ship.
Thanks
In my experience you need streaming for a VPN and a sim card would be cheaper but it won't work away from shore and if you have a tier 1 US carrier they either include EU or have inexpensive travel plans.

Is Starlink active on Breakaway? If you have individual starlink, will it work onboard?
Thanks
They tested it on the Breakaway (I assume it is still running), from what I read it worked very well but this was back in April. The Getaway had it installed then but it is still yet to be turned on (which is pretty disappointing since I am sailing on her in 9 days). I very much doubt NCL would give up the revenue and let you use your own account.
-
I wouldn't hold my breath, even the Getaway has yet to have it turned on (apparently it has been installed) and it was the next ship to get it after the Breakaway.

Thanks for the responses, the Hotel is north of the river (Canopy Hilton). Also, thanks for the heads up about the Piccadilly line, we had been thinking about switching to Kensington.

HEX and then cab? HEX and then tube? Cab? Tube? Book a car ahead of time? It will be a Saturday (this Saturday).

The best feature of the Coast Hotel is that is shares a parking lot with Sharps Roaster 🙂 .
