So their guidance is to stick with the 14 days.

I think people need to get a grip and stop listening to media hype, yes it's concerning but most people only have very mild symptoms.
if I listened to all I hear about travel, I wouldn't leave home.
well at least that one count for the calm column. I’m still in the panic corner. I don’t care if the symptoms are just mild, I don’t want exposure to the virus at all.- 2

I’m wondering when MSC and other cruise lines will restrict passengers from other regions that are experiencing outbreaks.

I would recommend the “ all in package” for 170.00 which provides internet, drink package, and OBC of 100.00. If it is available at time of booking.....otherwise go ala carte.

Do you think it’s extreme to actually throw away all sheets, mattresses, drapes, towels?? I would think a good bleach washing would take care of the towels and sheets. I’m suspicious.
Not at all. I think everything should be burned. The ship should go into dry dock for MAJOR refurbishment. I think tile floors can be left.

I read somewhere that the estimated survival time for the virus on a hard surface is 9 hours but that’s based on the behavior of known coronavirus strains.

Just read where the city of Costa Mesa do not want the U.S. evacuees to relocate to a facility in their town.

Glad for the notice to check for bar tab mishaps.

Unless you are elderly or suffering from certain pre-existing medical conditions I don't think you have much to worry about.
By worry, do you mean for your health, or for the integrity of your cruise/itinerary?
I disagree, there are other implications but yes health is the major one. There is the economic impact of being quarantined for a lengthy period. A member of my party is a physical therapist at a hospital. If she is caught up in this situation or close contact with someone who has, I’m pretty sure she would lose her job or be years before she is allowed to treat patients.

. I suspect some people will be hesitant to be the first to sail after the deep cleaning, but I also suspect there will be some AMAZING prices coming out for those who are willing to take a chance.
Thanks for the additional information but my anxiety level supersedes any price cut for the cruise.i chose MSC due to “value” and I’m already rethinking that decision.

ship quarantine for crew? how? who is gonna operate the ship? who i gonna clean after? I wonder how many will dare to cruise in April on this ship?
I also wonder who the brave folks are that are willing to be the next set of passengers. It is not me.

I understand how some folks would be offended and consider the attendant’s behavior brazen. Obviously he thought he had established a rapport with you to approach and didn’t think you would jeopardize his job.
If you are offended by his behavior I suggest that you stay with the DSC and not leave an additional gratuity.

Yes, to bringing water onboard if you go through the special needs department. I did have to submit a form.

So two flights have taken US Passengers off the Diamond Princess to Ca and Tx for quarantine and 14 of those who did not have, now have the virus and were segregated on the planes. Think the real concern is the HAL ship that could not find a port to disembark and finally did and one American who left and came back now has the virus. Is the cat out of the bag?
This is very concerning. Is the current incubation protocols incorrect?

Glad you enjoyed MSC and the Seaside. My first trip coming up shortly. Did you use your free thermal day pass or the free tasting dinner.

My points will expire while I'm onboard a ship but before the completion of the cruise within the required time period. I think the contract requires the cruise to be completed. I guess I will be out of luck.

If CDC test is positive then the crew will have to go into quarantine mode and this sailing plus future sailing(s) on Anthem will be in play for cancellations. The bigger PR issue will be the pax they let leave yesterday that have now fanned out everywhere.
yep, larger issue.- 1

"Honey Stung Chicken" on Royal use to carry the same hype as a Guys Burger. i guess it signifies that you are finally on a ship on vacation and that is a main go to when boarding except for a long time the HSC was only offered in the Windjammer on boarding day. People on Carnival tend to flock to Lido buffet upon boarding leaving Guys with very short wait time. I enjoy Guys burgers. I have to chuckle when i hear they are greasy. Burgers are suppose to be greasy. The best burger to me is made with 73/27 ground beef. I actually think Guys Burgers are 80/20 ground chuck though. They are certainly better in MY opinion than Johnny Rockets and it is a nice touch that they are included. I like the toppings like the carmelized onions etc.
The thing i cant stand on Carnival that carries even more hype than a Guys burger is the warm melting chocolate cake. Gross!
I was right with you until you dissed the Carnival Melting Cake. I forfeited years of my life to eat it twice last week.

NCL just posted that all sailings on the Spirit (which is currently in China/Singapore/Hong Kong) have been cancelled thru December 2020. Cancelling 10 months worth of cruises (and refunding all those passengers) plus giving them all a credit for a future booking is likely costing them millions of dollars. Which they would not do at a whim. So leads me to believe that the cruise lines fear this might be a long ongoing issue.
Probably has a lot to do with insurance underwriting. A family member works in the industry underwriting cruise companies and I will ask.

Wow. Thanks. I like Pot Roast but hate Sloppy Joes.

I hope you are right, we fly to Singapore on Monday for an Asia sailing on Thursday!
I have concerns about allowed the ship initially being allowed to dock in Singapore for embarkation on Thursday and then to dock in our destinations and/or quarantined on the ship.
You are braver than me! Best of luck to you. What's the name of your ship?

Given that we have shortened the sailing, you’ll receive a 1-day refund in the form of an onboard credit for the day missed, plus a pro-rated credit, if you pre-purchased any packages such as, beverage, internet, or dining. Both credits will be added to your Onboard Account and once you’re onboard, you can use these credits anywhere onboard.
Okay, so they have to find and pay for lodging for a night? Does cruise insurance cover this? How about the folks that don't have insurance? No----I haven't read every line in a cruise contract.

Can you imagine the impact if a case is reported at Ft. Lauderdale or Miami ports? I'm also wondering if the Chinese released passengers are traveling in a private plane.

Considering the demographics of Vancouver and the tendency to travel to Chin from Vancouver , I’m surprised that there are not more cases. I had wagered that it would be epicenter for the virus in North America.
