The mattresses are the WORST. Plus the beds appear to be lower to the floor. You feel like you are in a youth hostel. We did have an egg crate topper placed on our bed but they were all out for our companions.
As much as like cruising out of a home port, Grandeur beds are the reasons I don't do it.

I'm one of those people that believe Oasis doesn't move. I tried saying "git it up horsey" and it still didn't work.
I think it has the least amount of motion of any ship I've ever sailed. I recommend it to my sister that gets motion sick standing still.

I can do "Dancing Queen". I'm actually looking forward to it. Better than "Big Band".

Not sure how many kids but I hope you like Abba!

Can't access the link so please explain. I will be on board but purchased the "for any reason" insurance.

I'm going to say CHILD SUPPORT.

Paid 2600.00 for JS over 4th of July.

Grandeur had the best dining room staff--at one table that we've had in over 25 cruises (multiple lines). After so many cruises we usually skip the dining room and just eat in the Windjammer. but sister who accompanied us likes the dining room. Robert and Lawrence (Table 592-My Time Dining) were absolutely GREAT. Stateroom attendant was also in the good-great category.
Good trip with a few problems. I thought the beds bad--mattress and too low. I'm still trying to recover.

Gosling Rum. Not sure if it is available in the states. Bought the first bottle in Bermuda about 15 years ago. Purchased new bottle onboard Grandeur.

All my cruise pictures feature the same dress.....multiple cruises. I find it hilarious. I did the same for years to the office Xmas party.

Ship - Grandeur
Deck - 8
Stateroom # - 8560
Stateroom Category –JS
Starboard or Port Side - Port
Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Quiet from Centrum noise. However, rolling carts and chair dragging from the Solarium above can be heard. Not highly disturbing. No sounds from adjoining cabins. Bed is very low.
Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No
Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. Good balcony view with no obstructions
Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal. Accommodated one lounge chair (special request), two patio chairs and table.
Was wind a problem? - No
If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Aft and no problems with soot
Any specific problems with this cabin? - You can hear carts rolling and chair dragging from the Solarium above. Bed is very low.
Any other comments? -

The roof was opened on one sea day last week. Also the posted age was 16 and older.
We religiously pointed out violators to security which put and end to the underage violators. This was done on the first full day so everyone got the message that the pool policy would be enforced.

Solo cabins. I think RCCL will have to adore in the future.
-
Not this particular problem....just the fire and noro a couple times and some rough seas that damaged the jogging track two separate times. But, l love that ship.:D
Gwen :)
My sister who accompanied us also loves Grandeur. She's a Carnival fan but stated she would sail Grandeur in the future. This was also her second trip on Grandeur.
-
Or horrible information!:rolleyes: Would you care to elaborate????...."RCCL didn't handle this event well"....
Guest Services never contacted daughter and offered nothing despite the Head Housekeeper telling her that GS would make contact. Daughter never mentioned the leak until I asked to see the small shower. I thought she was sleeping on our sofa just for view. Again, military and just does not complain. Late on the final day after I complained to GS she received 25% of the amount she paid for her NEXT cruise.
She starts a medical training program next month so no opportunities for cruises in the near future.

Break happened on Day 5 of the cruise. I can't say if it was FIXED or what...there was practically no communications from RCCL to us on the issue and I can't say if other cabins were affected, except the ones mentioned. The occupants on the floor below us didn't call up until Day 7 so apparently it was a traveling leak....my attempt at a joke.
Daughter is military and will make due in any environment but it wasn't optimum for a vacation. I think she was trying to slush through the wet flooring but the wet bedding was hard to overlook.
I wasn't aware that Grandeur had this kind of problems on the regular.

Just a heads up to those planning a trip on Grandeur. Cabin 8549 which is an inside cabin located near stairwell and Centrum had a wet floor, furniture, and bedding issue caused by a water line in the adjoining utility space. RCCL didn't handle this event well. Daughter was in this room.
I thought my room JS 8560 was safe until the occupants of 7560 called my room asking if my tub was overflowing causing a water leakage in their cabin.
Otherwise trip was good. My second cruise on GOS with the first being about seven years ago....I don't remember the beds being so low to the floor.
-
Just off the GOS to bermuda yesterday and here is what I remember. Casino opened at 9pm each night in bermuda but my daughter memories are that the shops were closed? Shops closed on the last night of the cruise at 830 pm but the casino remained open.

Thanks for the review. Please tell what was your original cabin?

Been there done that....the Crown Loft is the winner. Con to the Crown Loft--Elevator to the 17th floor which is the same elevator that serves the WindJammer.

Wine Diapers are the way to go. I carry an extra canvas bag. for the trip home, I will place dirty clothes and anything else allowable for carry on in the canvas bag....creates extra space/pounds for placing the alcohol in suitcases.
I carry my own toiletries...never use ship or hotel...but I carry them in the minimum size needed for the week. I use it up or leave it at the end of the week to help avoid weight overages.

Yes, OP please return and complete your review. Some of us are not in attack mode, and have respect for different points of view without getting our pannies bunched.

On Oasis this week, didn't participate in CT but did dine in Coastal Kitchen each night. The CT was full each night except the last whch had about 8 diners.
