We also were on this great Halloween cruise. We did not take any excursions, but did get off the
ship. We were talking on the way home how "healthy" this cruise was. We do not wear masks.
Hoping any of you that are ill have a rapid recovery and are sailing again soon.

Sorry to be a little off topic, but does anyone know why the LA to Alaska cruises are gone? We also take advantage of the casino cruises, but my husband said no more Mexican Riveria!

We have the drink package so I had to ask. The server said it was $7 but that doesn’t sound right because a plain pina colada is $8.75. Since the Midori Colada is a specialty drink I have to order it at a bar or through a server. It’s not listed online.
🤭Thanks, but I was asking about the mask, but both pics posted. The drink looks yummy too, and I will be getting one on our Halloween cruise. I thought the mask looked perfect for what I had been looking for online. Safe travels home.

This is just what I have been looking for. If you don't mind how much was it, and can we order one online? Hope your formal night was great.

Hi Linda! Luisa is onboard for the VIP event. I don’t recognize the other hosts. They have added a live craps table and now have draw poker machines but no PokerPro or similar machines to Henry’s chagrin. We were kind of hoping they would add one but nope. Tonight being formal night it was no smoking so I was hoping the machines would be kind but no luck so we moved on.
Thanks. Those darn machines just keep calling me back though. We'll be there for Halloween VIP casino cruise. Happy sailing.

Hi Julie-hope you are having fun, and winning big in the casino! Is there a live craps table, and do you know who the casino hosts are? Everyone sounds positive and seems to be having a great time; it's been a pleasure to read the "live froms" Thanks so much. Linda

I have to ask, how did you get such a great Neptune Suite deal? By my calculations that's less that $80 pp/day if that was $1100 per person.
Hi! We had only been on 1 HAL cruise 5 years before so had no idea why we got the offer but jumped on it. It was a great cruise in a great suite. A few weeks ago we called to inquire about a west coast cruise and that was when we were a little shocked by the deposit we would have to pay. We have a bunch of FCC with Princess now because of canceled cruises. We keep looking for another similar offer from HAL. Have a great weekend
-
Has anyone mentioned the deposit for a cruise? With Princess, we can use our $100 FCC but not with HAL.
We are Elite with Princess so HAL will need to have a good offer for us. We got a Neptune suite to Alaska 14 day for $1100 best cruise ever! We keep waiting for another one. At this point give me any West Coast cruise next year that is safe. Hope everyone is save and well.

We were on the Valentine's week cruise, and were actually commenting that people were not coughing at all. I always get sick with the "kennel cough" but not this time. We had no knowledge of the virus, and what was to come. I've been home since March 15, and am going stir crazy. Hope 2021 is better for everyone.

Thank you for sharing this. I was booked on Royal May 15, 2 week Alaska rt from LA. So maybe I'll see a refund soon. BTW: Were you two on a te usuay stay with west coast cruises, with no ranslantic to Copenhagen last April? And Linda, did you hurt your foot on the stairs during the cruise? I was on the TA and I stayed at the same hotel (cam't remember the name, maybe started with letter A ???) Anyway, hope you are doing well. Do you have any future cruise plans? Patti from Oceanside, California
Good luck with your refund. No, not on that cruise. We have an Oct. 24 to Mexico, but think it will be a no go. We have spent a lot of time in Oceanside over the years. Our son was stationed at Pendleton. Our other son now lives in Poway.

We received our May 30 Alaska refund today. What a great surprise. We actually thought we might not get it back. Hope you'all will start seeing your refunds soon.

We were on the Majestic for 14 days and it didn't get to be a nuisance until the last two days. So I think the weather conditions and wind make a huge difference in where the soot goes, and hopefully you don't have to experience it.
We were just on the Royal in an aft cabin, and when we put our hands on the rail, we got the black soot. Plus that, there was an outdoor type mat right inside our balcony door, and the carpet looked dirty with black soot. If we went outside barefoot, our feet turned black-there were no outside mats, and the metal deck was very hot. We still had a great time though. This was the second week of our back to back to Mexico. The first week we were right in the middle. The aft is great, but a very loong walk.

We have found that they take the OBC first to pay for our excursions. We have to call them to change the payment to a credit card. Have fun in Alaska, one of our favorite destinations.

I wrote out a review of my family and I's time on the Golden Princess on Alaska over the summer. I plan on doing a comprehensive review of Alaska itself soon, which I will also post here. Please read and let me know if you have any questions. I can answer here on the blog.

Your review was wonderful, and we love the Golden. We are on her May 30 going to Alaska. As a retired teacher, and living in Phoenix, Alaska is the 49th state, with Arizona being the 48th. You are a great ambassador for Princess!

We are booked for May 30 too!! So excited to be cruising from LA to Alaska - but the DH will lose his you know what if there isn't a craps table - especially with all those sea days! I'm going to make a call to Princess and ask that they look into with the Casino people - if I can find anything out I will report back.
Are you on the May 30 roll call? We will definitely need to get together. Thanks for checking. I also posted on the general forum because I was so worried there wouldn't be a table. Would love to talk. Ron and Linda

Does anyone know for sure that there is or is not a craps table on the Golden. I can only talk my DH into these cruises if he has a Craps table available. We are doing the LA round trip to Alaska on May 30, 2020, and looking forward to spending time in the casino.

Well I should hope they have one on for the LA to Alaska sailings next summer or a bunch of Southern California gamblers are going to be pretty upset.
Ditto from my DH to go!!! Wonder if someone can let us know for sure? Sailing May 30.

Did you specifically ask for Porsche? Is she in support or sales? I called the number listed, was transferred 5 times (once to Groups?!) was told I could only purchase one card and wouldn't get the bonus card for a week (in the mail.) I finally gave up.
I called the number listed here in the forum, and it took a while for them to figure out where to transfer me, and Porsche answered the phone and took my order for two cards. Right now I have received everything via email!

That's so weird! They really need to figure this out as I recall gift card options last November
Well guess what just arrived in our email-2 $50 gift cards! Thank you Porsche, thank you Princess.

Thanks to your information, I called and got Porsche in about 4 minutes. She was great, and we have our 2 emailed cards. She said the gift cards would come in 24 hours, so we will see. I told her she was on Cruise Critic, as a great representative, and she was tickled.
A little update-no $50 gift cards in 24 hours. We got an email this morning that they were being processed, and will be sent to us (via email) in 3 to 5 days. Will keep waiting!

I just spent 1 hour on the phone on hold (855-426-0168). Very frustrating, but I finally was able to speak to a very nice person (Porsche) and I purchased 4 cards, each for $1000.00 and got the bonus for each. No problem, once you get through. But, it requires lots of patience (and time!)

Cherie, I watched this vid about the Hilo farmer's market - and was hooked
We have bought flowers at the farmer's market before. They came in a large bucket for the price of a small bunch at home. No problem taking them on the ship-but you can't take them off.
