  1. I didn't look very happy in the black pants photo...the picture was taken at home, by me using a tripod. Onboard I'm MUCH happier!

Earlier there was a photo posted where I posed by a bronze statue. Well, here's another.

When I find a cardigan/pullover that works on tropical cruises, I buy it! Leaving from northern ports any time but summer means a couple cool days. The beige no-button cardigan is from Ann Taylor & works for daytime and also for air-conditioned dining rooms.

I've never taken a purse before, but this one (Dooney & Bourke) is a small crossbody and was very convenient on port days.

The black sandals have gone on every cruise and are super comfy!

Girl you are a riot!! lol:)

  2. It is our experience you do NOT need an excursion at the following three ports...

Rome/Civitavecchia ~ take the train into Rome ~ easy breezy, just follow the crowd. Once in Rome you can easily do this city on your own, too. You can take a taxi to the Trevi Fountain ~ probably 10 to 15 Euro there and back, max. This is a fantastic area to see in Rome ~ high dollar shopping, cute little wine/cheese shops, Hard Rock Cafe, etc. For some fabulous history, you can take a ride on the red open-air buses ~ they are hop-on, hop-off and a WONDERFUL way to see EVERYTHING (Coliseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, US Embassy, etc) in just a few hours for under 10 Euro per person ~ though I would recommend getting off at/near Vatican City and seeing this area on foot before continuing on with your tour ~ there are many sidewalk cafes, lots of shopping, and lots to do and see in this area. The red buses are fantastic and offer headphones to give you information about what you are seeing. They really take you to some of the outer parts of the city you wouldn't think to do on your own, btw. Just taking the ride and not getting off is well over an hour, FYI. Rome is easily doable on your own and at a fantastic savings in comparison to anything else I've seen available.

So the hop on hop off buses drive close to the Vatican? i thought they didn't go that way any more.?

  3. Just returned from a marvelous 9-day cruise and thought I would offer a few "fashion" observations. Can someone please tell me why a ballcap is a staple on so many men ? I don't mean on excursions or on the pool deck but in the theater, the upscale restaurant, lectures, and other events. Not necessarily nice caps but tattered and ragged caps. Do some men purposely pack their worst and suggestive t-shirts ? Is anything more puzzling than a nicely dressed women strolling with a guy wearing a faded ballcap and a t-shirt once used during the painting of the house ? Really ?

i think they're still being defiant.. lol

  4. I know I'm coming in late on this conversation but I just wanted to post my "tip" :D. I get my mani/pedi's done at a salon. However - I get them done with gel polish instead of regular polish. The gel polish lasts so much longer. I have soft fingernails and they are short as well (short nail beds) so I grow them out a little bit and then get the gel polish. It strengthens the nail without having to have acrylics put on them so I don't break it and I also don't have to worry about peeling or chipping nail polish!

i wanna try the gel polish,, do they charge an arm-and- a- leg for that? :)
