  1. I don't know how/why we go to do it, but I did go to the engine room on a behind the scenes tour on Voyager in 2012. After visiting it, I can see the liability to RCCL of letting passengers in that area. I have been on a couple of other behind the scenes tours (Allure and Freedom) and never went in again. You can see other pictures of a behind the scenes tour by navigating the album this picture is in. Engine Room

  2. Thanks for all the insight! Sounds overall like a great ship and great itinerary ! What are some top things people like to do at these ports ?

We have been on a New England/Canada cruise twice. We really enjoyed Peggy's Cove in Halifax, but also visited the Maritime Museum. We've done the Lighthouses of Maine on one cruise in Portland and the trip to Kennebunkport on another. We like this destination so much we are going again in a few weeks and have one booked for 2017 on Vision.

  3. We were on this cruise also. Wished our embarkation experience was as good as TexasAnn described, but ours was similar to kruzerci. It took forever to get through the line to check in and we were in the Diamond line. A couple behind us got in the gold line and checked in before us. It was very slow. But that did mean our room was ready when we got on and could drop off our carry-on. Agree that the MDR menu is really blah and needs a refresh. We ate in Sabor only once (last night) and wished we would have discovered it earlier. The table side guacamole was fantastic. Didn't like Chops either as much as Giovanni's and did go there twice. We didn't get to do Johnny Rockets this time. But it was the smoothest seas I have seen in a long time. We haven't cruised out of Galveston in a few years, so it is real convenient to drive instead of fly. We booked Liberty again in April 2018.

  4. We have done this cruise twice and have it booked again in Oct 2017 on Anthem. We love this itinerary. First time we were wearing shorts because it was still warm. It's beautiful scenery when the leaves are turning. The Caribbean just seems the same from port to port - same people pushing you to buy their stuff, even the same stuff in each port. These ports seem to have more locally made souvenirs and crafts and the people want to engage in conversation with you. After a summer in Houston, we love to go to the cooler weather for a change. It is typically older people and usually only babies or toddlers - which we appreciate. You also tend to have more time in the ports because they are closer together.

  5. I was on the 5/22 sailing in Group 6. We got off a little later than the estimated time of 9 am (they had an alpha alpha alpha call during those that got off with no assistance that may have delayed us slightly). But despite that, once we were called until we got to our car at Lighthouse Parking was right about an hour 15 minutes - and that included a 20 minute wait for the bus to fill enough to depart. Crowded, but the lines moved pretty well. We live about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Galveston and were home by 11:45am.
