  1. I know that Anthem and Quantum have been exempt from the BOGHO sales. Does anyone know if you book Anthem as part of a next cruise booking while on board if you still get the reduced deposit and the extra onboard credit or are they exempt from that too? I can't find anything on their website and thought I would ask here before calling the C&A desk. Thanks in Advance

  2. We've done it on 3 ships - Mariner, Freedom and Allure. We have always enjoyed it. It varies in size from 12-18 people in our experiences. A lot of walking, sometimes in the crew stairs which aren't as nice as the ones for guests. Sometimes steeper and more narrow steps. You must wear closed toe shoes and long pants. Here are some pictures from ours on Mariner to give you an idea of what you'll see.

  3. I know this isn't original with me and saw it somewhere on CC, but we did the hanging shoe organizer over the bathroom door (hanging out into the room) for the first time. The gap at the top is perfect for hanging it. We put shoes, socks, underwear, etc. It was a really great way to get some more space.

  4. We have been to Cozumel many times and always do the beach thing! On our last trip we decided to try something else, so we did an excursion called "Salsa, Salsa, and Margarita" and loved it! We were transported from the pier to a beachside resort with an open air covered balcony area that faced the water. We were greeted with frozen drinks(alcohol or non) and nice cold wet washcloths for wiping our hands and faces. They provided tables with nice tablecloths and setups for the preparation of three savory salsas and one dessert salsa. We also made two different margaritas and a guacamole dip. They brought out quesadillas and chips for the salsa we made and also fruit and Rompope which is like a custard and ice cream. We then were taught the salsa! One of the best things we have ever done in all our travels!

We have done this twice. It is a great, fun time. Plus lots of Margarita's!

  5. First, I would try to call RCCL and see if they have a handicapped accessible room available, can't hurt to try. Second, I know you can arrange to have a wheelchair/scooter brought to the pier for you to use for the week, then they would pick it up at the end. It's not too expensive, we have done this for my mother in law. The issue would be where to store it. I don't think the hallways are wide enough to leave it in all week.

We were just on Allure a couple of weeks ago. There were at least 2 parked in our Hallway every night as the people using them didn't have an accessible room. Didn't seem to cause the state room attendants problems getting down the hall with their carts.

  6. I'm debating about getting the $55 a day drink package. It sounds so convenient no signing, no hauling water & soda on board. Not sure if I would spend $55 a day. Would be interested in hearing about your experience. And can you use it on a coffee liquor after dinner drink?

We had it for the first time on Allure of the Seas a couple of weeks ago. I am not sure about coffee liquor as I didn't try it with that. I know it doesn't include premium coffees.

For us we think it was worth it. We usually bought the 7 bottle wine package, the soda package and the bottled water in the room. By the time we added up all that plus the other drinks we would have in shows, casino, etc., I think we came out ahead. Particularly if you aren't in a suite or a diamond status where you could get free drinks in one of those lounges. We were presented a ticket to sign most every time, probably more for the additional tip than anything else. I'm not sure how they would split the tip that is supposedly included in the $55 a day. They would have to keep track of every drink you had and every bartender. We probably had more drinks than we normally would since they were all included. Not sure if we got the $55 a day mark...depends on if you get off in ports and don't have drinks on those days. It was good for the bar in Labadee, too.

  7. so now the whole reservation is gone as we leave tomorrow, ill chaulk it up to poor website and not panic i guess
Ours disappeared the day before we left too. I had given it one more look to see if it had finally cleared. I'm sure it will be there when you get on board. If you go to one of the specialty restaurants to confirm your reservation, they can see all of them at that time. You don't need to go to each restaurant to confirm.
  8. We were on Allure a couple of weeks ago and did the unlimited WIFI for 2 devices. You don't need to go to the Internet lounge to set up your account....you can do it directly from your Ipad or PC. We were able to use 2 devices at the same time - phone, Ipad, PC...whatever you want. While it is slower than land-based internet, it was really that unreasonable. And we were in the last cabin overlooking the boardwalk so I'm sure we were far from access points.

  9. We went through the same thing on our Allure sailing a few weeks ago. We made 2 reservations for 3 specialty dining restaurants, but only 1 person showed up for 1 restaurant. Spent almost a month trying to resolve and finally got to last week and told them I needed something to ensure I had these. Same story..they charged us, but our purchase history didn't show it. It showed on our calendar, but nothing else. They assured me all was well and gave me $50 OBC for my trouble. When we got on board, we confirmed that we did have the reservations. Very frustrating however, as we got different stories every time we3 called in. Take your receipts, email confirmations and credit card proof just in case.
