  1. In April plan on being in Maho around the 11-2 period for the best plane watching. With this in mind you might want to start in Marigot, then go to Maho and then end up at Orient. You could do Orient from 10-11 then Marigot from 11:30-1 and end up at Maho around 1:30. Is this a private tour? If so then check out the plane schedule closer to your dates and have them arrange the tour around the plane schedule if that is important to you.

Thank you so very much for responding! Yes it's a private tour. Our tour begins at 9:30am. I think the first stop will be Orient Beach. Then Marigot & then Maho. I will watch for the plane flight arrivals closer to our departure and maybe change it around.

    Thanks again!

  2. Hello,

We are taking a private tour with Bernard Tours in April. We would like to stop in Orient Beach for 1 hour max (Been there many many times), Marigot, and Maho Beach to watch the planes come in. My question is when is the best time to stop in Marigot? How long would you recommend stopping there? We want to eat at the French Bakery & maybe shop at the open market? It looks like, Orient Beach would be the first stop? We start our tour at 9:30am.

I know that Maho Beach is usually better in the afternoon as the big jets come in then correct?

Thanks in advance for helping me!

  3.

First stop was St Maarten where we had booke a tour thru Bernard Tours and it was fantastic. We had slim as our guise and he was spot on. Great with the historical information, was quick to answer the questions and made great effort to give us quite a few stops for pics. There was a fabulous rum punch available, waters, and regular/diet soda along with beer. We did Mayho beach and spent about an hour there so we could see the KLM 47 arrive and it was great. From there we went to Orient Beach for an hour and it was great as well. We did end up going to the French side on our way out and got an eye full at the nude beach end, lol. Just for those with children, on the Dutch side there is still a lot of topless sunbathing but on the French side it is full nudity allowed.

Did you book Bernard's Private tour? We have this booked in April. We are planning on meeting at 9:30am. How long was your tour?

  4. I am looking at this hotel as well. Do you have any more details so I can try to track it down on Hotwire?

    Thanks!

I just looked at my dates again and wow they dropped down to $106.00 per night. Kicking myself for not waiting to book. I would have saved $75.00.

Don't forget to download the app on your mobile phone. Promo Code welcome25 will give you a $25.00 discount if you book through the app.

There is also a $13.00 per day resort fee. I would recommend reading the review on Trip Advisor. Very mixed reviews. I'm keeping an open mind & i'm not overly picky.

Also, if you use the app you can see the reviews.

    Good luck!

  5. I booked a private tour with Bernard for my upcoming april cruise. It's $60 pp. We can go where we want and for however long. Spending more time at maho & marigot and less time at orient beach. Besides touring with just 8 people will be nice. We also got to set the meeting time.

  6. Hello,

Received an upsell offer. Currently booked on the Carnival Conquest 4/4/25 sailing.

    Booking date: Jan 2015

    Cat: Guarantee Inside

Offer view email: Code M6c this week

Clicked on offer within 45 min of receiving it & it was no longer available. So I called. Best they could do was a 4C for $40.00 total. I said NO THANK YOU.

Does anyone know what the code M6c is? I was thinking oceanview 6c on the main deck. I googled it & it appears to be maybe the port hole rooms? Maybe I'm just reading into it.. LOL

Oh well.. I'm still holding out for something better.

  7. They are both nice. I would choose either based on the total price, or choose Hilton Marina based on being closer to stores and to budget restaurants, since you state that you have a budget. Have a nice trip!

I won the Hyatt pier sixty six. I used a $25 promo code so it was $152. Per night. Plus I will pay the resort fee...

I'm sure it will be fine. :-)

  8. Hello,

    Just won this one Hotwire:

    Hyatt Pier Sixty Six

$139.00 per night=$278+ 54.00=$332.00 -$25.00 discount(Promo Code welcome25 if you download the app on your mobile device) so the grand total for 2 night, 2 adults/2 kids= $307.

They do charge a resort fee of $13.00 per night at check in.

I'm happy I found the extra discount code. I think at $150.00 it might be worth staying there?

  9. Hyatt pier sixty six or Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina.

Which would you choose and why? They are close the the same price except for a resort fee. Looking at $150 and lower per night. 2 adults/2 teen girls

I've been to FLL and stayed at the following places: Hyatt Place on 17th, embassy suites, bahia mar, riverside hotel. They are all over my budget.

Thanks for your help in advance!

  10. Maybe the aft verandah is better thank midship. Trust me in 8314 inside cabin you could here the music & people dancing! Deck chairs being moved. Out of 16 cruises this was the only cabin we had that was noisy. We survived. I prefer a forward lido deck or higher cabin. Maybe it was just this one cabin since it was right under where the action takes place.

  11. Off the liberty last Saturday. Sailed 1-18-14. Comedians: Eddie copone, Tim Kelly?, Thea V (best) & another guy... Sounds like they rotate through them every so often. Great islands! New menu- more choices, 2nd week with new menu & waitstaff said with more choices it takes them way longer.
