  1. We always get coffee and pastries in the am to enjoy on our balcony. Have ordered lunch one time. It was great. We swear before every cruise we are gonna order more, but never do. In January I am gonna get the chocolate cake!!!

  2. I also work for a group of orthopedic surgeons and they would sign a note if she did not feel safe on a rocking boat, out of the country. It's a legitimate injury with legitimate consequences if she falls again. I do physical therapy where I work and OP 3 weeks is NOT enough time for even a small bone fx to heal for full weighty bearing. Sorry :( but I second the scooter. Maybe the arm will heal enough for a boot and crutches though. I say go, sit in the sun with a drink and just relax.

  3. We did the steakhouse on our first cruise. Our experience was excellent. Food and service was great. That being said, I have had nothing but excellent food and service in the MDR either. I love to eat but maybe I'm easy to please? For us it took longer in the MDR each night for dinner service than the steakhouse. Didn't do the SH on out next cruise but are planning on going on in January.

I say try it once and make your own decisions.

  4. $50.00 would not be enough for me to use a TA. I want control of my booking and with any TA they own your booking and all changes have to be made through them. As Previously stated Carnival will not talk for You about your booking. I book direct through carnival.

As far as price, it really depends on stops, Eastern is usually more than Western. We are doing a 7 day Eastern in Jan 2015 for 759/ pp (Before taxes and tips). Where ever they go and however they book hope they have a great time.

  5. Ok, I need some suggestions please. We will be in St. Thomas in January, with about 23,000 other people:eek:. Yes that is 23 with 3 zeros, we will be one of 7 boats on that day. I am not big on crowds, so is there a beach that is maybe out of the way that we can get a day pass to? Somewhere that will be a bit quieter? We have never been there but the thought of all those people and trying to get on a ferry to St. John gives me anxiety just thinking about it. Thanks in advance.

  6. One of my most memorable moments on a cruise was the last one. Went with my entire family and we visited an orphanage on Roatan. We brought them about 5 duffel bags full of toys, balls, medical supplies, daily need stuff (tooth brush and tooth paste, hair ties, combs, brushes, socks and undies) Was great seeing the kids play and talking to the man who runs the house about the kids and their circumstances. Was a fun, sad and rewarding expirance for sure. Was glad my 14 y/o niece and her friend got to see how some people live, and how fortunate we are. And after visitiing the orphanage we went to a beautiful beach with awesome snorkeling. Best day ever.

  7. We have only done late assigned so far. First cruise we were sat with a group. At first I wasn't happy because we were sat with people that were a bit older than us but ended up having a blast. We really loved meeting new people, even my very quite and shy husband loved it. The next cruise we were with a group of 8 so that was the table. We LOVED our wait staff. We are trying YTD on our next cruise but have been nervous because my husband has sever food allergy and have liked the fact that our wait staff has looked out for him. We will be asking for the same wait staff (assuming we like them) so we don't have to explain it every night. I think we will like the flexibility of YTD.

  8. We have always purposely cruised while school is in session to avoid the kids. We don't have any, and while I don't hate kids buy any means, I don't want to listen to them being obnoxious on my vacation. But we have a 2015 cruise planned with several family and friends so we are going over thanksgiving:eek:

I am a bit worried but won't let it ruin my vacation. I'll just spend more time on my balcony.

  9. How much is it to use the Spa amenity's on the Dream if you are not in a spa cabin? Was thinking about maybe splurging on a Spa balcony on one of our next cruises but just read that the balcony's have no over hang, so full sun:( Same reason I wont book an aft balcony, I need my shade but would love to use the spa. Anyone know if you can just purchase the spa package without the room? Thanks

  10. I am sorry you had a rotten time. I have been sick on vacation and it was miserable. But I do agree with others, the justation periord for a cold is more than 2 days. My guess is you brought it with you.:(

I sure DON'T excuse them for putting used and dirty glasses in where the clean ones were, that's just gross!!!

HOWEVER, being a nurse you should know better, I don't understand why you thought it acceptable to go into public places and spread your germs, while you were ill?

Now someone else is coming home from their trip and has your cold.

  11. Room Service all the way. You can put a time you want it delivered on the request form so it will be there when every you anticipate waking up. LOVE having coffee and danishes or fruit in the morning on the Balcony:D

  12. Most High schools have pools now a days. and the ones around us have open swim hours. I have used my local school to tryout my new wet suit and took my mom there to try to snorkel. Looked silly in both instances but it was a safe environment to try to get comfortable in. This will sound odd but sit on your couch and try to breath through the snorkel on dry ground first. as your able to control your breath there then try to add water. Hope you are able to get over your fear because snorkeling is so much fun. good luck

  13. I would rather go for a 7 day cruise than a 4 day no matter what line it was with. I have never had a problems with carnival. Food has always been good, service has been exceptional and have had a great time, everytime. But I would have a great time even if things were not spectacular, personal choice IMHO. With the exception of NORO or something, lol. If I ever get bad service or bad (tasting) food, I hope id just move on to the next moment and back to enjoying my vacation. :D

Have fun which ever you choose.
