yes and the parking areas are not covered against flooding.

That depends on where you choose to park. There are some parking garages in converted warehouses that are secure and protected from flooding.  Just look up Galveston cruise parking options.

  2. My PVP does an outstanding job.  I started working with him shortly after the shutdown began to rebook our canceled April 2020 cruise. But I can't stress enough how invaluable he was when my husband passed away a few months before the restart and we already had 9 scheduled cruises booked and paid for (with multiple cancellations/rebooks as the shutdown dragged on). He did an amazing job straightening everything out through Carnival, and I paid zero in penalties. Yes, I always know what cabin I want and which offer (casino) I am interested in booking.  He's actually gotten me the offer I wanted at an even lower price at times. I'm sure not all PVPs are this helpful, but he always responds the same day when I contact him either by phone or email. And if he will be out of town/vacation he provides another PVP to contact in his absence. It works well for me.

  3. I just went in to pay off my upcoming cruise.  Initial log in was mine. Then it showed other people's bookings and names 4 times. England, Japan and Australia sailings. Not good. I guess I'll ride this out for awhile before trying to pay. My first Princess cruise in 13 years. 😕 3 am CST

If you do a mock booking for 1 person vs 2 people you can see that the solo person is now charged 100% of the "Required Cruise Fees and Expenses" when in the past we only had to pay our 50% share.  I spoke with someone from Carnival and they agreed the price had increased but weren't sure why.

I've tried multiple mock bookings as well for a solo and am getting the same results.  The solo booking pays for 100% of the never before separately categorized "Required Cruise Fees and Expenses"  Looks like we will be paying double occupancy cruise fees and expenses along with the normal double occupancy cruise fares. The only thing not doubled is the government fees.

  5. Jeff, thank you and Patti so much for sharing another adventure with us.  Patti's photos were fantastic, and brought back many memories for me of the Vista.  She is very much missed in Galveston. The Jubilee is also a beautiful ship and I hope you two enjoy sailing on her next year. I really look forward to following you both again on your next adventure! Thank you again. 😊

Harmony of the Seas was docked directly across from us. I went out on our balcony to look at her and was shocked to see the huge crowd of passengers heading into Costa Maya.  Holy Guacamole, we made the decision right then to stay on the ship and skip going into port.

I couldn't agree more.  I stayed on the Jubilee as well. It was a really nice afternoon!  Loved seeing the Spirit on our Starboard side.  I was trying to locate my future stateroom on the Port side 😊 Thank you for sharing your pics.

  7. Thank you so much for bringing us along! I'm really enjoying your review and sense of humor (breakfast of champions--hope to join y'all next time!) I'll be sailing the Spirit to Alaska in 2025.  I really appreciate all of the great ship photos.  And wow, I've never seen Cozumel like that.  We almost didn't make it into Mahogany Bay due to winds and rain the same week as your sailing.  Cozumel was our last stop, so the wind and waves had calmed a bit by then.  Looking forward to the rest of your adventure!

i have never seen the deli open that late, it’s always closed at 11pm.

I was on that same Panorama cruise.  The deli was closed at 9:30 PM.  The only non-fee dining available (post casino) at 10:30 pm was pizza.  With over 30 people in line. The late night snacks (11:30 pm-1 am) available on the Vista (4/9/22 - 4/16/22) are not available on Panorama.  Not sure if it's cutbacks due to staffing issues, or cutbacks to save money. Perhaps Vista is now doing the same thing.

My first time out of Long Beach and the embarkation was the worst I've ever experienced.  Thousands of people, with zero Carnival representatives.  I saw one port employee telling everyone there was only one line, and no way to see that there were 3 lines once you came around to the front/side of the building. Cruising solo made it impossible to hold my place in line to investigate further. I was sunburned by the time I boarded 😎
