I might add the crab of the crab cakes served in the Pinnacle Grill is not Dungeness crab.

When it returns I will be getting on for the Hawaii/Tahiti 34 day

Just had a great cruise on the Crown Princess and the international cafe in the atrium sold coffee drinks and served complementary snacks to anyone. Why can Princess do this but HAL cannot figure it out?

I just did a 10 day on Crown Princess out of LA. It was fabulous to say the least. I am a 4 star mariner on HAL and have twice cruised the same itinerary. The level of staffing was much better than our last HAL cruise . Great service food and ship. They also use San Francisco RT

Is this rooms veranda large enough for a chase lounge?
Plenty of room for two lounge chairs. You may ask to have them brought to the Lani.

We have found the Bestwestern Harbor Palms to be great for free parking and fast shuttles to cruise port or airport

We love the cabins 220 and 205 on these ships. The balcony
is much larger but the cabin are the same. Some people do not like the
fact that the outside door is right out the cabin but we have not found
this to be a noise problem. The aft deck is perfect for shade after sometime
up at the pool area. I love that we can leave our room go out the door and
up one flight of stairs to the pool!
I have not heard any excessive noise from the dining room and this class of
ship never has a crowded feeling. We are going on the 34 day Hawaii/Tahiti next April
and I am counting the days already!

Take the SA near the NL we had the same option on our last cruise thru the canal repo. Too far from the lounge and no air conditioning.

As has been said -- don't worry if you are not upgraded or offered an upsell to a higher cabin.
All the SA's, SB's and SC's have the same perks.
I now always book my location rather than suite type. We were "upgraded"to an aft wrap around on our last cruise on the Zuiderdam. What a mistake we made, it was a panama canal cruise and normally would have been great, but, no air conditioning and poor location. Quite a walk to the Neptune Lounge and can be on another floor. Our cabin steward was not used to the suite perks as the cabins around us he serviced were not the same cabin category. As a result we had to train him on what we should have in our cabin etc. Never again.

We will be on the Westerdam in May to Alaska, are movies shown on that ship and if so where? Cannot see a theater on the deck plans.

They're not the same any more. The Rotterdam still has the large "wading pool".

Could someone tell me why HAL has both ships in South America for the winter season but summer there???? The Retreat looks like a great place for an outdoor pool!

I was informed by sails7seas that the Maasdam is not going to get a poolette. I am hoping this is true. Anything new on this?

Our family took a Mexico Riveria cruise March 1990 from LA. We had a very small inside cabin for this three of us. You could barely turn around in the shower stall, but we had a blast and some years later my DH and I took a Panama Canal cruise on HAL Maasdam and enjoyed a outside cabin. Our next cruise was a balcony in Tahiti and it has been a balcony ever since.
So here we go again!!! CCL

Why not just bring a refillable water bottle, sold everywhere, and use the great ship water? I don't understand the need to bring cases onboard.
