Thank you for your review. We are booked on this ship for May 4th and wondering if any one else who frequents CC is. Information is hard to come by. The Travel agent also told me they have discontinued the all inclusive. That was a little disappointing since the port fees and taxes were almost the price of the cruise, but it is still a bargain.
  2. I was just informed that on the TA from Savona to Miami.... There was hardly

any activities organized for sea days except for crafts or dance lessons ....

I was hoping for progressive trivia....Martini classes....

Beer tastings .... Port lectures....Karaoke....pool games and activities of that nature as I experienced on NCL

If these activities are not part of the dailies...... Should the cruise director

    be approached about it??!

Any feedback on previous TA experiences appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. Is the work completed??! Is she back on dry dock?!!!

It seems no sailings available until April....

Will post a review after 17th January

Hoping it will be more favourable, but I am so in need of a holiday, I think I can put up with anything!

    Merry Xmas to you all

  6. as per Costa web site......." Premium Cabins occupy a privileged position on the higher decks of the ship and offer some delightful treats, including free continental breakfast on request, served in your cabin, free cabin service (24-hour Room Service) and the option to make a dinner reservation for the restaurant."

I just booked one on Deliziosa....... can anybody expand on the "Continental breakfast and 24 room service"...

Would I be able to order meals from the main dinning room or there is a Room service menu?

    Would it cover drinks???

    Thanks

  7. Maho is where you see the planes,,,,,,and Mullet is the one away from Maho walking thru a golf course......?????

    AJ

Maho Beach is not a bad beach for swimming, sometimes it is a little steep. Next to the road is a little bar that looks a little like a boat. They have great cheap drinks and many people say their pizza is the best on the island. Burgers are not bad either. You can park in the Timeshare parking lot just past the Sunset Bar, and there is a Taco place on the Casino parking lot that is pretty good. Most of the large planes come in around noon to 2 PM.

Mullet Beach is only a 15 minute walk from Maho and it is a very pretty beach with a couple of rib stands that are supposed to be good.

You kids might enjoy the butterfly farm, but you have to go there early in the day and it is across the island, near Orient Beach. Orient is a great beach for playing in the surf. It is very gentle and usually the waves are small. Chair, drink & umbrella should be around $7-10.

There is not really any beach snorkeling anywhere. Body surfing all depends on the weather. Consider Guana Beach.

I have never found any good shells anywhere on the island, and technically it is illegal to remove them. Sometimes I have found a few smaller shells between the BIG rocks underwater near the shore just before you get to the Timeshare at the other end of Maho Beach from the Sunset Bar.

  8. While I am optimistic....I would lie if I say I am not worry about my 30 days upcoming on Luminosa..... I will keep a dailyblog and attach pictures to it...

Yes...food is subjective....I just came back from a land vacation to a Caribbean destination... (been at the same resort 17 times) took my wine and Vodka.....Love the people,,,,the beach and weather....some dishes to me ( I am a foodie) were a 5.......while others eating the same rated 3 or viceversa.

Had planned to get the AI....but since I am travelling with my little girl who would not drink juices or pop....the package is almost 1800 US for the two of us.... as much as I enjoy cocktails and wine....will never be able to drink almost 60 bucks a day... :(

I have written another review.....and will make a detailed review of the Luminosa when I get back.

I have search on other Cruising Forums (Italian and Spanish) and the Costa and MSC activity is as slow as in here.... :(

  9. One stop shopping/searching in ur signature.Thanks:);):D

"Most" people on here seem to recommend Chankanaab. There are 2 dolphin swim places there...just everyone seems to like Chankanaab best.

Chankanaab is a National Park, so there is an admission to get in...unless you are doing a swim, then the price is included, which is awesome.

The grounds are beautiful, food is good (and cheaper if you get it on the beach versus the restaurant), awesome snorkeling, a cove beach, self guided tour to the "ruins" area and they have added a small zip line and an alligator area. They also have some type of human gerbil ball too.

I have 2 reviews listed in my signature with tons of pictures of Chankanaab itself. It's still my favorite place in Cozumel so far...and I have been to quite a few. :D

I also have a review from our dolphin swim...which my youngest daughter (who was 3 at the time) loved and my oldest daughter (who was 25? I think) at the time and did the push pull swim.

    Highly recommended.

They also have "sales" that you can watch for...buy 1 for $99 (or whatever) and get the second for $1. :)

  10. Those things are scary...... :(:eek::eek:

    Thanks again

    AJ

Agree with Lulu, and would highly recommend Fat FIsh Adventures for the day. We used them while staying on GCM but they cater to cruisers and are more pseronal than the large operators and take smaller groups that avoid the larger groups.
  11. Will search further now with this info.....

Some of the best zip lining in the Caribbean is in Roatan.

South Shore Canopy and Pirates of the Caribbean get the most mention on this board. South Shore goes over deep canyons. Pirates has tall structures for starting points and different types of zip lines for different experiences.

There's also Clip N Zip at Mahogany Bay if you're on a Carnival or Princess ship that docks there. It head up the hill and you zip down with great vistas of the south side of the island and the cruise port.

Victor Bodden torus has its own zip line as well.

Anthony's Key has a dolphin/marine wildlife type excursion. Google Anthony's Key and look up their tour. There may be one or two other dolphin excursions there. But if any of these deal with cruise ships they won't accept a private excursion from a cruise ship passenger.

  12. I will keep searching for other ports...

    AJ

There's no Zip Line in GT. If you're on the top deck of your ship you can see the entire island. It's flat.

I don't know of any dolphin (as in swim-with-the-dolphins) excursion in GT. People on diving tours have seen wild blue nose dolphins. These are more prevalent in Provo/Grace Bay and Middle Caicos than around Grand Turk.

  13. Will search now for Chankanaab

My kids did the dolphin swim in Chankanaab several years ago and loved it - I did not love the cost of the photos and video CD.
  14. After downloading...explains is free "IF" you have onboard WIFI network connection...

Can someone explain the fine print please:confused:......is it free to chat with others on the ship or not????Do I need to pay for WIFI connection and then use the app???

    Thanks

  15. I did a search on the tine in the Frsnce port forum and read/followed ur posts and other people .... But u were the only one to actually post after travelling and being detailed about it.

My little girl is autistic .... So I need big time planning before actually picking a hotel or area.....

And because I have a million questions that's why I gave u my email ......

How long was the ride to Paris by train ??

How easy to access train ?!

How central is the station at both ends ?

I can go on and on.... Hope u can help ;)

We have done couple of TA's and even went up to Russia lást year .... She has

Different abilities but with my research and previous travellers help.... We roll the world .
