  1. We are booking the NA for Alaska next spring. It will be our first time booking an ocean view cabin (& actually only our second cruise). I could use some advice about where the best cabins may be located. I'm mostly worried about noise rather than being a bit far from things. Can anyone help please?

  2. We have decided to move our reservation from R/T Seattle to R/T Vancouver but are still going to fly into Seattle to save some cash. Our idea is to take the Amtrak the morning of the cruise to Vancouver. My only concern is going in the morning of. I know flying in the day of is such a bad idea but I have little experience with Amtrak. Has anyone taken the train to Vancouver the morning of? What was your experience? Has anyone missed the boat due to Amtrak issues? I can't believe how much effort has gone into this trip and we are still a year off!!!!

  3. We currently have the Crown Princess booked for May 2016 R/T Seattle. They are offering a similar trip one week earlier R/T Vancouver. Same ports with just a little more time in port with the Vancouver departure. However, it would cost us almost $1600 more for the Vancouver trip as we have free flights to Seattle. I know there are options for getting to Vancouver from Seattle for a reasonable price but we have two issues. One, we are short on time and only have the day prior to the cruise and the day after for travel. Two, we have never been to Seattle or Vancouver and since we are going to one want to spend a bit of time exploring one of the two cities rather than going from plane to bus/train. I just can't help replaying the options over and over and second guessing our decision. Help!!!!

  4. Budget is not really an issue as we will only be in town for 2 nights. We are looking for the most convenient hotel to Space Needle, Pike Place Market, & restaurants. I would like somewhere we can walk to and from to these places and feel comfortable. Homeless do not bother me but aggressive pushy individuals do make me uncomfortable. We won't be out late but maybe 9-10pm at the latest. What hotels would you recommend instead?

  5. We are looking at staying here for a couple days prior to our Alaskan cruise. Has anyone had experience with this hotel? What were your thoughts? The reviews are really good but still it seems to be at the edge of a sketchy area. Is it safe to walk around at night going back to the hotel? Are we better off staying elsewhere in the city?

  6. We are going on an R/T Alaskan cruise next May and have a few days in Seattle prior to leaving. We want to explore Seattle but were thinking of taking the Clipper over to Victoria for the day. Has anyone had experience doing this? Mostly I want to see the gardens and spend a little time in the harbor. I know we have from 7-11pm the last night of our cruise to explore but that seems like such a small amount of time. Thank you for any suggestions or thoughts.

  7. We are doing a R/T Seattle cruise on the Crown. We currently have B748 booked which is an aft corner balcony on the starboard side. Should we switch to a port side regular balcony on the Aloha deck? Wanting the best location to see scenery & wildlife when we are not on the public deck so. Also looking for the most protection from the elements if the weather is not so great.

  8. New to Princess and have a quick question. When reviewing patters from the same itinerary I am on it shows all aboard time is an hour before departure. The last cruise we were on had a 1/2 prior to departure all aboard time. Is that set in stone or do you have until approx 1/2 before departure to board?

  9. My husband and I are back and forth on whether to book the Crown Princess to Alaska next May. Seems every day brings a new concern about whether Costa Rica or Hawaii would be better. One of our biggest concerns is that we are active adults in our mid-30's and will be sailing without our daughter and not sure if we will be (for lack of a better term) bored. I know the excursions we are looking at will be a blast and Glacier Bay will be awesome I am sure but what about the rest of the time. Walking around in ports, being on the ship, etc. I am curious what others in our age group have thought of this trip. Would you go again or wait until you were a bit older as the vacation itself is not as active as some other options. I realize everyone's opinions are different but I just am hopeful to hear others opinions. I appreciate any feedback.

  10. We are looking a R/T Seattle cruise to Alaska in May 2016. Our options are the Westerdam and Crown Princess. We have not cruised either line. We are leaning towards the Crown, however, it is hard to find reviews on this ship. What are your thoughts on this ship for Alaska? Is it too big? Is it a good ship overall? Are we better off looking more closely at the Westerdam? The only positive to the Westerdam is a stop in Sitka. Thanks for any and all advice. We are cruising newbies and have been contimplating Alaska for a few years now and might actually pull the trigger!

  11. I think we've finally decided on a Princess May 14th cruise roundtrip Vancouver. We would like to go a little later in May but it seems they only do a couple of these a season. Is May 14th too early to go? Will we have issues booking excursions or things being open in port? Would we be better off going late May from Seattle?
