  1. It’s the same thing with just about any cc purchase. Quick to take the money…but slow as molasses in January to return it! 😫
  2. I have the invoice with Cancelled on it. Under Payment Details, one line says Initial Deposit with the amount. The second line says Payment Refund with the same amount. So I did indeed book a refundable deposit. The 30 days are up tomorrow but my agent isn’t in the office until next week so I’ll have her follow up.
  3. Although one would think if Royal send the refund to the travel agent, she would have passed it on to me. I’ll email her after the 30-day time limit has passed. Thank you for the information.
  4. I didn’t know that either. The other amounts were easy to verify. My travel agent will have to pursue the refund now.
  5. True, but purchases made on this cruise were refunded back to the same card within 2-3 days.
  6. I booked a cruise using the Refundable Deposit amount. Long before final payment, I cancelled the cruise, and did not replace it with another cruise. Do I receive the whole deposit back, or does Royal Caribbean charge the $100 fee, and refund the balance? I have a Cancelled invoice stating a Payment Refund of the full deposit amount dated January 9…..but have not received any refund on my cc. Royal is usually pretty fast about giving refunds so I’m surprised that a month later nothing has happened. I phoned them, but the cruise was handled by a travel agent and the agent told me that Royal has 30 days to issue a refund…so I’m stuck until the 30 days are up. I’ll remind the agent next week (she doesn’t work Fri or Sat)…
  7. Thank you Yocrui5e……the cruise port did look quite far away for walking. I did some research too and found that the taxi service is reliable and easy to call. I appreciate your recommendation. I normally walk just about anywhere once in a downtown core but the names of the streets are very different to my brain, that I’m afraid of becoming very lost. I do have maps which will help, and I’m not going to be too adventurous. As long as I know I can get a taxi I will feel more relaxed. 😊
  8. Will be in Reykjavik in Early September and have a few places I’d like to see. We’ll be docked in the usual cruise ship port and I want to see the church, then visit the shopping street. Our hours are from 1pm one day to 1pm the next day….not really optimum for a day’s visit, being broken into two half-days. So I was wondering if there are taxis in Reykjavik so I can get from one place to another quickly and easily. This isn’t my first time in this port, but the first time I’ve had to go into the town. Thank you for any information. 😊
  9. Wow, that’s different…I was introduced to Skittles. Had never heard of them!
  10. I suppose you could give to your cabin steward and ask him to give it back or give it to him/her to keep. I appreciate the gesture. A basket of bacon wouldn’t thrill me, LOL
  11. Wonder if I’ll get them next year? I have 2 b2bs booked. It shows appreciation.
  12. They must have restarted the gesture. That’s nice of them!
  13. ….and when we did B2Bs in the good old days, you received a nice fruit basket with a bottle of wine in your cabin. That was a really nice touch.
  14. I’m happy to read all these comments. Paradise was my very first cruise way back in 2002…..and I’m booked on her for a B2B in 2024. I hope more folks chime in with comments…I’m really looking forward to sailing on her again! 😊
  15. I did the Tailgating cooking on Celebration in November. We made about 4 appetizer type foods. There are two people per station, all ingredients are supplied and prepped mostly. The teacher explained what to do. Staff helpers take the food away to be cooked. It was fun…..you do eat the food you made. They will email the recipes to you if you provide your email address. We each received a red spatula to take home.
  16. I tend to book in Canadian $$. I still receive the OBC in U.S. $$, that doesn’t change and neither does the deposit. The CDN equivalent of the U.S. deposit is quite comparable. I love the Easy Pay system, use it all the time. It’s the dropping CDN dollar that is a bummer. My one EP monthly payment is $36 U.S. per month….which started out converting to about $50 CDN…..now it’s up above $60 CDN. My cruise is getting more expensive as time goes on. And the B of C is putting interest rates up again. Will see what happens..might be better off paying in full.
  17. Hopefully you can see the Sunday Roast lunch at Duke of Wellington. I had Sticky Toffee for dessert. The veggies with the meal are in behind the ‘bun’ (I know it’s not a bun, but the name escapes me right now. It was a delicious meal.
  18. If you’re in Southampton on a Sunday..I would recommend having the Sunday Roast lunch at the Duke of Wellington pub. I did this past November and really enjoyed it. You must make a reservation though..it fills up quickly. The pub is in easy walking distance from the mall….in fact, I walked from Ennio’s to the Mall without a problem. The pub was on the way!
  19. Not that long ago I bought $75 worth of OBC, it cost me $97.50 CDN. I’m not sure if that’s a great deal….but I wanted to supplement a travel agent OBC.
  20. Most people give the server a tip when served the drink, even though gratuities have already been added when purchasing the beverage package.
  21. Sailed on Celebration in November. Afternoon tea was served a few times on sea days….it certainly wasn’t like Harrod’s Afternoon tea..🤣…but it was an enjoyable gathering with friends to eat scones, desserts and drink tea. Tea was a pot of hot water and tea bags….we brought our own. Tea bags were offered but not a great selection..maybe one or two varieties.
  22. Thank you Saint Greg and hfdad. I’ll watch for it as the excursions are listed.
  23. Does one reserve the shuttle to the Cruise Port from the airport through the Carnival website? I have some Carnival cruises booked for 2024. Thank you. 😊
