  1. I just got an almost free one too a few days ago

Offer from the casino from last week.

8 day Vista 4J big corner cabin for $454 . With $200 obc and to my surprise I booked with my Amex and they gave me the $100 statement credit somehow even though it wasn't quite $500.

    $154 for 2 ! Can't wait

  2. We used Uber a month ago at 10am from hotel to cruise port. The driver didn’t speak English and got lost. The final fare was 3X the original quote. We paid for his education of how to get to the port. Uber was unsympathetic and refused to adjust the fare. It’s the hotel shuttle for us next time.

I thought maybe we would encounter that and to our surprise all clean new cars, good drivers and all used GPS. As far as 3x the price that's something that turned me off with Uber. With Lyft as long as you put a destination your locked in to the estimate once you send for a driver

  3. Fabulous since the hotel /beach ie is in walking distance . After a time there ,we can then walk the city . Perfect:cool:
I must say this is the best kept secret that I've seen on cruise critic! We were there Thursday and for $20 each and free palapa , chair and towels I'm afraid the price will go up soon. The infinity pool was incredible. I'll post a few pics. 5 minute walk from the ship 5119cc33daa6d35fbdea6b54badcf855.jpga3a56b0e3ffee6862698b86c08b0a6c0.jpg2e5e35fa2c553bc331ba13c675baf4f0.jpgbbdc5eac80a28fdecb8b9311dd1051c8.jpg

  4. You're welcome. We enjoyed the greater variety on the new menu and consider it to be an upgrade.
We just got back Sunday and loved the deli and thought it's an upgrade as well. Even though all pre-made they were good. The meatball, turkey on pretzel bun, Reuben, Cuban, southwest wrap were all good

  5. Well we are home from vacation and wanted to help others with a follow up.We used Lyft and it was so cheap easy and painless! The top is what I paid from Miami port to fort Lauderdale airport

The second is from Hallandale Beach to port of miami

And third was from fort Lauderdale airport to Hallandale Beach hotel

Like I said painless and much cheaper than a taxi

Thanks again for the help guys aa124b05af8183027038dbb145f71f03.jpg

  6. Also, meant to mention that I probably spent as much on drinks on the casino on this last cruise as the amount that I overall lost. That was aggravating.
We find in our experiences the casino is best the first day so what we do is aim for 1500 points the first day which costs me somewhere between maybe $700 to $1000 if our luck is bad. I figure the drink package is about $800 for this cruise so we basically paid for it with a chance to win some money and have some fun. This cruise was strange we couldn't find good machines until late in the cruise, I remember one my wife was playing she got 6000 points on one $100 bill she put in playing $8.80 per spin but it was too late for us to play catch up to try to get our money back

  7. Does anybody know how many casino points one needs to get a buyback offer/complimentary cruise from the casino and are they only interior cabins?
Just got off Vista today. I had 19000 points got an offer for $100 for inside with $100 obc essentially free or $200 for OV cabin with $200 obc. This cruise lost over 10k and got an OV cabin comped [emoji23]

  8. Thought I'd add a few things I've noticed

Drinks on us card you can get 2 drinks. One with booze and one non alcohol. This is a first for me on Carnival, maybe not new

Ice cream lovers at 1230 they have at lido midship inside the buffet fresh made daily ice cream /gelato. The flavors change daily. I've seen passion fruit, coconut, salted caramel, Tiramisu so far.

The deli has pre made sandwiches now and Grill them similar to subway. Still really good though

any other questions I'll try to help ?

  9. The Vista doesn't have a t-pool. She was originally supposed to have one, but they didn't have enough room for the equipment to run it. I never personally visited the spa while I was on board, but I know there is no t-pool

We thought this as well. Three different staff members said it was indeed a thallaso pool with minerals

  10. Helpful thread!

Does the Vista gym have a steam room and sauna that can be used? Just trying to decide if we need to plan on getting a spa pass.

Yes a sauna in the men's room. I'd save my money the spa is waaaaay to small with a thallaso pool that I kid you not is 2 feet deep. We are on the vista right now.$229 not well spent for us

  11. If you have seen what I have fit in an UberX.... Lol.

You will be more than fine with an UberX for 2 people plus bags... I've taken 4 large checked bags, 2 carry ons and 2 people in an UberX many times. Stack the bags on the unused seat, etc. You just have 2 suitcases? Easy.

Just an update.... We are in Florida and we used Lyft twice and it was a great experience! Thanks again

We didn't use uber it was like 30 percent more after I did a price comparison

  12. Thanks again guys I appreciate it!

My cc info is all set and I have a $15 off first ride and I sent my wife my link and she has $5 off first 4 rides so I'm thinking that'll save us a few bucks too. I'm a happy man hopefully those $50,$60,$70 taxi days are over for us :)

OK so I'm back one more time before our vacation starts ;)

So I go onto the uber app and try to schedule our pickup from home to our local airport maybe 15 minutes away.

First thing that's strange is I did mock trips and three times the price was different? Why's that

Second I tried to do the pickup for 430am because we have an early flight and it says after my pickup time they'll let me know if a driver is unavailable for our ride! WTH isn't that the reason to schedule? Then if not we have to scramble to find a cab at 430am

Is this always the way it is with Uber/Lyft

I did spend 2 hours reading on Ubers website and wasn't very helpful. You would think that being the most valuable privately owned company in the world they would have a better IT team :)

    Thanks again

  13. Ya never know. I put $100 in a slot on the Paradise on the first night. Was betting $2 a spin, and stay until closing... next day I had free drinks at 4pm. Same $100 that I put in...
That's a wonderful thing isn't it! We usually gamble the most the first day or two because in our experience the machines are more open and let us play longer. We always have the DOU card by day 2 or should I say my wife does :)

  14. Hello Cruisers! I am a bit confused about what is the best way to play in the casino. I am not a huge gambler, but have allotted myself about 300 dollars. Is it better to play with cash, or is it better to use the Sign and sail card to pay at the end of the cruise. Benefits or drawbacks to either? Also is it worth putting your sign and sail card in the machine when you gamble? Thanks in advance!
It's a must to use your card when playing slots! That's the only way to cash out your big wins ;)

It's very quick and a slot attendant will help and give you a free lanyard which for us is also a must, we keep it around our necks, it's easy to misplace a card

As far as cash or credit card via your sign and sail it depends on if your like us we use gift cards that we got a 10% discount. So for us we save that on our losses. Or if you have a card that gives cash back it may be better to charge it and pay as soon as the bill comes in after your trip

  15. IMO, frozen drinks are an excuse for a bar to skimp on spirits (also makes the drink so cold that you barely taste anything).

For run that's readily available and not outlandishly expensive, Mount Gay Eclipse or, better still, their Black Barrel is our everyday rum at home. Appleton is also good. Personally, I'd never drink "light" rum, even if recipe calls for it.

BTW, if you order a "painkiller," the classic uses Pussers Rum - not great but, at least, authentic.

If your a rum drinker you MUST try this ! The most smooth wonderful rum we have ever had. We drink it on the rocks or straight up8f70fbc82a79c902946c554cdfc02883.jpg
