  1. Hey yall,

Were cruising on the Carnival Vista in September, I was trying to find a website that monitored the current Playlist Production shows on the ships to look up and see which will be on Vista. I vaguely remember before the pandemic of a site that was keeping up to date with them. Anyone know the site or a similar one? Or do you know what shows will be on the Vista come September?

    Thanks in advance!

I’m not saying that 15 makes you black out drunk. But for me, in your scenario, I would be passed out by lunch.

not saying passed out wasted. Just napping and too sleepy to keep drinking. I booked an spa day at an all inclusive once around 11. I had 3 mimosas beforehand and slept through half the massage.

I totally get that!! We have taken a many after lunch boozy naps!! haha

15 is just for alcohol. Everything else is unlimited. You will find people on here saying they drink all day and 15 isn’t enough. It really just varies by person. If I have 7-8 drinks throughout the day I end up napping until dinner. Can’t imagine making it through 15.

We find it rather easy, although we've only hit 15 once. Below is a sea day example

    8am - wake grab breakfast & a bloody Mary

9am - 12pm - trivia/pool/various onboard activities 3-4 Drinks; cruisers, kiss on the lips ect

    12pm - Lunch - drink

1pm - 4:30pm - trivia/pool/various onboard activities 3-4 drinks; cruisers, kiss on the lips ect

4:30pm - grab a "get ready" drink to take back to the room to get ready for dinner

5:30pm - Atrium bar "drink" while waiting for the MDR

    6pm - 1-2 drinks @ dinner

8pm - Pre show fun & pre show cocktail

    8:30pm - Show Drink

    9:30 - 12am Alchemy Bar/Dance Club/Comedy Shows 2-3 drinks

This is anywhere between 15-19, so obviously this isn't an exact science, as I said we've only hit 15 once. But its defiantly possible to drink 15 without getting blackout drunk. The problem is people try to fit in 15 drinks after dinner and that's just dumb.

I gather from your inquiry, you plan on traveling the day of embarkation, with going to Waco first to pick up a friend, THEN drive down to Galveston. I hope you realize you have about a good 7 or 8 hour(or longer) drive in front of you to just get to Galveston. We live in Arlington and have interstate highway the entire trip, and it takes us a good 6 hrs & 30 min. And you don't have interstate highway the entire trip, unless you go the longgggg route.

But to answer your question, Carnival opens the doors starting around 10:30 am. BUT, that is not the boarding time. That's the port check in time. And that's IF the ship gets back to Galveston as per their stated arrival time(the real arrival time can vary because of a number of possible delays). Typically, the actual boarding time is around 11:00-11:30. I THINK Carnival cuts off accepting passengers to board at around 3:00 or so.

As always, YMMV.  Happy sailing! The Vista is beautiful ship with lots of things to do. We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night on her back in August, 2021. As far as boarding goes, we chose a 1:30 check in time and their were no crowds at all, and didn't stop walking until we got on the ship...About 2pm.

With all due respect (and a little jest) HOW SLOW DO YOU DRIVE? From Fort Worth it takes us maybe five hours, six if we stop. Really though thank you for the information. We've decide to stay the night in Waco, then drive down that morning. Takes just a little of 3.5 hours to get to port, plus a Buccee's stop!!

  5. Hey Cruisers!!

I'm planning the day of road trip to the Port of Galveston for our September Vista Cruise. I haven't cruised since Coivd-19. We're platinum but aren't concerned about being on first. We're needing to pick up one of our companions in Waco the day of (long story) otherwise we would usually come in the night before.

So my question is, to assist in my itinerary for that morning; What have been the start of boarding times? What is the last time to get on board? How long has the boarding process been taking?

    THANKS BESTIES

Everytime I book for hubby and myself, I always leave his name as TBD and add it just before final payment.  That way if he pisses me off, I can take my BFF!!!  hahahaha... just kidding!!  But no really,  I have done that on the last 3 I booked.  He just tells me he is along for the ride.. lol.

When doing this, you dont have to pay the name change fee?

  7. Hey yall,

I wanted to get some advice. I am wanting to book a cruise for my mom. She has taken me on a dozen or so cruises and have paid for them all, I would like to take her and pay for it myself. I know if she knew I was planning one she would try to contribute. On the Carnival site, can I add her information and cruise number without her knowing about it. My fear is she will log in to your profile, which she does regularly, or will receive emails from carnival. Is there a way around this?

    Thanks in advance!

  8. Hey yall!

I did spa massage last year on our cruise, however, laying on the table for the extended time cause my back to hurt. I was wondering if yall knew if Carnival did a chair massage so I am not having to lay down the entire time?

    Thanks in advance!

  9. My carnival profile says I have "7 VIFP Points until PLATINUM" So does that mean on my next 7-day cruise I will be platinum status?

I know you that if you are earning your next status on a cruise you get the benefits from the beginning. I am just not sure if I will earn it one this way because it's 7 and 7.

  10. I've been on a few cruises so far, but I don't typically keep track of my time on board.

So my question is; is there a set time for the safety briefing? 30 mins prior to sailing? Once everyone is on board?

Just wondering, also wanting to see if there's enough time to soak in the hot tubs before, lol

  11. Years ago I used to keep track of my past cruises via a website that would keep the dates the ship and the ports, I'm working on a project that I need the exact ports.

However for the life of me, I cannot remember the site.

I do remember once you logged in, the profile would make a sorta vertical timeline of your trips and would show a digital style photo of your ship.

Thanks in advance for yalls help!
