For years now, all Hal ships have no trays in Lido. So yes this is normal for Hal.
-
Only on grand voyages. I don't think the Noordam does any.
-
No, only on grand voyages.
-
Well, that IS news to me! We've never seen binoculars in any stateroom we've had on four cruises! Where do they hide them? :p We're going to be on the Noordam soon so will have to look further!

Same here. Never found any binoculars on hal ships.

On the Zaandam, the steward himself suggested to remove the couch. We said yes and after dinner it was gone.
-
Is it raining or just high seas/winds?
No. Only overcast clouds. One hour away from the island it was severe sunny again.
Yesterday it took a second (and last, by captains words) attempt to dock at GrandTurk. This was caused by very strong crosswinds. We waited one hour after scheduled departure time for the wind to die down a bit.
-
The seas are really rough. In fact the promenade deck is still closed 4 hr after we left Samana bay. The ship is still rocking and rolling. As far as I can tell, many understood the captains decision. You could really see the waves crashing on shore.
-
Due to high winds and Swells the tenderport of Samana has just been cancelled.
The 25 minute ride would have been to rough. Another seaday.
-
Ah.. Early. No problem, we are on european time.
Thanks.

Thank you.
I would like to know the arrivaltime though als our hotel is close by and I would like to watch its arrival .

Does anybody know what the expected Arrivaltime of the Noordam is on december 06 in port everglades?
We Will be joining on that date.

And away she goes!

I have asked for a lounger twice and never discussed a tip (different ships).
When returning from our eveningmeal it was there.
The stewards offcourse received a generous tip when the cruise ended.

Roy posted a photo of the addition in Post # 4 of this thread:)
Joanie
Thank you.
Also, any photo's inside?
-
Doe someone have photo's of the addition?

The dam word in the dam ships actually means: Dyke, levvy. It's got nothing to do with bunny. That notwithstanding it is a funny review.
-
Also. the captain or his representative will not put anything in writing.
Last Panama canal cruise, feb 2012, had some significant happenings.
A fire in the spa, waking up everybody at night.
A diversion to an unscheduled port to disembark a sick crewmember, thereby missing a scheduled port.
All of this was NOT mentioned on the cruiselog, given to all passengers on the last seaday. Wat were they thinking? That we forgot it?

I don't see any more new ships planned for the HAL fleet. Are they content with what they have, no plans for more growth?
Last summer I asked the first mate (second in command) this very question. His answer was a promp and certain NO. There are no other ships planned in the future.
