Unlike current ships, Sun/Star Princess cabins will alternate every other room - either by balcony or by door. Including mini-suites. You'd have to check your specific cabin number to see where bed was located.
Interesting!

Jump to 12:56 minutes in to see the mini-suite.

Even though it says you can bid 70 days. before, that is not always the case. Mine was 28 days after the stated time, so just wait for the email.

I had this problem yesterday and could not get in at all. Today I can get I'm, but I can't access my cruise. I have not been able to access my cruise for about 2 weeks now, it is quite frustrating. One day I was able to access it to make a payment finally, but do nothing else. I really want to be able to look at excursions, but I can only do that from the app, which is not as ideal for me.

We had a wonderful waiter in the Ketchikan dining room, Edward. He brought us extra food each meal, which we have not had done in quite some time. We did find that the fettuccini did not seem like the same recipe, it was much more bland.
Our room steward was just ok, nothing great. I never received my robe, and he only gave us 3 towels for the 3 of us, no extras.
We were given "walk-off" luggage tags, even though we did not ask for walk-off. We went to Guest Services immediately and switched to the last group to disembark.
We turned Elite at the end of this cruise, but we never received a letter stating so. 😞
We really lucked out with the weather too, as it seemed to rain after we left each area. We did the Folkorico show in Ensenada and we found it to be excellent. We rented a car in San Diego to visit our favorite places. We had a great. cruise, it was just what we needed!

I found my old post about when I could bid:
“Bidding should have opened 70 days before our 4-day cruise, but it didn't. Just yesterday I finally received an email telling me that I could bid to upgrade (42 days beforethe cruise). I bid yesterday and got my upgrade today!”
-
I had the same issue and it was about a month after I was eligible to bid that I had the opportunity to actually bid. Just wait for the email saying it is now open to bid.

We watched the video while eating. 🙂 Normally we arrive earlier, but we spent the morning at Disneyland.

We are on board too! We arrived to the port around 12 and it was an absolute nightmare trying to get dropped off. It took 30 minutes to go 1.5 miles, but we finally made it on. Ate at the buffet and had my first ice cream. 🙂

I double-checked my emails and the counter bid was accepted 8 days after they offered me the deal.

We received a counteroffer this past summer. We had booked a balcony and bid on everything we could bid on. About 1 month before the cruise we received the counteroffer for a full suite and we made the offer. Within the week it was accepted. 🙂

Thanks everyone for all the information! Based on all I've read, Ensenada isn't really high on my to-do list, but this trip checks off a bunch of "firsts" for my kids. It is their first time on a plane; their first time cruising; and, their first time out of the country. We want to do just enough in Ensenada that they can say they've been to Mexico!
We are on this same cruise (have you found a roll call board?). We are going to see the folklórico show as it seems to get good reviews.
Have you received an offer to bid to upgrade? There are a lot of rooms left, but I can't seem to upgrade.

Forget that. They don't offer deals onboard. If they have cabins available they will want full market price difference. No deals. I know, We've tried.
Bummer. I am fully paid, can I reach out to Princess and upgrade without losing my OBC?

I was once told it was only offered on 7 day plus cruises. Don't know if that's true.
Interesting! Their chart says that cruises less than 7 days can be bid on 70 days before departure. But, that would make sense why I can't bid.

Suggestion that once you’re on the ship upon boarding go to the PSD & ask. I suggest that you bring a list of the staterooms that you’re interested in.
Tom😀
Great idea to bring a list!

Are you using a TA? Some of them, esp Big Box, do not participate...
I booked through Princess directly, so I am not sure what is going on.

You tried on princess.com right? Hope it works out for you.
Yes, daily since the window should have opened. 😞

I was on chat with Princess today for way too long asking why I can't place a bid yet for our cruise in December (the cruise is 58 days away and is a 4-night cruise)). He just said that some cruises don't offer upgrades... Super frustrating because there are a lot of cabins left in all categories, so I hope they open it up soon.

You'll get an email in a few days offering you the opportunity to bid on an upgrade. Mine came a few days after the opportunity was supposed to be open but I got that message when I tried.
Wait for the email. Then you'll know your cruise is open.
Thanks, I will try to be patient then. 🙂 There are a lot of rooms available so I am hoping I get the email soon.

If you're at the exact day it says the open, ie trying at 85 days, you're too early. Give it another day or two after the days out listed as when it opens ..
It opened 6 days ago, so I am not. sure what is going on.

Not sure if you are given a better chance, but we also received a counteroffer in July and got it within a week!
