Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We have the same essential situation (family of 4, 2 girls 9 and 13, quiet, not interested in the kids club). We sailed two years ago with them where they had to sleep on the pullout but were in an edge villa. That's probably the only thing that made it work (well that and two bathrooms). For what it's worth we are doing the same thing again this year but I really don't see it working after this year. I doubt we will do it again unless we do the PH or IS and frankly, I think we can get more out of land-based resorts when it comes to families, especially at those prices. For us, the benefits are the number of options and the multiple stops that enable a regular change of scenery without the hassle of packing up and moving to another location/resort. If we continue to cruise it will likely just be the wife and I. I did look at the two connecting suites but then you lose out on some of the perks of an "upper" suite. Plus we love the location of the Edge Villas. Overall I just wasn't a fan of them and wish they had better options.
  2. Looking forward to your review of Le Voyage as we will try it out this summer.
  3. Thank you! I've always been curious about these cruises and appreciate the information!
  4. My family and I had a great experience on the Edge in an EV. We've booked another EV on the Beyond for next year. Everything from embarkation to the food was great. The only bad meal we had was on the Magic Carpet.
  5. Thank you... It was never very crowded on our other trips with Celebrity but the last one (2022) was coming out of Covid and I'm pretty sure the ship we only about 2/3 full.
  6. Yes! I'll have my family with me (wife and two daughters) but would be happy to meet. this will be our first time on Beyond (we were on the Edge last time) so I'm assuming the Villas are basically the same.
  7. I am also on the July 13th sailing! I called the concierge and booked it for the night I wanted. They didn't mention it not being included and sent me an email confirmation that it was booked (again, no mention of it not being included). If they charge me it is what it is. I would have booked it anyway.
  8. I wasn't last time (2022 Italy, France Spain, in an EV) which is part of my concern as I've read this can fill up fast. This is only our fourth cruise (3rd on Celebrity) so I don't have a lot of experience here.
  9. Hi, I tried to search for this but could not find an answer. We are booked for an Edge Villa suite on the Celebrity Beyond in July of 2024. We have previously stayed in an EV suite but on a different ship. Is Le Voyage included as part of "all specialty restaurants are included" or is this outside of that? I don't mind paying as we want to go but I would like to know if I need to go ahead and book it for my family as I don't want to wait and then not be able to try it out. Thanks in advance and sorry again if this has been covered somewhere else!
  10. Thank you for all the responses! I should have enough options to get this taken care of and truly appreciate the time each of you took to respond.
  11. Hi, I had a car scheduled to pick us up through Viator and with no explanation they just canceled the day before we fly (side note: beware this may happen to you should you use Viator). Any recommendations on a car service to pick us up at FCO (Rome Airport) and take us to the port? I am looking for a private car for my family preferably, especially one that might be flexible to take us to somewhere local for coffee / breakfast prior to heading to the port. Any help would be appreciated!
