Have Saga confirmed whether it will be a private or shared transfer?
-
Thanks for the advice tring. We haven’t been on either of Fred’s “new” ships yet. What did you think of Bolette? I hope the food and service was up to Fred’s usual standard.
I have sent an email to Guest Services and will post here when I receive a reply.

We have booked the Freedom Dining option for our Norwegian Fjords cruise on Bolette in July. Just wondering if that is likely to be possible now.

It’s probably best to contact Saga for a definitive answer regarding transfers in April. Let them know how much luggage you are taking at the same time.
I would be surprised if they revert to shared transport if they still plan to carry out COVID testing prior to embarkation. Please post here when you get a response.

2023
in Saga Cruises
It’s also been posted on another social media site (which I’m-not allowed to mention here). Or you could use the live chat facility on Saga website, quoting your reference number and ask them to email it to you.
Saga have stated they will phone everyone who has pre-registered again, to see if they are interested in booking any of the revised Baltic itineraries.
It’s probably touch and go as to whether they will be able to make all of the calls before the 2023 itineraries go on general sale on 5th April!

Did you receive another ebrochure from Saga today with the revised Baltic itineraries?
There is a 17 night North Cape cruise on SofA departing Dover on 19 June 2023.

It would be helpful to know the revised itineraries for the Baltic cruises. Hopefully they will be included in the 2023 brochure, which should be available in early April.

It’s such a relief isn’t it? No more waiting by the phone. I hope you got a decent discount.

Saga have very recently changed the itinerary for SoD cruise departing 13th March. Salerno, Palermo and Cagliari removed. Palma, Mahon, Cartagena and Almeria substituted. No refunds permitted, but Saga have added 2 extra free excursions (making 7 altogether), and premium drinks.
I saw this information yesterday on another social media site. Passengers get an extra port, but IMO the itinerary is not so interesting.

We choose to sail with Saga because it’s an Adults only cruise line. If the cruises were open to all ages Saga would lose its USP.

John 182, can’t understand why Saga haven’t refunded the cost of your cruise, and offered compensation as they did for the other passenger whose driver tested positive.
They should have allocated a named person employee to deal with you. It’s not good for their image. I do hope you get a resolution soon.

Svalbard would be interesting; it’s on our bucket list too. Saga is revising some of it’s itineraries to exclude Russian ports, so Svalbard might appear - you never know!

If you have pre-registered Saga will phone you and advise prices , which will depend on discounts available at the time. Unfortunately it’s not possible to find out prices before then.

We got the e-brochure last night. Departures from Portsmouth, Dover and Tilbury. None from Southampton. Several Baltic cruises under review, details of revised itineraries to be provided later.

nosapphire, I agree that your question needs a detailed answer. It’s very important to know if the Saga included insurance covers passengers in the circumstances you describe.

That’s exactly what I would do!

The removal of St Petersburg is a major change to the itinerary, so you would be entitled to a full refund if you don’t wish to book an alternative itinerary. If you’re having trouble with your TA I suggest you put your request in writing.

Tring, I’ve had a reply from Guest Services. Freedom dining is not an option at the moment, so we are now booked for fixed dining, second sitting! I hope you feel better soon.
