  1. Sorry, I have NO problem with the Barefoot Beach concierge enforcing the rules and appreciate him doing so. There are so many guests trying to get into this area all the time that they are constantly turning away. They do a great job limiting access to only those that are really suppose to be there. In doing so, This keeps it such a special and pleasant place for us all. Complaining about something this trivial to the CEO is another example why Pinnacles are increasingly gaining a bad rep of "I'm better than any other guest and deserve more whiners". We can be removed from the area with a stroke of a pen....IMHO and SMH.

You bring up a good point here. As pinnacles, we need to be careful of rushing to Michael Bayley for everything. This only diminishes us further and further. I can tell you right now it is a constant struggle onboard ships to keep pinnacles happy. I for one am sorry for your experience, but also am happy the rules are being enforced that preserve the exclusivity of the beach.

  2. Hi,

Been awhile since I have cruised Celebrity. Do you know if stock benefit is combinable with the pick your perk promotion? We currently are receiving $300 OBC from that.

    Thanks!

  3. Hi Everyone,

We will be renting a car from FCO and driving through Tuscany for a few days before our cruise departure. I know the port is very restrictive on vehicles entering the port.

In your opinion, what is the best way to drop off rental car and get into the port with the least amount of effort. Can we drop of luggage first? Are there car rental companies within the port? Can Taxis enter the port? We would like to return car to Civitavecchia versus FCO.

    Thanks!

  4. Looking for some assistance for what to do in Picton, New Zealand during our upcoming cruise. I have heard that the downtown area is very nice for shopping, cafés, etc. I have also heard that this region is famous for its wines. Any inputs are greatly appreciated.

As a sidenote, Royal Caribbean does not offer that great of a variety of shore excursions (mostly very expensive) -hence why I am asking for advice.

  5. Don't get too excited .... We've just come back from our first cruise as a Diamond member on INDI and the Conceige lounge was full every night from 5pm till 8.30pm and the diamond lounge was also full tho they extended that particular room by closing the Viking crown bar and making it a diamond and above only venue which made things a lot better...

My only worry for you is that you may experience similar hostile welcoming to what me and my family did over the past 14 nights when entering either the Conceige or diamond lounges , basically people who I'd imagine are either diamond plus or pinnacle were and obliviously know each other started pointing and questioning our status of drinking in these venues in which made me and my family feel very unwelcome and put a sour feeling to what would of been a very good holiday .....

My tips would be to enter either lounge before 5pm and get a seat enjoy the free drinks and just try to ignore what's going on around you !!

The drinks vouchers are only 3 per person when it's unlimited in both lounges ...

Sorry to hear this. Sadly, on some cruises, this type of attitude is more prevalent than on other cruises. I can assure you as someone who turns PC this year, we treat everyone kindly.... And there are lots who do the same.

  6. On a non Oasis or Quantum ship what besides the RS qualifies. RFS doesn't on Oasis.

That is probably why it would be simple to add the Genie. Really just need one - for the Royal Suite and maybe include the RFS as well on Freedom/Voyager Class ships.

We did Royal Suite on Rhapsody and were immensely disappointed with the perks provided. RCL really needs to beef up the perks for this class of room fleetwide IMHO.

  7. May I ask if you have been on the ship since the change to the Royal suite class on May 1, 2016? Not discounting but just wondering if the information is prior to this date or after this date.

No worries. Yes. Just got off. There is a big TV screen in the lounge that says "Welcome to the Suites Concierge Lounge." Underneath it is says "Exclusive to D+, PC, and Suite guests."

  8. We hardly ever go to the DL, but do love the views. On the Independence last week, we decided to go up there the last night to enjoy the sunset for a Diet Coke (we hardly ever drink). It was clear the cliques had already formed. We sat down on a sofa and a lady leaned over and said....... And I QUOTE "excuse me, but does your seapass allow you in here?" We smiled, said yes, and promptly went back to the CL after the sunset.
