  1. We have stayed in this cabin on the Equinox in the Med. Great balcony!! It's about 15 feet (give or take) by 11.5 feet. They put a lounger out there for us in addition to the table and two chairs.

What we liked was the sofa / desk was near the balcony door. So we opened the balcony door and VIOLA - you had an indoor/outdoor living area. The cabin indoors seamlessly transitioned into the outdoor area. We had a cocktail sail away party and there was plenty of room on the balcony for roughly 15 people (comfortably).

  2. Anytime.. The cabin may look a bit unorganized and in disarray.. but that's because they were in the process of cleaning for the next cruise. The OS cabins were very nice and in good condition.. and I walked through several of them. Enjoy your cruise!

    Not a problem. Thanks again!

I have pictures of both 8500 and 8502 on the Vision that were taken after the refurbishment last year. I'll be happy to post both the RS and an OS tomorrow, after I return home.

    Just let me know.:)

  3. The RS was in good shape, including balcony... I checked out all the cabin categories and didn't notice anything of concern. I'm traveling home from a business trip now, but will post the OS pics for you tomorrow

Thanks so much for the photos and help on the RS and look forward to the photos of the OS when you have the time. :)

  4. I spent the day onboard Rhapsody last Friday.. The ship looks great and the crew was very friendly. I had lunch while onboard and the food was also very good. Here are pics of the RS that I took:

Great photos. Would you say it was in good shape? Also, how did the balcony look?

Also, would you happen to have any photos of the owners suites?

    Thanks again.

  5. Thank you Dan. I believe we met in the Concierge Lounge on the Radiance a few years ago. I look forward to seeing you again. :)

Yes we did - we still talk about that cruise to this day. I do believe this cruise will be a good one too. Looking forward to "testing" this size of ship. Legend looks beautiful.

Safe travels and see you soon!

  6. I do not think so - why should Independence replace Liberty? ;)

Both Liberty and Independence have been upgraded in 2011 and 2013, but Liberty has got more new features which Independence does not have. :)

I think Liberty will sail from Barcelona in 2015 as well...

    But what could Independence do?

Could it be that Anthem also comes to Norway or may she only sail mediterranean, channel and Canary itineraries?

It also looks like Allure has all of her May 2015 sailings now listed as N/A - possibly indicating that she will be heading to Barcelona or Rome in summer 2015 for her first European Season. Independence might stay behind to fill that gap in Ft. Lauderdale, so rotating E & W. Caribbean cruises with Oasis of the Seas.

  9. When I asked the Captain that very question a couple weeks ago I was told within the next 6 months. Not much if an answer.

Early April for C&A members and April 18th to general public from what I've heard.

  10. Thanks! and yep, it was only on the center hump cabin. Our neighbors didn't have them. You will absolutely LOVE this cabin. The TV pivets. So you have the choice of viewing in the living area or the bedroom area. There's also a DVD player in the cabinet. And a final item I forgot to mention related to in room "audio" entertainment, we also had an iPod dock in the vanity area!

Thanks! Would also like to hear info/pricing on private party in the suite - we may be interested in doing something like that during our cruise.

    Really appreciate the review!

  11. Vanity area--it was nice having the double vanity, although without power outlets, we never had two of us using them at the same time--

    The whirlpool tub--

Word of warning--water pressure in this cabin was very powerful. A few tips below to prevent flooding your cabin....

#1-While we never actually "used" the bidet, we can confirm that when you turn on the faucet, it will go shooting all over the floor. Perhaps the trick is to be sitting on it to prevent over spray

#2-If using the whirlpool tub, you should either be sitting in it with your back against the rear jets, or adjust them prior to hitting the power button. Or be prepared for a huge spray of water across the room. I actually had to dry off the artwork on the back wall.

There was also a glass enclosed shower next to the tub, which we used most frequently. It was fairly small, but certainly a giant improvement over the spaceship tubes you get in the standard balcony rooms.

    "THE" Balcony.....

1340 is on the center hump, flanked by two other Owners Suites on each side. We absolutely loved this balcony, and it was HUGE!!!! Our traveling companions were in 1334 right next door, so they did open up the balcony divider for us, which made it feel even larger. We did not hear any noise from above, and being in the center of the hump gives you great views forward and aft. If you have an opportunity to book this cabin on a Freedom class ship--DO IT! You won't be disappointed!

I had packed my binnoculars as well, but turns out we didn't need them thanks to the high powered one permanently affixed on our balcony. I guess this is a center hump Owners Suite perk. We did not notice them on any of the other Owners Suites....

More commentary on the cabin coming up.....

    AMAZING REVIEW!!!

We just got upgraded to OS 1340 on our cruise next month!! SO thrilled to hear little noise in suite, and the center hump looks to be the premiere OS onboard!

The high powered binnoculars look AMAZING! And it is only on the center hump OS? Wow!!!!!

    Thanks so much!!

Question ==> is the TV a double sided TV, or does it pivet back from the living room to watch TV in the bedroom area?

  12. Maybe the pinnacle members are just dying off, most I have met are much older and really paid the price for cruising, that is dollar wise.

But, as popular and price wise cruising vacations are now day, I would bet there will be a lot more Pinnacle member in a few years and will be a lot younger. We were introduced to a young girl on the Freedom, a while back, she was around 6 or maybe 8, she was already well passed D+, I guess, her family and grandparents, both sides take her cruising quite often, all live in Florida

I did have a good laugh at this (sorry guys).

I agree with the age of the Pinnacle club members getting younger. I am in my early 20s and will be pinnacle within the next five years. So long as I don't die off  I should enjoy Pinnacle club benefits for the next 50 years!!
